Indeed! We are trying to improve things all the time. This was a much needed feature, especially for the new players.
I bought this game a while ago but never played it. Tonight I did but there is nowhere near enough info in the tutorial to understand what is going on. Is there a comprehensive tutorial, manual, or video about how to play this game?
Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel It takes some time to get into the game. But the most important things is to buy some turrets Then, grind some scrap and upgrade points by choosing battles you can take. If you are in trouble stay close to a Battlestation and jump out of fights back to the Battlestation sector. Use the right side scanner in the star map to choose the specific location in a sector you jump into. Remember to pick up items left behind (Green inventory icon will have a red question mark when there is something floating around in space). You can get missions from Battlestations, and your main mission is to go to the green rotating sector in a star map. Good luck, Commander! You'll get the hang of it!
I hate to be the one to mention this... but every game restarts my progress at level 1 again, (similar to release version) so I'm unable to unlock new ships Latest update 5s 9.2
Bummer! You need to get the data erased somehow, uninstall and install again if nothing else. There is another trick you can try. Play the game on hard a couple of times. Just die right away and do this enough times to get to level 2. Then close and restart and see if it sticks.
Not sure how I missed this on initial release, it's brilliant. At first glance, it looks like just another vanilla 2-d top-down space-action-rpg, but it's not. There's a risk-reward element that really adds the kind of tension and excitement that can only come with RL perma-death. The initial challenge is learning how to best utilize available space and resources for the most effective weapon and defensive systems, not to mention, knowing when to flee. Overal, I found the game most challenging in the initial turns, when your ship is the weakest, with the biggest threat being enemy fighters and missles. It seams, in terms of upgrades, that there's an initial hump to get over, but once you do, you can engage most fleets with confidence. I've finally managed to establish a game that's spanned multiple levels and play sessions, which is great, because it further elevates the risk-reward tension; I may just have to cry when I lose this game. A few things could be better, but that would be nitpicking. This game is solid!
Thanks for the tips Admiral, I tried them both in succession and all is working perfectly again. Also thanks for always stopping by for support, it means a lot to everyone here and shows how much you care about Battlestation.
Yeah a lot of features were added becouse beta testers asked for them so Admiral really is listening to us
I think the most important things when started playing this game is to buy and upgrade the bolter drones
Anyone else having this issue: I continue to have issues with pickup/delivery quests not triggering reward upon completion. It appears straight forward, enter the system, press the station, press the delivery icon. Problem is, it does not consistently trigger reward, in fact, I'd say 1 in 5 times it works. The description of the delivery package simply says to store it in your hold until you reach its destination. Transferring "selling" it to the stations hold is definitely not the correct way, but neither is pressing the delivery button. Am I an idiot, or is this a known issue? EDIT: Yes, I am an idiot, delivery missions are three-part. #
I think some quest require a more than 1 times pickup/delivery, the description of the quest when you accept it's not clear. Sometime i thought i've just clear the quest but i dont receive anything, i turn on the map, and there are 2 or 3 more things to pickup/delivery
Plasma Bombers do not follow orders. They ignore ships that are marked and fly off to whatever is closer :l
I think dev team need to do something with those bomber, because of player dont allow to focus on small ship. So with player, we've forced to focus attack on the big ship and ignore those small ship for later. But the AI is not, they can shot down all of our aircraft first and maybe just use some high cooldown weapon like laser cannon,... to focus player later. So the bomber is ridiculous useless because of slow speed and slow build speed xD
For me, bombers are only unfair when they position themselves out of the visible play area (which is kinda rediculous), but it's usually only one. Thing is, if I'm in a situation where I'm concerned with one offscreen bomber, I'm probably already going down.
that's why you should focus on long range weapon at the mid to late game and remember to have some small laser turret onboard to help take out incoming missile
We are back at it! Started working on the PC user interface today, some new features will also be implemented. Do check Harbinger out on Steam and wishlist and follow if you like the game http://store.steampowered.com/app/396480/
