    0-29 = Junior Member

    30-99 = Member

    100+ = Senior Member

Yes, it's all post count based.

It is by post count. Junior Member- 0 to 29 posts. Member- 30 to 99 posts. And Senior Member- 100+ posts.

I hate how it's based on post count, that means almost nothing. I didn't even realize, but I all of a sudden became a senior member. I was like really? I just joined like 3 weeks ago, and to my knowledge I don't spam! Now what will my excuse be when I do something incredibly stupid, I used to just think I could get away with "being a junior member"

Hint: Both post count and member level are completely meaningless. ;)

I say no post counts, no "juniors or seniors", no hierarchy whatsoever. You post what you post. You want to get a name for yourself? Post meaningful things that contribute to the given thread. That's my .02, although I don't want to be known as a backseat administrator.

i have an okay idea to do for this forum. I know its off topic in this thread but, how about if toucharcade does like a game of the week type of thing like every monday or anyday of the week where people pick their own favorite game of the week?

The member titles should be: Member (e.g. gscal), Administrator (e.g. arn), Moderator (e.g. Hodapp), Guest (e.g. redstar), In Time-Out (e.g. ericxd, a few days ago), and Banned (e.g. ibitf).

True! However, I see it brought up quite often in cases like "you're a senior member, I can't believe you did ________" or "yeah, coming from someone with ___ amount of posts". Just seems stupid.

Yes I agree, and don't worry there are plenty of backseat admins here that you got nothing to worry about ;)

Yeah, you are right. I should just be the bigger person, after all I AM a senior member now :p

But it would still be nice to see the post count thing go away :)

Well, if you really want to be a true senior member, you should chat with other members on the site. Join a social group or two. Maybe even chat outside of TA.

Oh, and the senior members who post stupid things are probably "God Members". These guys think they're all cool because they have a lot of posts.", but it's only in the Pocket God threads.

vBulletin has a feature to optionally hide post counts. Arn doesn't use anywhere near the full potential of the forums software he bought. :| He can do custom rankings and everything, rather than the default, Junior, reg, and Senior members. But, I've seen nothing. It's different on Macrumors (which I've oddly been registered on since Feb of 2008? Don't recall that one, but ok), but its very plain on here. I think that arn considers TA his "side-project", not something to be taken seriously, like MacRumors.

These people got it all wrong. You must follow the ritual below to become a senior member:

Find a red cocoa bean among the blue, and hop twice on the stone of anarchy. Proceed to do a cartwheel in front of a Publix shopping cart until you reach the home of Jon Stewart. This is when you take an iTunes card, slit your wrists with it, create a trail with your blood, and moonwalk on it. Then you give your first born to Big Albie, and finito, you're a senior member.
