finish Bard as soon as possible for Generalist skill
    21 DEX
    10 INT
    33 CHA

and that gives you a passive for cheaper skills for everything else

    Out of curiousity...
Can you make a NG + from a NG + char?

Just learned about this thread. Apologies if someone already posted something similar but this is some formula I worked out after learning about scrolling the stats column.

    Dodge: (DEX-5)/2; capped at 30%
Crits: (SKILL)/2; and it is.. Wait for it.. Not capped. My experiment char has 190 SKILL and since I use Cowl of Red Fang my Crit % is 100%. The Crit even can go beyond 100% (edit: with a crit boosting item equipped, I haven't level this char up and see if 202 Skill gives me 101% crit)
    HP: 475 + (END*5) + (LVL-1)*10

Has anyone tried killing the last boss using a pure bard? Damage output seems quite low.

Haven't tried yet, but I started as a pure bard. As a pure bard, you need to rely on generalist skil to learn other classes' skills. Now at level 35 and using impending doom, tornado and blizzard and grinding my level high enough to kill the boss. Even then, I will have to use DoT to kill the boss, not crazy DPS skills.

469 kills. My best arena run thus far.

I used Danriverbrew's list except instead of corpse explosion, I used Mass Hysteria.
Mass, I feel, is better than corpse explosion because it gets the enemies away from you and gets them attacking each other instead of you, which can give you a very needed reprieve to heal or allow your skills to recharge.

    Lol...

If you already knew this, that's good...
I'm farming exp in the arena, and each time I level up and come to the city center to learn the new skill or go back to the arena, I had to go around the map, cross the bridge, and time wasted and chances of encountering random battles were just frustrating...

Well, just found out that you can still go into the arena from "right above" the ritual site. Nice short cut right there.

I did a little bit of testing with the Battlemage, and it looks like Mana Strike damage is derived directly from the weapon in your primary hand.

I was trying out a BM/Ranger hybrid equipped with only a bow, and it was using my empty hand to calculate the damage for Mana Strike. So that's right out. It looks like the most efficient Battle Mage will still be a Barbarian/Battlemage, since their weapons get the most out of their primary stat.

This might be a stupid question but does stealth ruin the game. I had a pretty good ranger going on and I decided to add rogue skills since they share similar requirements. Now I can tiptoe through the dungeons which seemed kind of pointless. Maybe I'm missing something.

    New arena high score.

So, after something like 115-120 rounds, the monsters are so tough that I finally just got 1 shot killed by some guy.
This build is seriously good and doesn't use any of those radiance-premed-song tricks!

    Well, not really...
Stealth definitely adds a good damage on top of your skills, and, yes, you can go through quickly...
But ultimately, you will need to defeat the boss/quests, and you will need to face the monsters at the end of the dungeons anyways...
And in order to defeat those, you will need to level up, killing monsters. The sealed cave doesn't work anymore after the update.

That said, you can completely skip all the quests/bosses and go straight to the arena... and this can be done without stealth.

I guess it depends on your play style.
In my case, I wanted to get a NG+ char with all skills unlocked, so I started as a pure bard, and when I was ready, I went straight to the arena to level up, and this was done with half of quests/bosses not defeated.

When I make a NG+ char, then, I'm going to do all the quests/dungeons/bosses, because to me, that's the fun part.

You're using stealth in a boring way. It used to be good when in the sealed cave, you could active all the mobs at once.

Also, stealth gives a 100% critical hit chance, with your first attack in stealth, so good for bosses. You can also use stealth with regen trinklets in arena, when the next rounds about to start, whip on stealth and you'll get full hp again.

  18. What do you mean? This doesn't work for me. The game automatically forces me to use the bridge, no matter where I am or where I tap.

Don't tap on the arena, it will force you to go around. Tap on a spot that is closest to the arena but on this side of the water.

See a little peninsula right above the ritual site? Try to stand on the tip of that peninsula and you will be given the option to tap the arena.

  20. Thanks, but still not working. All I managed to do was get three encounters in all my tapping. :p
