Nice! Please fix controls. Think you've done a smashing job. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make movement controls better. First by making whole left screen area the movement section. Second either make the firing and jumping controls user moveable and resizeable, or take a cue from one of the bigger ios fps games... I found that updating the .cfg before zipping with the following changes helps a lot: bind LEFTARROW "+moveleft" bind RIGHTARROW "+moveright" and if you have the reversed y axis issue: seta m_yaw "-0.022" iphone 5.
I think this release is gonna b a 'one off' deal. Not gonna receive any updates or support. Very sad if true. Besides, does no one else understand tht u will never b able to compete with PC players using a mouse, no matter how they tweak the controls. There will never b exclusive mobile device servers. I just wish someone wld redo EliminatePro for modern idevices. Wld b sick. Damn it I want Eliminate back. Oh well, I can dream.
Ok, after messing around more with multiplayer, this game is completely dysfunctional. I shoot other players point blank with zero effect. Game is 100% completely broken and ultimately exists for no reason. It is rubbish at this point. Is it worth $.99 to chase a couple bots around on single player? Not for me, but they already got my buck. Deleted... Oh, and mite I add I have the lowest ping in lobby by far.
I don't mind just playing against bots if controls work. No other quick twitchy shooters out on ios, at least not with this level of nostalgia. The rest of the A+ shooters are more slower paced and "modern".
My controls wrked fine in single player the first time I downloaded the game but failed in multiplayer. I deleted the app n reinstalled then redownloaded the files one at a time. After tht the controls were fine in single n multi. Hope this helps.
Movement and axis reversal problems To anyone having problems with turn/strafe with the joypad and axis reversal on look controls, you need to modify your q3config.cfg file. Your q3config.cfg file will have been setup for your particular controller combination on your pc and may need to be modified for touch controls. Simply open the q3config.cfg file in a text editor (notepad on PC or textedit on mac) and edit the file. The lines you need to configure are bind UPARROW "+forward" bind DOWNARROW "+back" bind LEFTARROW "+moveleft" bind RIGHTARROW "+moveright" [This will set the joypad to forward/backward and strafe] If you have issues with axis the following lines need to be configured seta m_pitch "-0.022000" seta m_yaw "-0.022" [pitch is the up/down look and yaw is side to side look setting both to negative seems to work as a default setting for touch controls. Pitch reversal can also be changed by going into setup in the game and adjusting the look controls to invert mouse on/off] Having edited the file recompile the baseq3.zip and reinstall to your iPad as before (having deleted the old zip file!) Hope this works for you all with problems!
I spent many hours being baffled by the "couldn't load default.cfg" error message. I had been using iTunes to sync the baseq3.zip file and had attempted multiple revisions. Eventually I used iFunbox (any iPhone file explorer should work, jailbreak not required) and found that even after reinstalling Beben III, the .pk3 files were in a baseq3 directory under the main baseq3 directory. Using iFunbox, I moved the files up to the main baseq3 directory and everything worked perfectly from there. See the attached photo (which also includes the appropriate sizes for the .pk3 files). I hope this helps.
Don't know about ifile - I don't have a jail broken device - but if you can find the .cfg file on your device and ifile is a text editor then I don't see why not.
Control issues (contiunued) I finally installed my full Q3Arena in, and like many of you, my X and Y (both) are swapped and "inverting mouse" or adding the m yaw command in the config file doesnt help. The strange thing is that its ONLY for the full quake 3 arena. Both Open Arena and Q3 Shareware are working correctly. Not really sure where I went wrong?

Anyone else getting stuck on the loading screen when trying to join matches? And sometimes it says "Couldn't load map". I can only join matches like 10% of the time I guess im stuck playing with the bots
See my comment #88. It will explain the pitch and yaw adjustment. The reason it only happens with full Q3A game is that the configuration.cfg files for the other games are set for the touchscreen device by the game creator. You will have set the .cfg file for your PC yourself (in your initial setup of Q3A when you first played it on your PC!). You will need to reconfigure for your touch device as I outlined.
Wish I could say it worked. Still no dice. To verify I did it right, I also deleted the q3a full, did the file sharing installer again, etc. also double checked to make sure all your suggested entries would work. Movement stick is fine, it's still just flipped x and y. Hmmmmm. What if pitch and yaw were positive values instead?
