    Enjoy the Beach Rush!

    ********************************************

    TA fellas,

    we are running giveaway for BEACH RUSH (iTunes link) with 5 promo codes to be send. To make it more interesting than just spread the codes out, we want you to post a comment into this thread - how do you think the multiplayer in Beach Rush should look like? Preferably with two devices (Peer-to-Peer connection).

    We will close the "contest" after 24 hours and the authors of the most interesting responses will get a promo code by PM's.

    In single player currently available in App Store, your task is to get swimmers into their designated docks before the sharks get them down. Swimmers are appearing on screen from different directions and in their own speeds.

    Unlike most of games of this type out there, we are not using line drawing mechanism. You are the wind master and you control directions of wind with your finger by swiping over the screen. Swimmers are cruising depending on wind you made.

    I think it should look like one player controls one half of the screen, one controls the other. Or one person controls half of the total items one player controls the other half of the items

    Split the screen in half and see who can get the most swimmers to the docks in a limited time
    or you could just use full screen with a scoreboard type thing across the top

    Splitscreen would be pretty cool, imo.

    EDIT: Didn't see dpl's post :( Maybe just playing consecutively. Higher score = Win
    Another idea: Player 1 sees what player 2 does in a smaller window on his screen and vice versa.

    One person controls swimmers, the other controls the sharks trying to eat the swimmers....Both players need to anticipate the other's moves in advance...

    One player should control the swimmers and the other should of course control the sharks and perhaps motor boats or windsurfers (which in this particular setting should be considered evil and try to knock the swimmers). Perhaps the second player can also create (giant-ish) waves to distrupt the path of the swimmers.

    While split screen would look cool it takes half the screen away from the user.
    2 ideas.

    1. slide over (like on springboard to see what they are doing)
    2. mixed beach... the other user is a totally different color and everything is on screen at one time.

    Looks interesting, i'd like to see it in action.

    I have 2 ideas:

    =======

    First, one person could control the wind- and control where the swimmers go, and the other person could control the current- control where the sharks go.

    that way people could play cooperatively (player 1 moves the swimmers to shore, player 2 keeps the sharks away) or competitively (sharks vs swimmers!)

    =======

    Second, you could have the same general idea, but use the wind (player 1) and the waves (player 2) so that both players are controlling the swimmers, and act cooperatively to move the swimmers in.

    But to keep it honest, if both the wind and waves act on a single swimmer too strongly, they capsize and are in immediate danger of either drowning or being eaten. You can have some mechanic to save them in place- maybe the 2 players have to cooperate to do it, maybe not.

    =======

    I think this will be a nice change from other games of this type.

    edit: argh, took too long to type it out! when I started, there were no posts besides the OP.

    My idea would be:

    1. Have a set number of swimmers at the beginning (aka, both devices have 5-6 swimmers).
    2. When a swimmer is docked, they appear on the other person's screen.
    3. Over time, more swimmers can appear if both players are able to maintain. Whoever loses x number of swimmers first loses.

    I think it should be competitive multiplayer...each player has 3 to 5 lives to lose and they compete on their own screens to dock beach goers...when the first person loses, the game ends and stats between the two players are then compared.

    OR

    Set it up as a first to dock X number of beachgoers and when the goal number is reached, the game ends and the stats are compared on both screens.

    That way both people are competing on their own screen and then winner's/loser's stats are compared afterwards. You could always show the number of safely docked people of your opponent in one corner of the screen so both can see how the other is doing.

    A co-op multiplayer map which is essentially two screens wide. Each player owns half of the map. The players each have 2 homebases, one which is a color that they share, and one that is unique to their half of the map. The player needs to safely direct their unique color swimmers home, send the other player's unique color swimmers off screen on one side, and can then choose whether to keep or pass the swimmers of the shared color! Could inject a little extra layer of frantic pressure as you juggle to keep or send. Teamwork would be key to extended survival. Adds a little competitive flair as well, as you can screw with your friend...

    First of all this looks really cool!! And as for multiplayer I would like to see I think what someone said earlier. One person controls the shark and the other controls the wind.

    My ideas are this...

    1) If possible have multiplayer mode be through not just wi-fi but through bluethooth as well if that is possible. This makes it much easier for people to play multiplayer even if they are not in an area that does not have wi-fi.

    2) Have a different map with only tubes and rafts. First player is in control of the inner tubes and the second player is in control of the rafts. However, the wind each player controls is universal, so each player can try to direct the other players pieces towards the sharks or towards the beach.

    A simple idea for multiplayer using two iPods, each player starts with a set number of swimmers on the screen, every time three swimmers are saved, a shark appears in the other players screen. So the faster you save the swimmers, the more sharks appear in the other person screen and viceversa. The game ends when one of the payers looses a set number of swimmers to the sharks.

    In a single screen to see both players. One with shadow effect, so that makes we can see what make the other at all time. A swimmer can only be saved by one player. The first ho save it wins one point. Who make more points win the game.

    Yes, we are planning to do it available via Bluetooth (Peer-to-Peer connection) for players with 3.0 firmware.

    I'd like to see 2 forms of multi-player in one game - Co-op and a Competition. The competition should be Player one controls all yellow rafts and tubes (for example, and Player 2 controls all blue ones. The players race to save the most rafts and tubes, but can control the wind to knock the other player out of the way. Special powers can be activated by saving 3 rafts or tubes in a row before the other player can save 1. These special powers could be like a tidal wave, whirlwind, etc.
    The co-op, the palyers would work together to save a number of the rafts and tubes within a period of time. Co-op could be activated in levels from easy, medium, and hard. :D

    I'd like to see one players wind red, and the other in green.

    One person can be in charge of saving the people, and the other controls the sharks.

    One person should be able to control the wind, and the other should be able to control the direction of the waves so that by working together, you can aid each other so that you can do different actions that you normally can't with just wind, like have the wind and water move in the same direction for faster movement or adjust each other's movements to make the directions more exact.
