Hi, first off, I never played/liked an RPG but I am very much enjoying this one. Quick questions: I accidentally killed the guards who were watching the witche's book. But the door behind them is locked. Does it mean I can't finish this quest, or is there a way to open it? Everybody is talking about summoning pets. How do I do that? Or do I need a certain level first? Thanks!
Impressive! I just finalized my arena build which pretty much should not require any high level gear to work. Got a score of 376... since I am way above lvl 50, I activated insane difficulty to lessen the lvl advantage. Sadly, the damage of the creatures does not amplify as well, but I only spent skill points until I unlocked every skill of every class, so if anyone replicates it, he or she should be able to achieve a similar result. Stats are not important in this build, Slay Living kills are kills. ;D Active skills: [Necro]Mass Hysteria [Witch]Horror [Knight] Shield Wall [Battlemage]Aegis [Ninja]Smoke Bomb [Paladin]Radiance [Necro]Soul Mass [Necro]Slay Living Passive skills: [Knight]Shield Training [Barbarian]Adrenaline Rush [Battlemage]Twin Disciplines [Ninja]Impending Doom [Ninja]Silent Assassin [Necro]Aura of Disease I might add a video later today. PS: I tried playing around with staff/spell damage gear and Aegis, but it didn't work well. PS2: It would be awesome if scores above 200/300 would result in another or an additional piece of loot. PS3: Can you really go on forever with your build @512? Are there no cooldown gaps at all?
[1] Witch Book: They dropped a key. You may have not looted it then left the zone. If that is the case, you can't complete the quest. Mika has said that this will be fixed in another patch. Source: [2] Pets: The Necromancer and the Ranger have pets (Skeleton, Mummy, and Wolf). They also have passives that increase the effectiveness of pets by 50% each.
Your spells have no cooldown with the Premed + Song combo. Premed makes the next spell not trigger a cooldown, and Song resets Premed(and all other skills). With radiance, all monsters are knocked down forever. Blood Magic is only to make the arena run go faster, as if you stack +crit damage (50 from chest, 100 from trinket, 100 from passives) you will do ~3k damage to everyone on screen every 2-3 seconds. So you can do 1-100 very very quickly, as everything gets 1 shot or 2 shot except mummies and ogres. I literally spam the 4 spells one after the other non-stop for however long the arena run takes (1-2minutes for 100). Premed > Song > Blood > Radiance You can actually take damage. Caster mobs and archers occasionally shoot you if you cast Radiance too early after the waves spawns (they are invincible for a short time in their spawn animation) or you cast it too late (they shoot you right before you get the spell off). Also, the lizards and giants can't be knocked down while using their jump attack on you. So yes, if monster damage scaled indefinitely you would eventually be 1 shot regardless or gear at some point, probably in the 1000s. Also, sometimes you can, by human error, not use premed on song, and then you can't do anything for 45 seconds. I took a few other crowd control skills if I ever do accidentally fail and do this. I guess it happens once every couple arena runs if I'm not looking at the screen while doing 100 mob runs. The best part is you can do this at low level. At level 1 new game plus I went to Sealed Cave for 5minutes to get level 15 and then I started arena 100+ runs. So if you wanted to switch your stats, you can easily start a new game and hit 30 in 10-20minutes. You also don't need any gear or passives to do this, so you can use Eggs and the bard chest/passive for Exp.
Thanks for your answer! The Dungeon has an exclamation, mark, but there ist no key, even after today's update. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next one.
Are you sure activating Insane damage doesnt affect damage, because in my game it definitely is. Monster can kill me twice as fast in Insane damage compared to normal
Could you explain this a bit more? What do you start with, how does it allow you to level so fast so early?
Yes, trust me I know. You may run into trouble with monsters that once they get close to you, they hit for insane damage, like the red slime. You literally need twice the time to kill one, so the window of imminent danger seems twice as high. Mathematically, it's a placebo though.
What's the best way to level up quickly in a brand new game (not NG+)? I feel like switching up but don't want to spend hours getting back up to level again...
