Do daggers have any benefit over swords assuming your not a rogue? Do they have a higher attack speed or dps?
Thanks for the information everyone - Yeah I definately got the quest when I hit level 20 and went back to visit the blacksmith for the first time since reaching it. BTW - I seem to have the same bug that some people are having with the active mission sign over the Capitol? It's been there since one of the very early missions and doesn't seem to go anywhere.
I don't think that the bugs with skeletons are completely fixed. I'm still getting a lot of crashes in the arena when summoning skeletons. Hope this gets fixed, I'm getting tired of having the game crash every time I get a good run going.
So how's the original Battleheart when compared to its successor? I'm ashamed to say I never actually played Battleheart, despite the myriad recommendations the TA community continues to give it.
Anyone else's mummy sometimes just stand around watching you instead of fighting? Before he was just following me as I teleported, when there were plenty of enemies for him to kill. This was in Midnight Canyon.
One quest i have ignored was the Lost in the Woods one where you need to find a guy for a spirit. I ignored it because...well i got lost each time i tried it. I was able to find my way out, but never completed the quest. Any tips or places i can find some help?
I wondered about this also. And does anyone know if the leader passive from the ranger buffs skeletons too? or just companions like the mummy and the hunting doge?
If you have more dex than str, it's better to use dagger as your main weapon, as wearing dagger will give you more attack power. Other than that (stat and rogue skills), i think it's better to use sword / mace / axe for melee.
I literally just did this quest. I just walked straight back until I came to a chest area and there were no more directions other than back and got the home signal in the corner. I went back one room and then walked to the left side of the screen exit and kept going that way for a couple screens (I counted so I knew where I started) and found the spirit guy for the quest. It then seemed that if I just went straight down I eventually went back to the entrance, I did reverse count back to where I started my left walking and then went south. Hope that helps.
Yup, basically every weapon has its own coefficient for stat benefits. Generally, most 1-handers scale with 70% of your strength, and 30% of your dex. Daggers are 80% dex, 20% str, and fists are 50/50. Colossal weapons are 100% strength. There's also a few weird variations, like the mercurial blade, which actually scales partially with str, dex and skill (the prime stats of the ninja). These are all factored into the power value shown on your character sheet, so there's no need to bust out a calculator.
Man I cannot beat the golem boss! I even leveled a few times and went back thinking that would help but no. Any tips or pointers for him?
Please no. I love a game without a level cap. That's one of the reasons I bought the game. I disagree with limiting progression when it comes to single player games. If I want to advance into infinite power instead of broaden my build, that should be my decision. Having no level cap doesn't prevent people from broadening their build, it's a matter of choice. Veto
Welp time to throw some points into skill, I'm gonna build myself an army! While I'm here, does charisma have any effects on minions in battle? And is the mummy's cooldown supposed to start immediately after I summon it, or is it working properly now where cooldown starts as soon as it dies?
I just hit lvl 20 and the blacksmith at the capital said he needs some better materials to make weapons. He said the ore is in a cave northwest. Anyone know where exactly this is? Having trouble finding it. Thanks! EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.
Hahaha, just finished the game before I realized I have been playing Battlemage wrong this whole time (didn't know Mana Strike CD is reset when you use another element weapon). One complain I have about this game though is how BM isn't really a great class, especially for all the bosses currently in this game. Backlash, for example, is too dependent on enemies' ability to give you negative status. It works great against spider queen, but that's about it. Silence is just sad since it won't work on boss despite the very short duration. Similar issue with Ghost Hand which its stun effect is useless against bosses, despite once again being very short duration. His passives are only so-so. I mean 10% chance for physical damage to initiates 100% critical in spell... I just don't see how that's functionally very different from a 10% all-around crit buff, lol, plus we don't even know when it procs! The uselessness on most of BM's skills just feel like it's not worth it to invest into the class after you get Flame Weapon for the 10% crit buff.... or skip the class entirely and just go Ninja? Aegis and Elemental Warding are like the only worthwhile skill to get (maybe Spelleater, but also very situation and thus RNG dependent). But if you want to make Aegis very viable you need some serious Instant CD reduction on your gear or else you will have a bad time waiting for its CD. Compare to Ninja, Ninja can basically cream every bosses available in this game and all he really needs is Twin Strike and 2 strong weapons (and a mobility skill to make things faster, i.e. Savage, Teleport). I mean this actually happened to me. I couldn't even come close to beating the final boss with my BM + Barb + Aura of Light + Wiz build. But after some leveling and pumping points into dex to get Twin Strike + Lethality, I just creamed the boss in one go... I mean seriously? I didn't even touch 50% of Ninja's skill tree. -_-? Maybe it's just how the bosses are designed that it heavily rewards classes with extremely good single target burst damage. Or maybe I am doing something wrong? I don't know. My BM/Barb/Wiz + a mixture of skills from other classes just isn't working out as great as I expected. It's really fun and has good AoEs and Crowd Control. But in the face of a boss most of those skills isn't really as useful as Twin Strike's insane damage or even poison's DoT. Plus there are some very strict constrains on gears for a BM, too. It's kind of given that you would go Colossal since you will have enough STR for 90% of barb's tree to maximize damage on your Mana Strike. Sure, he can go sword and board for extra defense, but it's kind of counter intuitive to go defensive since Knight and Paladin both needs END, making it a 4th stats you need to pump. And since armors that give spell powers have low armor, you end up with a extremely fragile AoE glass cannon at your hand, which is still viable due to its crowd-control ability but completely destroyed when he has to fight some serious boss because 90% of the CC doesn't work against Bosses. Plus, your accessory slots are most likely going to end up with Instant CD reduction since most of your skills that are worthwhile have high CD . We have Frenzy which speeds up CD recovery, but only for 8 seconds and takes up an Active slot for it, thus we lose yet another slot for an attack spell on top of our Element Weapon. Plus, bosses stop standing around to let you beat on them after your first 3 bosses or so, so Frenzy is a really stupid skill in terms of melee DPS. We do have Thunder Weapon Mana Strike for decent damage and it's ranged, but it's animation is just so damm slow! (and it's single target, unfortunately). Wizard tress is another issue. Tons of AoE, but the AoE in this game just doesn't give out that much damage. His only DoT (Incinerate? I don't know, I never used this spell because of how useless it is) doesn't even work on bosses!?!? And his ultimate spell... 5 secs Time Freeze... I don't even know what to say. Is 5seconds of stun really worth spending 48int for? That's only enough time for 2 active skills. Perhaps I am a little biased? I am going to run through this game with Ninja main + other supplements and see how it goes. But from the look of it, it will mostly be playing this game on Easy mode, compared to BattleMage.
