I'm still early in the game (Level 6) a few questions (sorry if they've been addressed elsewhere, didn't find anything concise) - What's the best (relatively early) areas to level up/gain gold? - Do I still keep the XP I've gained from an area even if I don't complete it? - Any tips? Finally found a game that scratches my Swordigo/Dungeon Hunter itch.
What level are you? Which areas have you completed so far? You keep XP as long as you exit to the world map to save the game. If you close the app while you're in a dungeon, it won't save your progress.
Thanks for the reply. Level 5, specifically. I've only completed the first two areas - Troll Cave & The "Currupt" Merchant. Everything else I'm still working on.
It's a stat/grind focused RPG. This is not a genre that promises or delivers difficulty in any meaningful definition of the term. You may as well ask for a difficult slot machine or a difficult VN
You do know theres such a concept of "beating a game" right? As in the games done, you won. Gamers today expect every game they play to be like world of warcraft and have an "endgame". When you finish a book, do you complain that theres no more pages so theres nothing to do? You beat it, the games done. Or in your case, youve geared yourself to the point of no more challenge, wich is another form of beating a game. NG+ is just a way for people to continue playing if they so choose.
Hahah, and here I thought my Lvl 50 was a lot, LOL. It would be awesome if they made an expansion on, say, a new island. Ancient ruins, new treasures, different or reskinned enemies, the works. Kind of like Skyrim DLCs. The game is absolutely marvelous and worth twice the price as far as I'm concerned - I love everything from the art style (in your face, flood of anime and 90s DOS style RPGs!), to the atmosphere, everything - but it does sometimes feel like it could have had a bit more content (as in, dungeons).
I'm not sure if this has been brought up in this thread yet, so if it has I apologize, but I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the game crashing when attempting to battle the Monk in the tavern for the Monk trainer unlock quest? I am, and it's the first issue I've encountered with the game. Should I email the developer about this, or do they already know?
Yeah its $5. I got 40 hours worth of content and I am happy. I finished the game and I am not forcing myself to play anymore. It was fun while it lasted some people need to understand that not every game is meant to last forever, pouring hours and hours of content to you. It is a game thats just a solid $5, no iAP. If you want something that can last hours, play freemium games that are held up by the small percentage of people that have endless pockets of cash. You can spend hours and hours on repetitive gameplay that has no variety.
Anyone know any update or ex pension packs will be coming?? Or that's it all for the game I has finished the games twice with NG+, had a really great time, don't want it just end here...
MikaMobile did confirm updates that will add more content. He is focusing on bugs right now though, he wants to polish up the game before adding content
I've got a good suggestion, post here, hope Mika can see it: Despite having 10+ classes in game, ironically there's no such concept in game as a "class", all you've got is a set of skills, and it is more true in NG+ where stats no longer affect your choice of skills. So my suggestion will be adding actually concept of class in game. In a way similar to Kingdom of Amalur, as "class card". In the NG+ players can collect class cards by accomplish certain deeds(a great way to add "after story"), for example, getting 200+ kills in colosseum using merely battlemage skill sets to unlock "battlemage class card". When equipped, it provides benefits to play as battlemage style: getting more damage ratio from flame weapon, twin disciplines has 30% chance, spell cast boost the next attack, but you can equip sword only, etc. You can only pick one class card at a time. It is a good idea to have class cards, since in current version certain play style dominates, and rarely I see people trying ranger, necromancer builds. With class cards, there will be more incentive for players to try NG+, to try multiple different play styles, and the game life span increase tremendously. It is important for every class to have both "pros and cons" for balance(underdog class can have more pros than cons), you start with the default "jack of all trades" card, which allows your access to any skill combos. Just think of class card as a new champion in LOL, man, the class you can actually create is infinite. Each update releases a few class cards along with the quests to get them, BHL will be a constant excitement. A much bigger game than it originally appears. And a "hardcore Colosseum" can be invited where players can grind for super rare items(better than legendary tiers), if they beat the game under certain level, skill and equipment restrictions.
Seems like an interesting idea, but I don't really understand it. Seems like a hard thing to explain since a set of skills and spells is a class, at least for me lol. I'm sure I'm just not getting itAnd doesn't the passive skills you get from each class equivlent to the card system? Along with armor and trinkets you equip to characters?
IMO, a class is "you get something by giving up something else", in short, exclusive benefits. In NG+, if you've unlocked everything, your character will just be a monster with 100+ skills and 60+ passives, and you just pick the best from them. For example, "evasion" and "counterattack" are monk passives, but that's just an illusion, you don't need to play like a monk to pick them, actually they suit rogue/ninja best, and even as a mage you can pick up 10% dodge. The play style of knight(or any other class) will be vague for such a character. But if we invite a "knight" class card, which provide exclusive benefits encouraging a tanky build, strengthen some of the core knight's skills but also pose restrictions(must equip a shield, can't use any magic, etc) , this to me, is more like a class. Some play styles need buff, others requires nerf, and my suggestion is just one way to achieve it. If you just simply invite more skills and passives into the game, it won't change the imbalance here.
Hey guys, love the game. For anyone curious, I'm around level 18, I mostly play as a battlemage with some varied abilities, but my strategy is to basically tank an entire room full of enemies and take them out with AoE melee and magic abilities. Have a few questions: At level 18, I'm feeling a little starved for level appropriate quests. Are there any solid plans to add more content anytime soon? Darting all over the map to try and find a quest my level is kind of a bummer. What's the max number of ability slots your character will ever have? I currently have 8, and while that is plenty, I can't help but daydream about having two more slots to really allow things to go crazy. Are there any plans for a new continent of quests? I understand something like that would probably be a ways off, but I have to ask because I kind of don't ever want to stop playing this game. What's the deal with the bounties? I've only ever gotten one quest to go fetch a guy, which led to meeting the battlemage trainer, but it's been disappointing to see that a new criminal has popped up for a bounty. Is this something you plan to expand on with updates, or have I not yet triggers the next bounty quest...? Bonus: Any possibility of co-op in the future? Edit: Accidentally posted before I had finished typing, haha.
Ahhh I see. Like being able to choose strictly one class and having traits that contribute to that class specifically, not just adding points to stats etc? Seems like a cool concept but part of the fun of the game is creating different hybrids and practically creating your play style Maybe if the game was more narrative based and a story behind the character you played/other characters I would encourage this more. But the game is based around mixing and mashing skills together to create a character that is practically a god that suits yorur prefrences. I understand where you're coming from though
There are little quest on this game as of now. He does plan to add more in the future though As of now the game is based on adventuring and finding new locations/enemies/bosses around the world of Battleheart. You'll run into some quest here and there though. I believe the max number of slots is 9. Don't quote me on that though. should be enough to have all of your classes' active abilities if I remember correctly There will be content in the future, but even though you don't want the game to end, it will!! There will always be the endless arena though The bounty quest was just one quest to introduce the battlemage. There is an opportunity to add more bounties though mikamobile MikaMobile is still not sure about the co-op, he wants to see the success of the game first. He mentioned this during pre-launch. So I am not sure if this has changed yet. He said that it is a lot of work to get it to work, especially since they're practically just a team of two.
