The final boss often instant-killed me with one of his spells. Is that an instant death effect spell or because my endurance/HP is too low?

I already having Toxic Affinity (25% less unholy effects) and Tainted Blood (increase 25% resistance unholy damage) as passive.

Because I spread my skill points around, which serves me well so far, I may have insufficient HP to deal with the final boss?

  3. I just finished my first play through. I played a Necromancer / Witch / Wizard and found it really fun. The game was really hard until I unlocked Summon Mummy, and then it got really easy for awhile. I'd use the Mummy (and the Bard's Charm, since it was so easy to pick up) to keep guys off of me while I nuked away.

I actually managed to beat the first chaos tower and boss at level 16. The final boss was an absolute beast for me, though. The mummy doesn't seem to scale very well (if at all) so he dies pretty fast to the extra enemies the boss summons. I ended up grinding to about level 40, and used a strategy with two troll amulets (+10 hp/second) and two life gain passives, and just ran away a lot while my DoTs killed him.

Started a NG+, not sure what I'll do yet. It's funny to see my spells hitting for 4 damage after seeing crits for around 3k before the end. :)

Can you pls gimme some advice here?
I started a rogue/ninja combo till lvl 14 And then i realize while it has great burst damage, its really lacking AOE damage, so at this lvl, dungeons tend to have tons of mobs.. Its quite difficult to do dungeons of my own lvl. Another thing is theres no health regen skills at this lvl, so i take a lot of damage and run out of pots really quickly.
Then i started another char of pally/knight/bard, i got to lvl 21, AOE damage was ok, a lot of self healing, but then i realize my burst damage is weak. Generally when there are two healers, i cant manage to burst down one quickly, and thats like a lvl 18 dungeon.

Im wearing pretty much best armor/weapon available at store and has all sorts of trinkets, im not sure which ones to wear. I mostly wear reduce CD ones.
    Any advice is welcome!

Morduin has the same charge-up spell that he had in the first Battleheart that will one-hit KO (OHKO) most characters. He'll do it once before he first summons adds and always does it when returning after summoning a wave of adds. You just need to keep an eye out for when he starts pulsing and is surrounded by a blue circle of light, that's his signal that he's about to detonate. Just back off, but don't forget that if you have auto movement toggled on that it will automatically try and walk you back in if you have him selected.

If you have a lot of hit points and defenses up, you can survive it, but it's best not to get hit by it at all. It's quite possible to beat the game with 5 Endurance, so don't worry about how you've allocated your stats.

You'll eventually get Blade Rush out of the Ninja line, which is a top-end gap-closer and AoE skill. Before then, though, you need to rely on your single target damage. I'd equip at least one life drain trinket if you're having problems with survivability, as that will turn all of your big attacks into heals. But your other trinket should be +crit/+crit effect as you should be killing most enemies with 1-2 hits. Also make sure you are running Stealth and pick off the most dangerous enemy out of every room in the dungeon. If you absolutely feel that you must have some AoE, splash into enough Str to grab Cleave from Knight (it's one of the first skills you can get); you may already have enough Str depending on how far you are into the Ninja tree.

For your other character, make sure you are running Charm. In a multiple healer scenario, simply Charm one of the enemy healers and go after the other. Once you get Radiance from Paladin, your life should become much easier. Charm enemy, then Radiance once Charm wears off to knock-down and interrupt if you still need time to kill. In a Str primary character, I strongly recommend investing in some Barbarian skills. Colossal Weapons have very high attack power, even your basic Power Attack and Divine Hammer skills will hit like trucks with a two-handed weapon equipped.

Most of the time I got killed because I was surrounded by mobs, with lots of spell casting effect hindering my view, and he just appeared next to me and I could not see him and back off fast enough.

At level 35 it maybe too tough unless I can kill him real fast (uber ninja/rogue)or DOT him and keep running away. Otherwise I can see myself dying many silly deaths because I could not run fast enough.

At higher levels, perhaps I could kill the summoned mobs faster and have a clearer view of the battlefield.

I went the route of jack-of-all trades and picked up many class skills. I enjoyed the game but it is probably not the best way to kill the last boss at lower level.

If you are playing a melee class, and on the last boss, i would recommend turning off the option "Auto Movement". it makes it a lot easy to move away from the boss when you aren't auto drawn towards him.

Also, as someone mentioned above, he casts the explosion pretty clockwork like, so wait to cast some of your skills until after his explosion, especially if u feel it's been several seconds since his last one.

Terrific analysis and info and an interesting read, thanks!

I beat the game using #2 wizard/necro/witch - used the mummy and pet wolf to keep enemies away and used blizzard, mass hysteria, meteor, tornado as AoE attacks.

    Wish the game was longer!

ninja/paladin seems like it'd be the easiest path through the game 1-20. Plus you can pick up most of the good bard stuff and rogue stuff while leveling.

Soon as you get impending doom, wrath, and aura along with favored soul and blade rush dual strike and smoke screen you should be good till end game.

  12. Am I imagining it that you can't pause? I would think opening your stats screen would pause the game, but the action seems to continue while it's open?

Yah, strangely, you cannot pause in combat.

just turn off your phone by clicking the top button...turn phone back on and you are where u left off in combat.

  15. Weird. And something that I hope gets fixed. This is a mobile game, after all...

change gear during combat at your own risk. I like it. keeps people for pausing right before a boss kill to equip all their XP or +gold gear.

Okay, so Strength doesn't influence the damage of light weapons. How about Strength related special abilities, like Power Attack and Cleave? I know I can perform Power Attack with a dagger. Does this work with other Knight (Strength) tricks as well. Maybe I can use some " low hanging fruit" in that skill tree so the Stats I already spent on Strength aren't wasted after all

  18. Thanks, that seems to work. I think I've probably done that before and not even realized it.

There are other ways to prevent that, like making it impossible to change gear in a dungeon. Or less strict, just impossible to change while there are enemies alive in the room? Mobile games need to be able to be paused. I play on the go quite a bit, and while I try not to keep the game in the background for too long in case it restarts, I do need to sometimes pause to look away from the screen. Using the button at the top is helpful, but I think it still needs a pause menu.

Bard is fun but tough! Level 13 of a fairly straight bard build and she just can't handle mobs or equal level bosses. No AOE. Closest I've got is a tick to chain lightning and a tick for swipe. Went for archery to stay on the fringes and divine hammer when beasties come close.

On most maps it's fun. Charm, disarm, heal song all rotate well into each other to clear pretty easy. Just the close space mobs - bard can't hang.

Seems I'd have to grind a lot and grab skellys from necro, the multishot off archer. Might be able to hang then...

Have to say Charm is probably the best opening skill or skill in general in the game. Followed by skeleton(s). I've got all my characters with charm. But the others are all lvl 20+ on the same time as bard lvl13: ranger, fighter, mage/necro/witch-brid.
