While I agree this is a good game, I personally would not pay $20, and I'd not be happy if I'd paid 10 even at this point. I do really like the game, but it is pretty barren of quests and other things to do that make a world feel more alive and vibrant. For me personally though it's the crashing. I get one or two crashes per hour of gameplay. Literally every time I play I hit some bug or another. Not complaining, it was $5, but if I'd paid more I'd be annoyed. I'm happy with the price paid and I'd love to see more of it. I hope this game was very successful for Mika at this point anyway, and hopefully there is more to come! I think the $5 price is another reason it has done so well, so here's hoping it has met Mikas expatiation's!
I'm very happy with the price and would happily pay for more content and have had no bugs since the update. Also for the guy on the previous page tornado the top witch skill is much better than blizzard as it drags targets along with it slightly, especially of knocked down it seems. I use radiance, blizzard and tornado.
Won my first Legendary item and it's worse than what I bought in the shop. Still having a blast with the Arena, but my excitement over the item was quickly squashed when I saw the stats. Edit: Btw, anyone else getting really annoyed with random encounters? They're interesting at first, but later in the game when you're trying to walk from the left side of the map to the Capital, it's just annoying. They're all weak, low-level mobs anyway. Perhaps either they should scale with our level or not appear once we're above their level?
First thing first.. What a great game BHL is.. Even more awesome is its potential.. There's so much room for this game to grow.. I seriusly hope that the sales is going really well so that they can continue on working in expanding this game.. I am noobs in this forum. Joing cause I want to join the conversations.
I would venture this is a great designed game, especially the "class" system and the combat, but right now the content is lacking. Much of the levelling experience I found to be a grind without any real direction from the game, narrative or otherwise. As a seasoned mmo player, this was no great concern to me, but I can imagine the mid-game losing a casual player / newcomer to the genre. The mechanics are there for something great, but it definitely needs more substance. Still, most games have the content and not the gameplay, so it's a 'happy' problem, I guess. On another note, I liked all the WoW influences. That was some serious Viscidus homage!
Thought I share my two builds that has given me some success in the arena. The first is more of jack of all trades BattleMage/Ninja/Paladin with a hint of Barbarian. While the second is a purist Rogue/Ninja with a hint of Barbarian. The former is what I had during my first run through which then I replicated in my first new game+. The later is from my second new game+. For my own satisfaction I always tried to avoid using Premed-Song infinite combo. The first one is easier to play as it can tank a bit and has good AoE and passive DoT. Flame Weapon has to be activated all time. Give nice +10% crit and add weapon pow and spell pow. The second one requires a bit of micromanaging. The idea is to use Smoke Bomb -> Aura of Light -> Frenzy when there is no mage. It draws ranger foes and melee foes in and you can hit them with auto attack or skill like ki blast. With high enough dev and dodge buff from the smoke they unlikely to hit you while taking damage themselves with passive Counterstrike. When there is mage use Horror first and use Shadowstep and Blade Rush to reach the mage and then use all remaining skills to kill them ASAP. IMO the pure rogue/ninja is more fun to play with. Hope you guys enjoy it. BattleMage/Ninja/Paladin Equipment: 2xWitherstrike, Robes of Shadowmancer, Leviathan Scale, Blazesong Amulet Active Skills: Twin Strike, Blade Rush, Mana Strike, Radiance, Aegis, Aura of Light, Smoke Bomb, Flame Weapon Passive Skills: Aura of Disease, Grit, Adrenaline Rush, Impending Doom, Dual Wield, Lethality Level 60: 40/40/50/40/32/5 Arena Record: 265 kills Rogue/Ninja Equipment: 2xTombcaller, Cowl of the Red Fang, Choker of Red Feast, Howling Sickle Active Skills: Sneak Attack, Blade Rush, Shadowstep, Ki Blast, Horror, Frenzy, Aura of Light, Smoke Bomb Passive Skills: Deep Wounds, Adrenaline Rush, Counter Strike, Impending Doom, Lethality, Dual Wield Level 31: 5/60/5/40/5/5 Arena Record: 220 Level 63: 5/111/5/70/20/5 Arena Record: 430
I'm happy with the price paid too, but if there were just more quests I would have been happy paying more
Yes more content would be nice but i definitely got my money's worth, probably more. Have about 40 hours worth of gameplay and it was a blast. I'll still keep it on my iOS devices though, so I could fool around in the arena and see if they add expansion packs in the future Now I am just waiting for Aralon FF, going to put many hours into that the first few weeks as well
I'd also like something to stop random encounters once you've completed the game at least. Or something similar to other games I've played where the stronger you are the less likely you are to be jumped travelling and if you are make it more challenging. Such a great game though with limitless potential for expansion....I know it's bad taking about expansion when it's a new game but I can't help dreaming of endless updates WoW style however unlikely that is I can still dream.
I'd say maybe just make them tougher as you level up. Yeah much room for expansions, but keep in mind theyre a really small team and theres no iAP, so I would just expect an expansion or two. Unless they make the expansions worth 2 bucks or 3, then that'll make more sense. In the Upcoming games section, they mentioned how they built the game so that its easy to add quest, enemies, tweaks, and bosses. So I do have my hopes up I probably shouldn't have no-lifed this game. i literally have about 40 hours in and I'm sad that it ended so fast, while in reality its... Well 40 hours lol. Big thanks to everyone at MikaMobile. It was definitely worth the wait
The random encounters are getting annoying for me too The enemies are too weak to be a challenge and I would really like some that have dialog
I see a few people commenting on the lack of content, but I recall Mika saying a while back that the framework for Battleheart Legacy is far more flexible than that of its predecessor, and that adding new content would be less complex. Hopefully more will be coming our way. I tend to disagree with level scaling, as it defeats the purpose of leveling. How about a checkbox that says "avoid low level random encounters", or something similar? That'd fix the issue of running into unwelcome low level enemies in random encounters, yeah? Veto
Another suggestion: Make the "Home" button appear when you tell the Arena master that you're done for now. I'm always worried something will happen between the time I get my prize and my walk out of the arena, since it doesn't save till you exit.
This game is ridiculously good. Feels like an absolute age since I completed Battleheart and I was sorely missing some Mika goodness in my life, the wait was so worth it. Rocking a (mostly) monk/ninja hybrid and loving every second of it. Kudos, Mika!
I know someone explained this several pages ago but I can't find it now. Can someone please explain the difference between % crit, % crit effect and % crit damage? I think % crit is the chance you will crit. Crit damage is how much damage you'll do when you crit. The one I mostly don't understand is crit effect.
Crit damage == crit effect. A bit strange choice of words (I'd just go with the first), but there ya go. On the other you are correct, %crit is chance for crit to trigger. Hint: scroll down in your stat window. I just learned in the strategy thread that at least some folks missed this completely
I'm wondering can someone give me some advice because I'm struggling a bit. I'm going for a bit of a combo between Paladin, Barbarian and Battlemage. So for my skills I have: Power Attack Divine Hammer Mana Strike Whirlwind Power Infusion Flame Weapon Arctic Weapon Holy Word My passives are: Elemental Warding Grit Stalwart Colossal Weapons Might Spell Eater I'm Lv 32 and I'm struggling in the last two towers. What am I doing wrong? I have 96 attack, 34 def, 73 spell power. I use colossal weapons and find I take a lot of damage. Not enough to go toe to toe. Should I be stacking defense? Or are my skills/passives in need of adjustment?
