I love the lack of a level cap, but if people want to cap their own games it wouldn't be hard. Just pick a level that you want your "cap" to be at, and simply stop spending stat points or buying skills.
New game+ Yeah, melee works, but, this game IMO is a bit harder, so don't expect walking into a same level dungeon and facerolling it. Also, and that's not just for this game, if you are building a tanky character, don't expect having the same damage output as a rogue/wizard.
OK, i'm baffled how did you create such a high crit on the king? I tested flame weapons + blood magic + stealth with shadowstep on the rock golem and i did 1300 damage... what am i doing wrong.
Wait, what do you mean? elaborate please. Soo... they level up loads to get loads of skill points... then duplicate the game and dump into 1 skill? or what? I dont understand how this strategy works. When you say restart, do you mean starting again from level 1? I need to know lol. I just had my first battle against the king, im level 38 and i got 1 hit from him. Lol, ok i need a good set up.
Hmm, does anyone know where exactly and what exactly are Brightstone and Doomvale? They are areas in the first game, but are not present here. Maybe some potential for additional content?
@Bamboo: in short, you grab all the skills you can (or flat-out all) in the first playthrough. Then you start a Newgame+, where you keep all your skills, but begin again at level 1 without any equipment. In the NG+, decide on a specialised build, and dump (almost) all of your skillpoints into that stat. E.g. Dexterity when you go for Ninja/Rogue-style dualwielding, Intelligence when you focus on Aegis/Magic, Endurance for Grit. As for the endboss: That blue charging circle attack is a one-hit kill. When he starts charging up, make sure to stay out of the circle.
Ahhhh. i understand now. ty but how do you get to keep all the skills in a new game? Surely in a new game everything is at the beginning, so you have nothing.
Guys, I need some help with the Wizard. I'm currently Lvl. 27 with all the skills, but I don't use Blizzard - I've exchanged it for Witch's Drain Life because I found it returns almost half the health bar when it kills something. I'm unable to survive without some form of healing. My stats are 106 Attack, 28 Armor & 97 Spellpower. I don't really have crits and stuff. The next path to unlock is Battlemage (I'm halfway there). I'm wondering which accessories I should use to gain Drain Life. It's currently, well... Zero. I need a combination to give me a high Life Drain instead of having to spend that extremely valuable skill slot on a basic Witch spell (and cast it, and wait for the recharge, etc. etc. etc. - it's totally wasteful). Any ideas for a Wizard-friendly Life Drain, please? P.S. We were talking about a kickstarter/DLC donation campaign... I've contacted Mika and they say it won't be necessary. Here's to hoping we get more...
choker of the red feast: +10% life drain vintage chardonnay: +5 weapon power, +5% life drain = total 15% life drain. Obviously you can just buy 2 chokers for 20% life drain, but w/e. It's helpfull btw.
Youll need to do some kiting early on, or alternatively, get the first bard skill! On a side note, Im running the same and Im now at level 28. Im having some problems with Colloseum... the highest Ive gotten is 96 and at that point my DPS cant catch up with the mobs health. Any tips on howI should proceed?
Are you in NG+? I mean I don't remember about how hard it could be in 1st playthrough, but if you get all the skills needed and start NG+, melee is the fastest and easiest to level up or to beat the game. I beat the lvl29 chaos towers boss at lvl 19 with some common gears within 40s. It seems you can actually get legendary weapons in these boss fight, if you beat it fast and at early levels, I got Spoiler 2 witherstrikes, 2 mad smith's gloomblade dozens of top tier trinkets, those are the things I once thought only as a reward in Arena.
Witch has a life leech passive for 5% in early skill order. I'm lvl 50, I still use it as my only life drain, since an accessory slot basically worth 2 passive slots. Or you can pick up aura of light from Paladin, 25% life steal for 10 seconds. Invest 2 more in CHA, you will get it.
I was talking about melee characters heading down the tank route. As for the difficulty, I think that when you start you have to get used to the game mechanics, avoiding stuff etc. Also, the class, and the way you play influence difficulty a lot. With a mage-type char I had trouble beating that fugitive hideout, but as a more tanky battlemage I breezed through. Btw, I found out a pretty nice and comfortable build for farming levels/legs in arena. Have a warr/pala with dual wield, high endurance, and Wrath+Aura of Light combo + Revenge for ranged takeout. You can just pop those 2, sit back and relax. If enemies don't die, just pop something like Radiance and they should be ready to pop again.
As this game stands right now, you are going nowhere from pure tank route, cuz you've got only 5 potions, sustain has to come from damage and vamp. That Revenge tip is nice tho, I guess I will try it on my barbarian. Ironically, the most tanky build is actually pure mage. My lvl 50 mage has 192 spell power, which means a 1000 hp Aegis, and it refreshes 15s or much less with impending doom passive. You get the idea.
Well Impending doom kinda shakes this approach to classes, because, whatever you choose to be, for arena you will always want that passive. Also, has this happened to anyone else: on my main I go to stealth between waves and it's completely fine, yet, on my alt, I go to stealth and still there will be 1 or 2 guys that can "see" me. Really getting annoying. >_> And @FateRiddle, I actually rolled a pala tank, and it was really cool, although palas do get those handy heals for sustain.
Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll up my Endurance to get that second-last Witch skill, and buy two Chokers. 25% passive Life Drain should be more than enough... The only problem is it's going to hurt my spell power. Maybe try grinding until I get the legendary Wizard gear from the Arena (no luck with it so far)..
