I did try everything Wizard-only, even elemental-only (so no Teleport, Time Rift) still doesn't work... I'll try again but to me, it seems bugged. It's such a great game I won't care even if I can't complete it though.
My suggestion is do not try monks, lol, at least in current version. If you insist fighting with fists, it equals to having a -33% damage reduction permanent debuff on you.
I have tried two builds now, one is Jack of All Trades Battlemage/Paladin/Ninja and pure DEX/SKILL Rogue/Ninja. Still more interested in playing melee so I am thinking of trying pure END monk with Grit passive and maybe 65DEX for dodge. What do you think? I am aware that the growth rate of Fist weapon damage as a function of STR and/or DEX is not great but thought maybe pure END with Grit can results in a better build.
Lol, thanks for the build! Your build from #408 gets better every time I play. I guess my play style is getting better at it too. I will try this build as well! Let's see if I'm smart enough......... Thanks!!!
Anyone who can build an arena setup WITHOUT ninja abilities, is a true battleheart master, and will earn my respect.
I actually tried pure END Grit monk, thought that's the best option, till I realized ninjas or barbarians can do the same(pure END with Grit), being their worst choice, still out damage monks' best choice, so, well. And as if being outdamaged isn't enough, WindWalk(which is the only reason for monk to be attractive to me) can't really dodge spells, I died several times during the animation of WindWalk, and finally give up... If you still want to play melee, why not try colossal weapon build?
ONE SHOT the Chaos Tower Ninja Boss(lvl 26) at LVL 6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually I was lvl 13 in the video, but I didn't spend any stats after lvl 6. I spent 15 in DEX only to equip Cowl of Red Fang(20 DEX), that's all, 20 DEX, 5 for anything else. Check the video YouTube: video
I know many posters here are likely already high - level,or playing NG+, but I must say this game does have a bit of strategy involved rather than just rushing in and spamming skills. I initially mentioned how I had problems with my knight at low levels, and I am now having better luck with it. One trick is recognizing your foe's attack patterns. For me, this meant realizing the melee orcs and ogres will unleash a special charge attack every 3 strike, and be ready to move out of the way when that happens. I usually rush in, stun and finish the Mage, then finish off the other foes in order of toughness. The knight is actually surprisingly tanky, and knowing how to evade hits saves precious hp which stretches my potion supply longer. I am now completing lv8-9 quests with 3-4 potions remaining (have a ring of regen, but don't abuse it). I will continue with my pure knight but it's definitely looking more promising now.
Thanks for the info.. Such a shame, Monk was my fav in the original Battleheart.. Probably will still try it if I am bored, but I will try another build for now..
OH my goodness, that's great! Out of curiosity... How did you get 2 legendaries at level 13? (used different set of skills?) Also, do you mind posting your passive as well? This is not the same build you mentioned earlier, right?
@kimsj It's much more fun to find out yourself. 2 obvious passives are 10% dagger damage and lethality. Other 3 all have their clues in the video, the last one doesn't matter much. I did use a "summoner + slay living" build for Colosseum grinding to get legendary gears. And Check out my latest video, LVL 8 ONE SHOT the Final Boss! I improved my play style and skill order for a bit more damage. Again I was lvl 15 after battle, but stat-wise, my char can be seen as lvl 8.
At how many arena kills can I expect to get wizard equips? Seems like I keep getting the same things by dying around 100, 150 or 200 kills.
Everytime ive been to the arena, i havent surpassed 200 kills, and the legendaries ive got are: Scourging inferno Gloom blade Tomb caller Wither blade Hurricane Those fist ones Shadowmancer
Didn't touch the Ninja on my first character.... And didn't need to because I simply blasted everything to bits and pieces with my Lvl 50 Wizard. It's harder to play the Wizard than some others though, I only realize that now that I've started my second, non-magic character. I have no trouble getting to Wave 17-18 with a Level 11 Ninja/Rogue/Ranger mix, whereas with the Wizard I had to be far higher to get the same results. But I still prefer good ol' magic and will play that character in any (hopefully upcoming) expansions. Also, guys, regarding the crashes... Don't know about the rest of you, but I've realized my game crashes only when using some Rogue skills, particularly the ones involving throwing/daggers. I've never had a single crash in 25+ hours of playing the Wizard, or now that I've scrapped the Rogue skill tree on my second (Ninja) character.
Quick question:- is Ki Blast damage based on Dex or Str? I made 303 kills in the arena with my level 50 wiz/witch/Necro build, would have been more but I got distracted by the TV! SKILLS: Tornado (Blizzard crashes my ipad for some reason) Mummy, Radiance, Premed (post patch), song of inspiration, lullaby - get out of jail crowd control, teleport (essential for any Mage build) and aura of light. PASSIVES: Staff master, arcane potency, army of doom, wild magic, impending doom, student of the mind. GEAR: The scourging inferno - legendary staff Robes of the shadowmancer - legendary robes X2 Almanacs Mummy is a nice meat shield and allows you to wait for the premed radiance combo, but then tornados do a great job of keeping mobs from you as you wait for cool downs. Lullaby is essential for those times when you have nothing left to fight with....be aware that tornado will nullify most of lullaby. I love my spell caster.
