And the thread of the year award goes to...... Downloading because of your oozing charm. (that is charm...right?)
Shhhhshhh, hush now CygnetSeven, no questions, just download <3 Also, if you wanna get on making "Thread of the Year" an official award, I ain't gonna stop you. Goad you at gunpoint, maybe, but I certainly won't stop you if you catch my potentially fatal drift. I kid. Or do I? I do. Probably. Maybe just give me a little golden statue with my name on it just to be on the safe side.
I'm really enjoying it so far, but I have only scratched the surface. I'm still recommending it to my friends as I think it has the potential to become a classic for mobile play. And as everyone has noted, the writing is exceptional. I do feel there are some minor polish things that could/should have been addressed if the game had gone into beta as originally intended, but I suspect the devs will iron those out over time. A few examples. These are all very minor in the grand scheme of the game, but are the kinds of things that can cause impatient players to get confused or frustrated. - A couple times after a fight it appeared to be locked up when I'd won, but it turned out there was just a reward floating around that I didn't see so I hadn't tapped it lol - The second(?) map I didn't realize I had reached the "end" as I somehow didn't get close enough to the thingy that indicated I needed to touch it. So I just went back and was confused about how to progress - The Defend thing has already been addressed above; actually I thought it was quite amusing how that was revealed in the game. - Is there a reason why you don't heal up on the overmap unless you go into the lair (forgot what it was called)? Seems extraneous to force players to go back there just to heal up to full - Also it would be nice to have a little more explanation of what's going on in the lair. It's possible I skipped the text but it's a little confusing. It looks like eventually you clear out the trash and make more stations for crafting or whatnot, but it might be nice to set that up for the player more clearly so they know they have something to look forward to - Along the same lines, it would be nice to give some hints as to what's coming up sooner. I saw some mention of mana but haven't seen anything resembling a spell system. Maybe just need a few more levels? - Weapons? Only by chance did I realize I could use a tree branch to do more damage. I did my first 10 or so fights with my fists only. Definitely worth making that clearer sooner as well.
Rittchard, you're back! There's gotta be some kind of saying or poem about the beauty of a user, against all odds, finding his way from a game's old topic to the new one, for it is truly a thing of majesty <3 And you've brought gifts! Compliments and constructive feedback alike! You spoil us, Rittchard <3 As always, you make some good points, my friend. Many players are having the same grievances (especially about equipping weapons, I'm kicking myself over that one), it's actually been really great so far that the feedback has been so consistent, makes our jobs of pinpointing the problem areas a helluva lot easier! We have the capability to alter the game completely on the fly so some of these things can be addressed without actually updating which is super, super nice. I am pleased as punch that, in spite of it all, you are enjoying the game! (and you said you liked the writing just to make me blush, didn't you? <3 I'm wise to your games, Rittchard, and don't you ever stop <3). It was a struggle but I am actually very pleased with the game's story and overall canon so if you're big into wacky-wonky RPG stories I hope you'll continue to enjoy this one
Can we PLEASE get some rimshots and splash cymbals permanently attached to Lt. Action? This thread got you another download, and I hope to throw some dollars your way (though Marvel Future Fight is taking up most of my time at the moment).
A conundrum. My ego demands I be decorated in lavish praise and, as your name and comment suggest, copious amounts tinsel and brass/metal knick-knacks, however, trundling about with splash cymbals and such introduces certain complications when it comes to my nightly vigilanteism. Crime is ever wary knowing Lieutenant Action stalks the streets, that he could be outright LURKING around any given corner, and such adornment would give away my position, but I'm always down for a challenge. For everyone's information, there is a 50% chance I both am and am not around every corner you pass by today. Watch yo' backs. And fronts. I'm super pumped this thread alone got a download from you, though, Tinsel! I always enjoy speaking with our players directly about our gamez (with a big fat Z). One down, 99,999,999 to go!
Stuck I'm a little confused as to what to do now... I just beat Darkshore Rock and I have 8 of those secret folders but the next dungeon takes 9 to open. I have all other secret folders so where can I get 1 more?
