Wow, number of ships doubled! Still, can't see changing starting with the Capital Ship, hate losing a turret; hell I'd give up all hard points for a sixth turret. Mixed impressions on the missle-jammer. Wondering if the game now increases the frequency of missle laden enemies, forcing this option. My observation is that it only affects guided missles (vs standard) and not effective in a nebula. Anyone know for sure? The new Particle Cannon packs a wallop, but unless Deathray has been nerfed or availability has been scaled back, don't see it replacing my Death Ray endgame strategy, which previously, resulted in total domination. Was hoping to the steam versions tactical ship controls make it into the update, not huge, but pc ship control is far more intuitive. I am liking the new frontend gui up as well as the game speed toggle. Nice work Bug Byte!
On my iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.2 - after the update - the main menu is screwed up. I can't play the game. I keep hitting the play icon, but it triggers the mute/unmute icon. and I can't get anything else to trigger...
also on my 4S, guess it's a matter of scaling, a common mistake by devs that don't test games on older devices. roll back to previous version for now.
Greetings! The PC launch went good, thank you very much. Nothing exceptional but it definitely helps us continue on! So a success in that sense. Now we hope we can keep the sales up at a reasonable level. Sorry to hear about the iPhone 5 and 4 issues! We did a beta test before this update with quite a few people, some 40-50 installs from our fans and there were no such problems reported. So very unfortunate that none of them had an older device then. We will get on this issue ASAP. P.S. Nothing has been changed about the frequency of missile laden enemies
Love the update. Something very satisfying about this game, despite it being fairly simple. Endless hard mode with three valiants at the moment. I'll try the harbinger next.
Fixed the issue and submitted the update to the App Store. Hopefully it arrives soon. Please review the game on the App Store, that would help us a lot! We're going to announce a new game soon at our forums: http://battlestation.fi/forums Be sure to register there if you want to be playing early versions of our new games!
Definately enjoying the updates, especially since it seems more challenging. Either my established build approach is no longer as effective, and/or the "hard" difficulty is now a bit "harder". Specifically, mid-game, (end of 2 through 3) I'm experiencing unexpected end-game defeats, where I'm otherwise rollin' through the level (like a boss) and suddenly find myself significantly outgunned and unable to escape. Knowing when to flee an lick your wounds is an essential part of a successful strategy, but what I'm talking about is being so outgunned, fleeing is never an option. Don't get me wrong, it's actually a good thing, and to some degree, has always been the case, but since the update, this seems to occur more frequently, or at least, when it does, the risk wad not otherwise apparent. Sure, this often occurs when unseen fleets move into the same system, but what I'm noticing, is that I will encounter an enemy(s) that have significantly more firepower (dps specifically) than their same-level counterparts. Perhaps it's just just rng, perhaps intended, either way, I'm struggling to finish on "hard" difficulty, when previously, I would own it. Again, this is a good thing, probably wouldn't still be playing if I wasn't challenged. The situation brings to mind a possible future enhancement: probes, and/or scouts; units that allow you to see the systems exact contents. The difference: Scouts, take up a hanger, but reusable If they survive their patrol. Probes, can be stored and launched from cargo bay up to one system away, but remain deployed.
gmattergames. We enhanced the AI a bit to not sit around alone in the later levels as much as they did before. So now they try to group up a little more to provide some more sensible challenge. Glad you like it!
Great game! Also really glad with the update. Only thing that puzzles me a bit: what is the use of the new 7 ships? I tried all of them, and I think they are all far inferior to Harbinger and Valiant.... Granted, speed has improved, but why has the number of turrets has been reduced so much?
They are custom ships by our Kickstarter backers. So that's why they are a bit weird. The order of unlocking the ships could be better but since the game has been out already so it makes it a bit tricky to alter the list.
Finally found this game & downloaded it. First few minutes playing was fun. I think I'm going to like this. Wish I'd found it earlier.
We ran into some trademark troubles and so we have been forced to change the name of the "Battlestation" series to something else. We have chosen a new name now and are ready to roll out an update in 2-3 weeks. We will update the game with 6 new playable ships at the same time, 5 of them alien ships! This was our mistake 2-3 years ago when we chose the name "Battlestation" for the series, you live and you learn Stay tuned for the update!
Battlestation: Harbinger is now Battlevoid: Harbinger. Ran into some trademark troubles We updated the game with some new playable ships and put it on sale for $0.99! Enjoy.
