agreed its not a hard game at all. People just cant formulate a basic strategy to beat a level, so they whine about its difficulty. Its one of the things I love about Defender Chronicles. It was a hard game and you had to work to beat the levels. Too many games are made easy nowadays and it annoys me.

On my fifth try of that boar level, I was about to hit the delete button. I have so many games that I don't have the desire to waste time redoing levels of any kind. It's the type of repetitive gameplay I cannot stand. It's the same reason I hate games that have no ending, that only exist to beat your high score. (Dungeon raider) Even Zenonia, which was a grind, didn't annoy me like this game does, and that's because it didn't crash at the worst possible point. So, I gave 'battlecrash' a few more chances. Nowhere in the 'game' does it mention anything about being able to go back and redo levels to buff up. I found that out by chance. That's bad tutorial.

Obviously, bugs have not been eradicated, otherwise I wouldn't have a crash. It crashes at the same point it does/did for a lot of people. And for someone to recommend 'don't mash the buttons so much' as a 'fix' to avoid crashing is really quite sad. This is game problem, not my problem.

I'm not the first to complain about difficulty of the boar, and I've only read about 5 pages of this thread.

I've been buying games on the app store for two years. I can count on three fingers the games I had to delete because of crashes, especially in the top twenty. This is one of them, and it's laughable considering it's position in the sales charts. If they didn't have enough people to playtest before, I'd say their income right now should allow them to hire a few more to playtest and fix the problems. I gave this app a one star review on the store mainly because of the crashing problem virtually ten seconds before the end of a level. It could not have happened at a worse point, and just killed any desire I had to continue the slog. It was a big 'Ha ha! Hope you enjoyed replaying this level ten times. So, you finally killed the boar and had about ten seconds to go? Too bad! Try again!" Why would anyone WANT to give a game like this another chance? If you find that FUN, you're nuts. You know the term 'first impressions'? This does not make a good one.

If you have the patience to continue playing a game that has already made you play the same level ten times, with the addition of having to backtrack to 'buff up', which is not even mentioned as an option in the game, and you get a crash as your reward for all the time invested, then I'd say you're a sucker for punishment who has nothing better to do with his time. I've got a ton of other games to play that don't crash. If this was the only game on the app store, then yes, you'd have to put up with the bugs/crashes, but with the selection as it is, why bother? And to make it clear, I'm not a 'casual' gamer who only buys 'angry birds', etc. I can't stand that game either. I'm just not a fan of crashes. It was the same with 'Necromicon'. I stuck with it even when the 'fixes' were supposed to keep it from crashing, and it still crashed. It's not like the reward for pushing through all this is 'free food for a week'; You know, a useful end goal. It's just a time waster, one of thousands available.

You're missing the point. It has nothing to do with me being terrible at the game. I obviously beat the boar level. Why some people were still giving me advice on how to beat the boar level after I had clearly stated I beat it, is beyond me. My issue is with CRASHING, with annoyance at level repetition a distant second. Once a game crashes on me, it's just lost most of the favour it might have gained by virtue of its gameplay. It's on the way out. This can be a good thing. By not playing 'Battlecrash', I also just saved who knows how many more hours of my life. If I want to take crash risks, I'll play the stock market. From other posts I read, and the 'I can't kill this or that, and what do I do?', it looks like an ever more frustrating solution grind I'm not interested in playing anyway. It's good I got out early.

As for 'who in their right mind' goes, gamers are not in 'their right mind'. It's a frivolous distraction. I play games and I totally admit I'm wasting my life playing them. It's junk food. I'm not a hardcore gamer that needs to stick with anything. I already feel guilty playing 'shadowera' for the last five days, but at least now that I see everyone playing the same decks, the desire to play again is finally waning, and now I'm really 'WINNING', just like Charlie Sheen.

I always regret it when I look back and think of the 3 days/nights wasted playing one game of something like 'civ rev' on itouch when I could have spent the time on other more worthwhile hobbies I SHOULD be putting my time into, like sleeping. I know this is a games addiction website so I look forward to the 'Burn witch burn!' responses.

I look for a smooth experience in a game. If it crashes, I have the incentive to dump it, as I have another 25 unfinished games that have been sitting on the itouch for the last year already, and they aren't crashing.

I always beat the boar level WITHOUT crashing. They did fix it in an update and I never crashed afterwards even if I use like 3+ skills within the same 2 seconds. No crashes ever since the last update so maybe you are low on RAM. And it was obvious to me that you can replay levels because there IS a level select screen.