Well I tried it and yes, probably the best possible build for arena. I hope you don't mind if I tweaked it for further invulnerability and increased burst. Active Skills (in that very order): [Ranger]Premeditate [Bard]Song of Inspiration Note: At the start of your arena run, skip those two. [Knight]Shield Wall [Monk]Empty Body [Knight]Defend (it causes you to not lose any health while casting Blood Magic - possibly an exploit/bug) Note: These skills are included in the queue once enemies become dangerous. Or, if you are brain afk, just hit the whole action bar over and over again. [Paladin]Power Infusion (real game changer, simply buffing Radiance by another 50%) [Witch]Blood Magic [Paladin]Radiance Note: I put these two skills at the end so that if a cd reset occurs, you don't even think about clicking at the very beginning of the combo but instead, click Blood Magic again and hit Radiance in the process. Passive Skills: [Witch]Drain Life [Barbarian]Adrenaline Rush [Knight]Shield Training [Wizard]Student of the Mind [Wizard]Wild Magic [Battlemage]Arcane Potency One question remains: Which crit effect gear do you have, and where did you get it?
How high a level are you to make this build? Considering all the trees you have to go down and the stats I'd require I'm guessing endgame?

Dimir's Infinite Arena At Level 1 with no gear For those just tuning in, I found the BEST arena combo. You are invincible the entire duration of the arena, and you hit everyone on screen with auto crits. This does not require any gear, but if you do, spellpower and crit damage greatly increase the speed. At level 1, I was able to get to wave 40 before it got extremely slow and boring. Skills: Premeditation (Ranger) Song of Inspiration (Bard) Blood Magic (Witch) Radiance (Paladin) Last Stand (Berserker) Aegis (Battlemage) Option skills: Slay Living (Necromancer) Passive: Arcane Potency (Battlemage) Lethality (Ninja) Mass Destruction (Wizard) Devout (Paladin) Coup De Grace (Rogue) Optional Skills: Favored Soul (Bard) DO NOT USE ANY LIFE STEAL OR REGEN. Skill use: Premed > Song > Blood Magic > Radiance Until you have <30% HP. Then use: Premed > Song > Aegis > Blood Magic > Last Stand > Radiance Feel free to use Slay Living on Mummies, Ogres and Scorpions at high wave counts. You are invincible forever, and do VERY high AoE damage to every on screen. If you want to improve your damage, get trinkets with crit damage, and the chest item with crit damage from the arena. If possible, use a staff, as all your damage is from spell power, and max INT only. I made a level 1 to test the build, and I can go forever. I'm now around level 40, with every point in INT, and I do 4k crits so waves 1-20 for gear farming are extremely quick and easy. Note that you do not NEED to use Last Stand, as every mob is being knocked down with Radiance for longer then your next Radiance cast. The issue is, at low levels, you will occasionally get 1 shot by mobs that just spawn. You have open skill slows, so you can add damage buffs to them if you want, however, they are very unsafe to use at high wave counts. Candle (Trinket) +50% crit damage. There's an arena chest thats 5% crit and 50% crit damage. Radiance works off of spell damage, so it's better to use a staff, but your gear really doesn't matter, because I can now safely infinite arena at LEVEL 1. I got to wave 40 before it becomes extremely tedious I used the Paladin +50% and the Barb +40% for a while, its actually SLOWER to cast it than to just spam the combo again and again. I've timed it. Newer, safer combo: Premed > Song > Blood Magic > Radiance until low HP. Then use the barb invincibility and keep it on forever. Use the battlemage absorb to block Blood Magic damage. You need to run 0% life steal and regen.
Currently 80-ish. You'll unlock everything at around lvl 65, and that's what my stats are. I haven't any besides the necessary ones.
What do you mean by "finishing the game"? Kill the last boss at level 14 which is impossible or re-start another character with all his stats and skills? Is there such an option?
Lv and stats Can anyone tell me their high level stats points? I want to see the comparison.mine look bit weak
I found Rogue the easiest in the beginning. Can later take on Ranger skills and they work well together, IMO.
