Bejeweled Celebrates 10 years

Actually this game is what brought me to the doorsteps of my beloved Puzzle Quest. Not a quick jump but a gradual liking for more intricate games based on this one.

Its what started it all for me and millions(?) of other people no doubt.

The game is mind-numbingly dull. Fail.

 

It's addictive in the sense that it stimulates certain chemicals in my mind that drive to me to go on. Unlike Peggle (yeah, I know they're both made by Popcap)... if Peggle were a woman, she would be every single Victoria Secret model combined.

On a slightly different note, how'd the original devs come up with the name "Popcap"? Were they watching a gangsta movie at the time?

 

It's boring because it's so flippin' simple. It's like playing Snap by yourself.

But I consider my niece and nephew and all the other age groups out there.
Being that its one of their first real games played, it has won them over completely. Dull?......not through their eyes. And quite possibly a future dev in the making....never know!

Of course an older game such as Bejeweled will be looked upon as dull and boring compared to the better games that has surpassed it.
In its own time it was a great game for everyone. Still is for some.

I personally couldn't trash a game that has held its title for so many years.
Funny, but people talk bad about this game always and (imo) it rates up there like a founding father of some sort.
And the reason why I'm enjoying the current match3's such as Puzzle Quest, Montezuma, Paradise Quest, etc.

I still believe the game holds much valued purpose and the reason why its still played by many.

Personally I have great respect for this game.

 

Lol. They have Bejeweled on planes as well.

Actually, the company was originally called 'Action Sexy Fun', but they changed it to PopCap because of some thing with a soda bottle that happened with the founders, according to the latest GameInformer.