If so many of you people are having trouble with the boar then your going to have trouble with all the bosses. Personally I don't mind playing a stage over again once or twice to gain exp but maybe you guys don't like rpg's. So Mika are there any plans to add more area's to the game?

you obviously don't know what your talking about. How can you not know that you can replay levels?
    thats beyond obvious
thats like telling someone you have to kill hte people shooting at you. Kinda common sense.
anyway, no one is making you play the game
just don't go ranting to us about how bad the game is just because you personally are terrible at it
    give the developers a chance
are you running the most updated version of the game, are you low on ram, is ur device outdated
consider that stuff before you go complaining and ranting to everyone about how "bad" you think it is

It sounds like Shatner was just finding the game frustrating (which is fair, it may not be the game for you), and then had a crash which was the last straw. Sounds like a bit of bad luck there, because the game is extremely stable now, based on our own testing, e-mails we've recieved and our pristine review average it's pretty rock solid... I mean, if there were widespread crashes, I'd expect our 1-star reviews to be higher than 0.04% of our userbase. The old "don't tap too fast" thing is no longer a concern, we fixed those issues weeks ago. Sometimes apps crash for reasons outside of our control though, such as low memory, background tasks and other factors which are usually resolved with a simple restart.

Anyway, he's entitled to his opinion, no need to pounce on him because he didn't like the game, or "give it a chance" after one technical hiccup. I can't please everyone.

Common sense is knowing how to spell 'you're', 'the' and not using 'ur'. Can you not read? I gave it one star because it crashes. Yes, I'm terrible at the game. That's why it crashed when it did. It booted me for taking too long to get past the boar, but this feature should be more clearly marked in the tutorial. Give the dev a chance? Who am I? Yoko Ono? They have my money and I don't have a functioning game.

I'm using a first gen radio shack clone with 4mb ram. Is this not adequate?

it doubt it booted you because you took too long
and what feature, that you cant take too long to finish a level?

The Squeling Bog took me a while. It's pretty fundamental, just run away from the bombs, and use your special moves as soon as they pop up, barely any strategy required. Your cleric should continuously heal your tank, the guy with the most armor. If you still can't do it just keep playing the previous levels to level your team up and get gold to buy or upgrade weapons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, Shatner's Hairpiece is either a fortitudeles noob, or a he's hired by a battleheart hater to be a moron. Playing repetitively (farming) is what gaming is all about. Battleheart is not one of those games where you take your iPhone out of your pocket on the subway and play because you're bored. Battleheart is a time investment, 2 hours (at least) of gameplay each day. Right now, I have 3 games going, Evony (www.evony.com) is my primary game and battleheart is my secondary. Big Game Hunter for the Wii is my tertiary game.

Um, no, no it's not. Some gaming is about this, but certainly the majority of gaming is not.

I couldn't disagree with this more if I tried.

The beauty of Battleheart is it is exactly the sort of game you can pull out for 10 minutes and put it away until whenever. Yes, you are correct in that it is a game about "farming" or "grinding" or whatever term people want to use for repetitive gameplay to refine and advance the game, but the sheer beauty of the design is that you can easily play it your two hours a day if that's your thing or just 10 minutes a week and you won't get any less out of the game.

All that matters is that you have the proper understanding of what the game is, not how much you grind over real intervals of time. I love it precisely because I can get the sort of satisfaction of party creation, load out, and execution of a much more detailed MMO game in less time than it takes my kids to eat breakfast :D

    Deep breathes

Think of much time you could save if you could just move on and stop posting in this thread.

Good lord you like to complain and moan. We get it already. You don't like the game. It's frustrating when it crashes. It's all there in writing for us to see (multiple times).

You've already told us you've deleted the game. You've also told us you've applied for a refund. You've left a 1-star review providing feedback for the developers and the general buying public. Now the only thing left is to let go already. Move on with your life and simply accept the fact that you don't like something other people do.

In fact, let me tell you a little secret. It's okay. Seriously it's fine. It's allowed for you NOT to enjoy a game that a lot of other people do. Hell it doesn't even have to be limited to video games, you can apply that to your normal life too.

I don't like Madden, but a lot of other people do. That's okay. I don't like Metal Gear Solid, but a lot of other people do. That's okay. I don't like Final Fantasy, but a lot of other people do. That's okay. I don't like tower defense games, but a lot of other people do. That's okay. Do I really need to go on?

You've said your peace, now move on. At this point you have nothing new to say on the matter and you're just coming across as a whiny troll. Instead of focusing so much energy bitching about a game that cost less than a Starbucks latte, focus on the things that DO make you happy. Play the games you DO enjoy.

The mOst impressive thing is deleting a game 3 times. Once after 5 tries, then 10 tries and then after beating the game.

I would like to see some new races as well as classes.
Like how a warlock class would be good for an orc or demon.
So this way that elf wizard won't be so lonely :).

EDIT: Oh and the guy who posted above me has problems.

Eh some people just can't be the better person and let it go. People join forums to either learn opinions or banter playfully he seems like the second type. No worries though simply ignoring the children arguing will cause them to get bored and leave ;-).... Anyway Mika how is your foot? Will you be receiving surgery?
