Gear: The Scourging Inferno Robes of the Shadowmancer 2 x Choker of the Red Feast (you don't even have to touch the potions until wave 18-20 because you get a good 20% of your damage output back in health) Active Chain Lightning Thunderbolt Glacial Spike Meteor Conflagrate Blizzard Teleport Time Stop Passive Staff Master Mass Destruction Student of the Mind Spell Eater Wild Magic Elementalist It's pretty simple; your highest priority targets are those goddamned heal-spamming cloaked skeletal liches because they heal everyone and everything every two seconds and make it impossible for you to progress unless killed quickly. So you teleport next to them, use Blizzard to stun them, cast Glacial Spike and/or Chain Lightning while they're still stunned; when they get up and before they heal you use Stop Time and cast all your remaining offensive spells (Meteor, Chain Lightning again). If they get up after all that, cast Conflagrate to have them running (and not healing) while you hit them. By that time, they're definitely within one Glacial Spike of death. You can teleport away from the mass of other guys hitting you while they're down, but it takes away your precious few seconds to smash them with spells. The point is, you have to keep the magic users with any sort of healing ability off their feet and preferably make them stay that way. Next: all other mages because you don't need 6 meteors on top of you, after that the archers and anyone else doing ranged damage, particularly the explosive arrow guys. The rest is just an afterthought, really, since you can outrun them with teleport. Also - you need to get rid of the green trolls quickly. They summon too many archers. EDIT: I just realized Silence (Battlemage) might be more useful than Conflagrate if you have 4-5 magic users on the board. It's got the same duration but cancels all spellcasters apart from you (it doesn't deal damage though). Also, instant CD helps. Mine is only 10% but I get lucky a lot.
What do ppl think is the best statless build, i know before you would just song/prep into radiance. I would like to try to work something that could get to the legendary items 100+ arena with out stats, my goal is to create a lvl 50+ char without assigned stats sitting on most of the gear choices in my inv so i can put together fast builds and be ready for extra content.
Sorry, the build's proved to be a failure, I only tried once in casual mode before. There is a solid but slow way to get 100 kills stat-less, but it still requires certain trinkets to be viable. And I can't post here, MikaMobile might just see and fix it, like they fixed song+premed Well, possibly they already know. I've seen it on wiki.
Any fun builds out there? Ones that consist of abilities/classes that are considered out-of-the-norm.
Interesting thing happened - I just defeated the giant spider using a wizard/barbarian/battlemage build with mainly melee attacks (flame weapon / mana strike / whirlwind / reckless attack, and it counted as dealing sufficient elemental damage to pass the test!
Levelling guide? Does anyone have a good levelling guide? or general tips for levelling? I'm level 11, Rogue/Ninja and I am getting crushed at the Sealed Cave. I even picked up the Paladin's Aura of Light to try and help my survivability, but I still can't outlast the second wave of blobs. I'm guessing this is an area that requires solid AOE skills, of which I have none. Any advice?
As far as general tips go, I'd say just stick to dungeons at your level until you can handle arena, since the Sealed Cave trick was patched. Rogue / Ninja is pretty fragile until you get some big damage skills and life steal, so for the sake of survivability you may want to splash in control skills from other jobs, such as Bard's Charm (I recommend Charm to everyone), Necro's Skeleton / Mummy, or Ranger's Pet. Unfortunately, most of the other good crowd control skills (Mass Hysteria, Horror, Ki Blast, Radiance, Intimidate) are high level skills... from jobs besides your own.
Really glad I found this thread, it's been invaluable to me in playing this incredible game. So, thanks! On to my question- I'm doing arena runs now and can consistently get over 100 kills, but I'm literally getting the same 3 legendaries over and over: Divinity (twice) Bael's (thrice) and the monk glove Feung's whatever (twice). What gives? Anyone else seeing the RNG favor the same drops like this?
Which cave are you talking about? The first or second one? I didn't have enough AoE to take down the lv11 cave boss, but the lv10 cave was quite doable. With my rogue / ninja, I realised that you cannot afford to stand and tank. You need to be ready to keep moving around, taking down the ranged enemies, and generally rely on spamming your attack skills to survive. So a general sequence might go like this: (While cloaked, pull lever, with patch, only the 3 blobs will appear). 1) Try to position yourself so that only 1 blob can attack you at a time. Spam your attacks, then run around while waiting them to recharge. Focus in taking down one foe at a time. I usually focus on killing one blob and the 2 resulting blobs first before targeting the next. 2) When the skeletons pop up, focus first on the mage (using karma kick to close the distance if necessary, then the archers, and finally the melee). Finish off any blobs still surviving at this moment. 3) Same with the spiders, take them down ASAP to avoid the poison damage from stacking up. Remember, keep moving, position yourself to avoid being surrounded, use karma kick to get away if need be. If you time it right, you should be able to cloak yourself in between the 1st and 2nd wave.
Here is the link to the spreadsheet I "borrowed" from DanRiverBrew and added functionality that will help you plan out a build. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByCzmmMxU3CTZTVWY3dKZkZsZUk/edit
Just curious, when you go battlemage, do you pick Armour which priorities armour or spell power? I am trying out a knight/battlemage which splashes paladin for aura of light and barbarian for colossal weapons and whirlwind. I find that while I have excellent DPS and crowd control, I tend to be quite squishy, and the aura of light healing doesn't come up often enough to be reliable. I like how Armour makes me more tanky, but the Mage robes seem to give my elemental weapons more damage. Current skills are the 3 elemental weapons, ghost hand, mana strike, whirlwind and cleave. Lv17. Thanks.
Does the Leader passive skill affect summoned mummies/skeletons? I was hoping that Leader and Army of Doom would stack for super pets, I'm not sure if the game has any distinction between "companions" and "minions" in the skill description.
I suggest doing a New Game+ on Insane. The increased health and damage if the monsters is necessary to make anything a challenge when you're rocking all skills.
From what I can tell, you need 51 levels in order to master all skills and spells. Has anyone else figured this out yet? This HAS to be done in the following manner: Str: 5 Dex: 21 Int: 10 Skl: 5 End: 5 Cha: 33 To get the Generalist Skill at level 18. After that, all other skills are discounted at 30%. So, I took the stat needed for the highest skill requirement, multiplied it by .7 and got these. Str: 31 Dex: 27 Int: 34 Skl: 28 End: 27 Cha: 33 Charisma is the only one who has to be the exact total since you need 33 to get Generalist. Once you equip Generalist, then you can get Song of Inspiration for free (in skill points). So, for anyone looking for the quickest way to unlock all the skills in your first run, I believe these are the numbers you should be shooting for. I have been doing this build and I am at level 41 for my Bard, so, I will be able to confirm or deny if nobody else has calculated this yet.
So, I updated the spreadsheet to account for the Generalist skill. If you achieve Dex: 21 Int: 10 Cha: 33 It automatically discounts every other skill by 30%. If you don't have the generalist skill and you have those stats, get the skill. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByCzmmMxU3CTZTVWY3dKZkZsZUk/edit?usp=sharing