So far this game is pretty cool. Funny dialogue with a really cute art style. I dig that you can decorate you hideout too. That's a cool added bonus. I haven't gotten too far yet. Just pretty much learned the roped and picked up this book thing after I blew up the mama machine, but so far, so good.
Panfried! That itself is some pan-fried suck with a heaping side of "no bueno". Have you scoured the map for pulsing nodes? (try that line the next time you're out on a date BADDUM-CHHH) If the none of the levels have a silhouette of the folder with a "?" on the title cards that pop up when you select them, let me know! Glad you're enjoying it so far! Dig on, Noen, dig on and go deeper, I'm excited to hear what people have to say about how the story develops! So long as it is 100% heavily garnished praise.
Possible bug So to add my thoughts on the game it seems quite nice and well thought. The idea of levelling up and gathering materials in order to craft the various items is really nice, although I would have liked to farm certain spots in order to get a specific item rather than being a random global drop. And there comes my question. I had gathered enough money and bought the anvil, purchased it and placed it and went back to fight. When I came back the anvil was nowhere to be found and the money of course are missing. Now when I open my backpack under the anvil icon I can see it says "1 stored". If that means that I can access it from somewhere where is that cause it has been driving me mental to the point of quitting the game altogether after spending all my money to buy that anvil.... Any answer from the developer or anyone else that has a clue would be much appreciated!
I found the problem and a possible bug. I have 8 folders as I mentioned before: Old Wood - Complete Shore of Sorrow - Complete Aric's Grove - Complete Poppy's Farm - Complete The Trade Way - Complete Bumble Bee Farm - Complete Tranquil Forest - Complete Darkshore Rock - Complete There are NO areas which are pulsing, I have seen that new/incomplete areas do that, so I thought I was stuck. But looking thru the map I noticed an area with a name I didn't remember, Rollem Wilds. When I click on it the folder is shown as though I already have it but now that I am in this area I know I have never been here before. You might want to look into how this is possible, I even have a screen shot of the area marked as complete but I only have 8 folders.
And I don't know whether I should eat a Ponycakes or ride one. Either way you cut it, my thoughts are steamy and unclear and YOU are not safe, Ponycakes. For your sake I will restrain myself for as long as possible but I can't make any promises. I say this to you as a friend and admirer; watch your back, Ponycakes <3 Have you ever seen "The Good Son" with Macackalay Caulkin? We bring a lovely, perfect angel into this world and bestow upon it the miracle (and burden) of existence and how does it repay us? By tricking Elijah Wood into dumping dummies off an over-pass and causing traffic accidents. We're still wrestling with our widdle bitty workshop. The feature is in, it's functioning, but it still spits up onto our nice clean shirts now and then. Here's the skinny; sometimes a workshop item fails to place- you OWN it, but it is in "storage" as you can see. To recover it, simply press the anvil button again as if you're buying it and it will "come out of storage". If this was unclear I duly apologize, we're still trying to get a feel for how our players think the game oughta work- it's clear we've got some UI polish to do! Say not another word, Panfried <3 It must be destiny; we heard from some of our closest buds that this error was preventing their progress just earlier today! Our intrepid code-master and CEO Jeff Brooks dove into the servers not 20 minutes ago and smote this bug handily; if you close your app and reopen it, you should be good to go! The issue was that the server was misreading a folder requirement and telling you that "Rollem Wilds" was taken care of. Open the game back up and check the top right corner of the map- the path before you should be pulsing like the nervous heart of a smitten lass on Valentine's Day. That's how you know Beast Bound loves you back <3
Possible bug Well I have already tried that even before posting but from the moment I press the icon because I lack the funds(since I have spent it to buy the anvil previously) a new window pops up urging me spend gems in order to buy the missing gold. Any suggestions? Do I need to re-collect all the gold in order to be able to to "unlock" the stored anvil or if I do that another one will be bought?
