Dearest MikaMobile, Hope this finds you well. This game is an instant classic, hands down. You've created a masterpiece. I just have one question: Why are the monks gimped so much with their weapons? Was there a major design decision based around not letting them equip anything else [such as a bow or shield] with their hand weapons? Does the fact that they are equipped in both hands count for the Ninja abilities that require dual wielding? Why don't their weapons count as melee weapons for skill usage? Monk was my favorite class from the original, hands down, and I'm just wondering why they, of all the classes, can't equip anything secondary.
Just a design call - and it seemed like it would look weird to be punching away with a shield or bow in your hand. Fear not, monks are in no way crippled by this, honestly they we're the hardest class to balance in the end due to having really strong defensive skills and fairly bursty damage, they spent a lot of time being way overpowered, and still are very strong once they get more of their abilities. If anything they're just a bit of a late bloomer.
Loving this game! Definitely can see it going to the big consoles and PC if they choose to port it. Amazed it came out on ios first. Game of the year contender.
Loving the game. I feel like I might as well just delete all other games on my device, because this will last me such a long time. Hell, I'm still experimenting with all the basic classes to see which ones I like best. Feels like a real old-school game with the skill trees, not your usual mobile fare. And yet, it still feels very easy to play on-the-go. Just overall really well done. That said, I do wish there was a list of all the skills in-game so we could decide which ones to work towards. Since there doesn't seem to be one, I've started posting all the skills on my site. I'm going Thief/Rogue at the moment (didn't like Ranger), and will probably start the other classes just to see their first few skills. But if anyone wants to help out, please do. http://www.appunwrapper.com/2014/05/28/battleheart-legacy-walkthrough-guide/
Have you been able to get the Sneak Attack ability to work? If so, what weapons do you have equipped. I've got a Silver Dagger, but I'm dual wielding and the Sneak Attack never gets highlighted. I'll try I equipping my other weapon to see if that will work.
I just have the basic dagger I bought from the shop and it works for me. I first use Poisoned Knife and then when they get closer to me, Sneak Attack works. It does a nice amount of damage, too.
Not a stupid question. Yes, quests abound and an overarching storyline. Great variety as well, as there can be different approaches to completing some quests.
Would it be possible to add some kind of checkpoint / respawn in the colosseum? A near hour run just went down the drain after my app crashed cuz I was spamming skills like a mofo
Thanks for the response! You are, hands down, one of the coolest developers on the face of the planet.
where did the monk trainer go? came back to learn more skills and she isn't in the bar anymore. nvm shes in the skill shop. btw: anyone make a wiki or something of different skills per class? also where do you get the barbarian?
anybody else having trouble with the Rick Vien quest I have cleared the dungeon twice but the quest wont complete
Oh my, this is fantastic! Mika, I gotta congratulate you on the controls, they're amazing! Some of the best tap to move controls I've ever used. I'm not sure what puts this about the rest, but they're just better. And the visuals! The environments, especially inside houses (all the beds and barrels etc.) look incredible. I'm pleasantly surprised by how well the transition to 3D went. The amount of depth is incredible too. All the NPC interactions especially. The fact that there's the branching dialog is awesome. The story choices are interesting too, another reason to at through multiple times. Also, I like the random encounters you get while traveling through the overworld, gives me a Warhammer Quest vibe. This is undoubtedly the best action RPG I've ever played on iOS. Well done Mika

a lot of stuff can be answered by either checking this google doc made by another player: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11Yy4uNAD3faN9zAT9NWg_9Q22vEz9ps0n9CjVvynnew/edit#gid=0 or by checking the wiki someone else started here: http://battleheartlegacy.wikia.com I feel like we need to keep pointing people here otherwise this already flooded thread will get even more insane! Really its all a testament to how good a game Mika makes I plan to work on the witch and necromancer skills now so hopefully we can fill in their skill lists.
Guys help me make a dual wielding, heavy armor wearing awesome type of guy. I will need ninja for the dual wield perk then what after that works well? I know barbarian is a good choice besides the fact he uses collossus weapons, I want to dual wield so thats kind of out since his skills need a collossus weapon. I was thinking knight and rogue maybe?
