Which are better? Beats earbuds or Beats headphones? I want to get one but I'm not sure which type to get.

I like listening to music and the headphones would be great for listening to music at home but not when you are outside or in public (ex: school). I know that the Beats headphones are probably more comfortable but, I would like to get the earbuds because they're more portable.

Tough Call. Both the headphones and Earphones are really loud and have great quality but TBH it really depends on what you are most comfortable with. I personally prefer the headphones because it's easier to maintain (I can't tell you how many times I've lost earphones to my washing machine due to them being left in my pocket or because I accidentally sat on them.)

Don't you mean headphones are easier to maintain? I don't think you could fit headphones into your pocket. Unless you have huge pockets.

If you're looking for the best sound experience, get headphones: solos or studios. Really depends on where you're going to be mainly using them though. If you're going to use them for running, during school, or whatever, get the earphones. If you're going to be using them to jam out to music and for games at home, then definitely go with the headphones. Like I said though, the headphones offer a much superior sound experience. I personally have earphones though since I pretty much put everything on speaker when I'm at home xP.

Don't get Beats. Get Sennheisers. You'll thank me for not adhering to the status quo.

This x1000, bought a pare of Beats for comparison against sennheisers. And holy crap do the beats just suck eggs.

Absolutely terrible and all your paying for is the name.

    This. A hundred times this.
I'd just like to add, that Sennheisers aren't the only good option. AKG, Klipsch, Beyerdynamic and a bunch of lesser-known companies have similarly priced and roughly the same quality head/earphones as Sennheiser.

Was going to say the same thing. When you buy beats 99.99999999% of the purchase is just buying the name. the other 1.111111% is the quality your getting. Trust me its not worth $200 to look cool

Senns are def better than Beats. Beats cost too much and have worse sound quality.

If you know anything about headphones, you know that the Beats are HUGE MARKED UP GIMMICKS!! DO NOT BUY THEM THEY ARE BAD QUALITY!!!

I consider myself an Audiophile.. if you don't know what that is then google it. I'm on an audio forum that discusses the best quality sound devices.

For headphones the brands you want to look into are:
    Ultrasone
    Grado
    Beyer-Dynamics
    Denon
    Sennheiser
    Sony

You can get a $50 pair of headphones that are way better quality than Beats. PM me if you want more info

I have a pair of Beats Solos that I've had for a few months and I'm pretty happy with them.

I know they are really overpriced for what you get but I bought them mainly because I liked the way they look. I know that might not sound like the most important thing to consider with headphones but I think people do tend to exaggerate how bad the sound quality is on Beats. They might not be the best, but they're certainly far from bad, I think they sound quite good.

They've also seem to have lasted longer than than any other on head headphones that I've owned, but I think thats been due to me being really careful with them knowing how much they cost XD

    Totally agree with you.

The thing is, the teenagers have bought into this branding that the Beats name has created and they really don't care how things sound but how they look wearing them. Sad. But really no use trying to convince them - the style is the most important factor at this point - they want earbuds they will get those (in an array of colors to match their outfits); they have a smaller head and/or not enough money - they will get solos; they have more money and a larger head they will get studios.

Which brings to the OP here - if you are set on Dr Dre's then you know what you will use them for so get the ones that suit you - point of the thread?

Just one more thing: the reviews on www.head-fi.org should be useful deciding what to buy. :>

^ all of what you just said can be applied to Apple products though.

If style wasn't important at all we'd all still be carrying around ugly brick phones.

And I personally think Beats make the best looking headphones with reasonably good sound. All the Skullcandy ones look kiddy as hell with their designs, while a lot of higher end headphones can look genuinely ugly.

I'm too tired to write bigg sentences, so I'll make this simple.
You use your phone/tablet/computer in a place where you can see it -> it matters if. It looks decent. (plus, Apple products have advantages beyond their design)
You use your ear/headphones on your head -> it doesn't matter if they are 'stylish'.

Yeah but if you can see it so can other people. I'm sure all those dudes in Starbucks pulling out their MacBooks and iPads wouldn't be seen dead with a ThinkPad.

Might be true about some, but I can only share my opinion here, and that's really simple. don't give a crab about what a bunch of strangers think of my stuff or me.