Well crap-nuts, that should not be the case at all. Looks like we've got a genuine bug on our hands. We're gonna have to go deeper to get this one solved for you; we've got your problem marked down in our internal issue tracker but I will send you a PM to see if we can't iron this bug. Iron it TO DEATH.
Question: once you get the Iron Slammer will it be used up/deleted if I remove a rock in my Workshop? Or can I just go crazy and start smashing rocks?
For your safety it will be "used up" and removed from inventory. Wouldn't want anyone to go nuts and hurt themselves, we'd feel terrible. Leverage that in-game market, man! I'm sure there are folks out there willing to sell your hammer-crazed self as many hammers as your destructive heart desires <3
I am stuck on the Hotspring level. I get to a part where it is supposed to change to the next screen but it never brings me there. It might be hard to explain exactly where but I'll do my best: On the screen with the homeless looking guy who pays you for the secret folders if you move one area to the left you are stuck behind a barrier. I have gone all the way around it and am now on the other side of that barrier. If I try to move one screen down nothing happens, it wont progress. Am I missing something? Also, I feel as though the Rollem Buster should have stun like the Iron Slammer, otherwise it is not worth losing 1 attack per turn for slightly increased damage. Fist weapons are by far the weakest of the three types, weak to Rollems, weak to plants. Unless they have 4 attacks per turn they are pointless. I am talking about the Chin Buster in particular. Final point, I have noticed a UI bug that pretty constantly pops up; In the top right corner where the coin and diamond icons are the coin icon turns all black some times so all that I see is a black box. Anyone else notice that? iPhone 5s.
HAHAHA, CLASSIC PANFRIED! ALWAYS MAKING JOKES! BUGS?! THAT'S RICH! When you said "Iron Slammer" before you meant "show me some early hammer concepts to distract me from these 'bugs'!", right? GREAT, CAN DO! Check out some early- and I'm talkin' early- hammer concepts! Who am I kidding? I've got some good news and some less-good news, panfried. First the less-good: that is indeed a bug and it is indeed a blocker. We won't be able to rectify that one until the next update. Now the good (which I have saved for last to make me look better): We've submitted the fix about a week ago and it should be live sometime this week if Apple approves it (along with MORE HATS! WHOOOOOOA!). This is our reward for our most committed players who make it that far- to find a bug after we ship that prevents you from enjoying a game you once so enjoyed. Seriously, I am both bummed and embarrassed that this one got by us, it's no way to treat our invested players. The Lieutenant wants to make it right, though, panfried. You intrepid pilgrim you, forging deep into the unknown of our game and dutifully reporting game breaking bugs- Imma PM you after I post this and we're gonna do you right <3 As for the rest of your feedback; THANKS, MAN! I'm super glad you're getting the hang of the game and feeling out what feels good and what doesn't. We initially wanted most of the weapons to have secondary effects but ran out of time (a future update may be devoted entirely to adding battle effects if we see enough interest/support). Your note on the Chin Buster is particularly appreciated; balancing which weapons should have how many hits was a toughie, we'll take your feelings on the matter into consideration as we continue to update! Speaking of updates, to anyone who has been playing the game pretty regularly, are there any specific enhancements or add-ons you feel would greatly improve Beast Bound? Go nuts, get weird- I'm talkin' ANYTHING. A furniture set where everything is dinosaurs, a Beast by the name of "Coma Toad" that never attacks, just sits there all comatose and gets beat down- ANYTHING! *We've heard from almost everyone that the coin icon turns to a black sqaure- we're scratching our very, very frustrated heads on that one.
How about instead of you hot fools sitting around and twiddlin' your thumbs waiting for our next update you TWIDDLE ME SOME VOTES INSTEAD! What'd ya'll want to see more of in Beast Bound? Belligerent BEASTS? Wacky WEAPS? Fantastical FUN-ITURE? "What's next for Beast Bound" you ask, spectacularly missing the point of this post? I don't know- YOU TELL ME.
