That said, there's a pretty obvious question. If the Kairosoft model has so much potential, but it needs some new features to keep it fresh and interesting, and Kairosoft is putting out just "more of the same", why isn't there anyone else trying to make those Kairosoft-like games with new ideas as well?
had this for a very long time on my phone... never really cared to play though ._. specially now that Kairosoft released Dream House Days in the Play Store They also released(but in japanee) a game with ninjas and samurais... this one is the one i want(dunno the name)... screens show battles and im very much interested in that fact in any case, how's Beastie Bay? good? bad?... I really dunno if i wanna play it considering im playing another monster collecting game atm...
Sorry I've got so many questions but the game explains so little! And I figure someone else out there probably has the same ones... How do I keep tourists on my island for longer periods of time? They use the two closest facilities to the dock, then dip out!
I do enjoy what i could play with so i bought the $5 IAP just now... I am very disappointed about the black border on the ipad that's still there.
I enjoy the island sim bit, but the monster/pet battles and exploration are a drag. As for it being a monster collecting game...it doesn't seem to have what it takes to make me want to "collect 'em all".
You can't collect them all only 40 after that you have to release or appoint to a school. So them saying collect them all is kinda not true.
Same goes with Pokemon... Anyways, I never expected anything more than a kairosoft game. I mean why would you? It's like saying I expect the taste of an orange out of an apple. Its illogical. Also I don't see what people have to complain about shallowness. There's elements, equips, skills, types and almost as much as Pokemon has. None of the criticisms really seem indepth. I'm also finding the IAP unnecessary so I'm pretty happy about that.
I didn't say I didn't like it. My only one I didn't like was venture towns due to no tutorial good enough to understand it. I'm playing pocket league and having a blast (just got it)
Hows this for annoying: using a potion takes the entire teams turn? As does swapping out a member? I realize this isnt unusual in some of these type of games, but it really breaks combat IMO. I mean it sucks so bad, using items in game and swapping out characters almost might as well not even be there.
Well the expectation from the general audience was that this was like Pokemon, which, the combat breaks you mention, are also in Pokemon.
Letting you heal or swap your team with no penalty in combat would be stupid, then you could win any fight with just a bunch of potions or a big team.
As a fan of Pokemon, this is light years away in comparison haha. Also your previous comment about how collecting is the same for pokemon, you're way off. Current generations have more storage space than is needed to hold multiples of every existing Pokemon basically. In my comment about the game I pointed out that this is like most Kairosoft games, which is both its pro and its con. It has no serious depth in the monster front, no Kairosoft game with a "twist" has much actual depth in its twist. So it's not surprising. It is saddening though, because there's a lot of untapped potential in this game's concept. Kairosoft pushes out games that can be completed in just a few hours, usually with the only depth being calculation - and even that is usually easy to get by. Their games offer little deviation from each other. So fans generally like all of them. And people that don't like their games generally don't like any of them haha. So like I said, it's both the pro and the con. But as a whole, I find Beastie Bay to be below average as far as Kairosoft games go. And as far as monster games go, I also find it significantly subpar.(but most monster games on iOS are ridiculously subpar. It's better than a lot of them at least)
Be that as it may, the penalty is too big. Your welcome to disagree but items and swapping team members is esentially useless to me, to the point of they might as well not be there (exception of course being using bait to catch monsters, which is somewhat unavoidable)
i agree, cant find any sentimental value for my monster LOL. something is missing, and i dont really know if what it is
This is how i feel. Normally, Kairosoft games will give you a lot of small rewards throughout your gameplay. This game is sort of just watch and mindlessly press some buttons every once in awhile.
Wel I've just picked this up n so far I think it's pretty dudey. Keeping me nicely entertained, like the mix of monster collection and town building with the exploring. As a lot have said the tutorial/help section in the game is a little lacklustre, my first go I restarted after 6 month as my builds were ridiculous. Couple of things, is everyone positive there are no evolutions? And is there a set time limit? Like do u have to do as much as u can before a certain amount of years or can u chill and stockpile goods to build a metropolis? Currently just finished exploring all the first land, done the cave a few times, n now trying to build up each of the islands on the first island so that my food and wood production is sky high, is this a bad idea?
