Ah so basically we can have access to every skill in the game if we keep replaying or is there a limit to replays? Also what about our gear when we do a replay? I can imagine it would take a lot of work to increase the difficulty on extra plays. Also like someone I said I believe some kind of online play would be great and definitely more used for this type on game than on your other where you said barely anyone used it.
I'm guessing gear is free range? Like gear has certain stats and the player decides what they want to specialize in. This works a lot better than class restricted gear, which limits exploration and player creativity. I'm really looking forward to this , I love all the other titles you guys have made especially "OMG Pirates!".
Current plan: no limit on replays, so you can acquire every skill, or see different endings to different quests. Items don't carry over at the moment, just cus I think it would be a little boring to be all-powerful from the very beginning. Carrying over your skills alone gives you some advantage for sure, but doesn't completely spoil the game. Not yet. Posted some comments regarding this on our blog: http://mikamobile.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-quick-holiday-update.html Almost all gear is completely "free range". There are a few exceptions - heavy armors (the likely choice for those learning knight/paladin skills) tend to require a minimum amount of endurance to wear. Also, some equipment options require that you have a specific passive skill equipped to use it, specifically bows, two-handed weapons, shields, and dual wielding. In the end, some combinations of skills and equipment won't really make much sense, but there's a lot of opportunity to cleverly combine things that most games wouldn't allow.
Thanks for the update! Really looking forward to this, thinking I'll start off as being a necromancer and likely play a lot! I'm usually a wizard or Mage of sorts on RPGs being able to have other skills will help me greatly as I get very jealous of other classes abilities and tend to end up with multiple characters and now I'll only need 1!
Hate to break it to ya but there won't be a surprise release any time soon. You'll get at least a week's warning when it's done, as we'll gladly spread the word once the game is submitted, after which it's usually a week before approval. Anyway, I still have many things on the to-do list first! "Winter" is as specific as I'll be right now. To ease the wait I'll try to trickle out some screenshots from time to time.
Flabbergastajjaowowjwiwos ;-; ughhhhhh. This game is the one I'm most excited for next to Mines of mars. But I'm glad you guys are taking your time, it's going to be a great game I can already tell.
Winter as in like another 9 months or winter as in it's still winter now? Anyway I prefer a game to be done properly and not rushed I'm just a very impatient person! Looking forward to it though!
Yes, I'm talking about this winter. To put it in perspective, this is what's already done: All major systems (combat mechanics, dialog, AI, controls, pathfinding, etc) All environment art tiles, props etc All player abilities/animations All enemy models Over 200 pieces of equipment, most of which feature unique art Title screen, menus, the initial tutorial Most enemy animations/behaviors ...and lots of miscellaneous junk The remaining stuff to do: Finish remaining enemies/bosses Build more levels out of these parts Write more dialog/quests Final balance tweaks
cant wait Battleheart was one of the first games i got "hooked" on in iOS. I'll gladly pay 3.99 or 4.99 as long as its not still inundated with iAP. I know there will be some optional ones but I also don't want a free model either. Keep at it Mika
