i cant understand how whats meant to be a kids movie can deal with two of the biggest problems plaguing our world these days. As well as that how the two main characters can only partially talk and there is no talking at all for like the first half of the film.

Chicken Little is one of the funniest animated films and I love it. Also shrek 1 and 3 (not so much 2) are brilliant. I too am a big fan of animated films so i could go on forever.

    Shock for you

I you are a fan of the "Kid" films you listed, "Heavy Metal" will give you an "Adult" shock. Don't let kids around you watch it!

Sorry haven't read this whole thread but wanted to offer up my suggestions.

Cool World is one of my favorite movies. It's 1/2 animated, 1/2 'real life'

Some of my favorite animated movies, in no particular order (many are anime):

    Ninja Scroll
    Vampire Hunter D
    Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
    Akira
    Ghost in the Shell
    The Hobbit
    The last unicorn
    Fantasia
    Heavy Metal
    Shrek

While entertaining as they were they should not even be considered as the best animated films. They will never match the likes of Akira, Spirited Away,
Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Monoke. If you don't agree check out rotten tomatoes.
