Did you complete the Level 20 dungeon in the top-left corner to upgrade the blacksmith? Because that's what you should do.

This build is so much fun and makes you feel like a ninja bada$$.

Also, going Ranger w/ dagger backup is pretty awesome too.

    Ranger builds?

I just got this game last night and having a blast with it. So far, I see a lot of ranger/bard/paladin build, which to my knowledge is getting nerfed (if it hasn't already). So, I have a few questions:

    1. Has the ranger/bard/paladin build been nerfed yet?

    2. I see a lot of people mention ranger/rogue/ninja, but what tactic do you use with this build?

    3. There's a ranger/barbarian build that uses Premeditation + Last Stand to be 100% invincible. Has there been mention of this being nerfed?

    4. Is there a way to see what my crit % stat is? I'm curious to see when it becomes pointless to keep pumping up my crit % (SKL) stat.

Premeditated and Song of Inspiration no longer work on each other. Radiance is still the best INT skill.

Ranger / Rogue / Ninja go together well because they all benefit off of DEX. You can either run a power build using Twin Strike / Apollo Shot / Blade Rush / Shadow Step combined with life draining trinkets, or a dodge / kite set using Shadow Bomb / Caltrops / Summon Pet / Stealth / Sneak Attack with dodge % trinkets.

As an aside, you can apparently still use "dual wield" skills with a melee and bow, according to my brother. Mostly, though, people want Ninja skills. Blade Rush as a combination movement / AOE, and Impending Doom as the next best thing after the Premed / Song patch.

See number 1. The infinite arena loop of Premed > Inspiration > Aegis > Blood Magic > Last Stand > Radiance no longer works due to the loss of the instant cooldown combo.

Open your stats page... And scroll down. MIND BLOWN.

Unrelated: The Sealed Cave stealth trick for power-leveling has been patched, as well.

My understanding of the way that the build is supposed to work is using only Premed + Last Stand abilities. It requires 3 items that totals for 50% less cooldown. So Premed takes 7.5 seconds to cooldown, and since Last Stand lasts for 8 seconds, you can keep the loop going. Since this isn't requiring instant cooldown, is it still doable?

Also, thanks a bunch for answering all the other questions!

Ah. Yes, that variant of the invulnerability loop should still work. You can also probably get away with replacing the 3 cooldown items with Impending Doom if your Crit % is high enough.

I know there is another tier of weapons available (something to do with a Blacksmith), but I am lvl 31 have beaten all dungeons besides the king and haven't unlocked them. Where is the Blacksmith btw?

I personally find that the concept of a "class" is a very archaic and outdated term, and am glad to see a game like Battleheart Legacy do away with it.

Let's put it this way - is a bard any less of a "bard" simply because he can equip a shield and charge into combat, or fling lightning bolts at his foes? What you should be playing is a "character", and it's up to the player to flesh him out however he wishes. If the player wants to limit himself entirely to skills from a single class for whatever reason, by all means, but it should not be a straitjacket with regards to character design. If I want to play a paladin who can raise the dead, it's my prerogative.

Likewise, I feel the focus of the game shouldn't be so much on the endgame, but the journey. Thus, I am hoping to see more quests being included in future content patches, as well as the storyline being expanded, perhaps all the way to lv40. Yes, you may end up getting all the skills, but it's the order in which you bought those skills which determine how you play and use them. A battlemage who started out as a wizard is going to have a very different play experience from a battlemage who started out as a knight, for instance. :)

Go do Razor Clan Excavation > Ancient Relic Site. You'll get the thing you need.

    1. Go to Eston. Find the guardsman there by the fountain offering a quest. Accept his quest.

    2. Go to Goblin Woods and clear the dungeon. You should get a text prompt saying something like "area cleared of goblins (paraphrased)!"

    3. Return to the guardsman and accept your reward money. You should get the achievement here, if I recall.

We have more in common than you thought. What Mika presents in this game is great, but I won't say its innovative, in fact modern ARPG's has already got over your concept of an "old-school" one straight class character, and I have never intended to suggest the implantation of "class" that way. I've explained my thoughts in several previous posts, here's one example:

a class "warlock":"spell CD speed increases 50% when you are in full HP, minions share any buff you cast, your damage decreases as your Hp drops, till -40%".
This is my concept of class, you can still learn and pick every skill or passive, you can choose to equip this class or not, it clearly encourages a necromancer build, which is sadly not viable in the game right now, even you have access to any skill that related to a necro build. I also wrote a singer class(earlier post), which can both play as a physical char or a mage.
I provide my suggestions as solutions to balance issue. If you have just finished first playthrough, and have no intention to do NG+, then it is hard for you to notice what I stressed, since game is pretty balanced in the first playthrough: every build is doing Ok but not great damage.

As for more storyline and quests, I think it is go without saying. This game's storyline is so poorly handled, after 1 hour into the game, you find yourself wandering around with no purpose, the game brings no feeling of a "finished product", rather than just a beta version that requires tons of more updates. But beyond that, Mika do have to choose between casual players and hardcore ones.

I agree that the game, while sporting excellent gameplay mechanics, is quite bare, plot-wise. However, as it benefits from a very solid foundation, this is something which can be readily patched in the future. I suppose Mika was under pressure to release the game earlier, and when the cash comes rolling in, he gets his wind back to further develop the game. Some of the quests can be properly strung together, and again, I would like to see more content for lv10-20 at least. Running sealed caves multiple times just gets old after a while. :(

I am not sure if a player needs "incentive" to stick with one class. I mean, as a game, what's stopping someone from simply playing a class and using only skills from one class just for the challenge of it? Sure, it may not be optimal, but in other games, we already have players undertaking voluntary handicaps just to see how far they can get in the game.

I feel what we need are not more posts celebrating NG+ and end-game-colloseaum builds, but instead more discussion and content focusing on actually playing the game. I am still experimenting with builds, haven't gotten a single character above lv20, and would like threads discussing how to say, play a viable barbarian (rather than people telling you go go with one broken build, then swap in barbarian skills at higher lv when you are powerful enough to steamroll anything in your path). :p
