Yes, I can see that it has now moved into the Top 10 (currently at #9), but details on your Zombieville sales is what makes me think this was a poor sale. Zombeville was in the 30s, and when it went into the 10s thanks to the sale (assuming it was a .99 sale), the sales tripled. Battleheart was already in the mid/late-10s when it was at $2.99 (it was either 16 or 18 last night, can't remember), so even if it reaches Top 5, considering the rounded numbers from Zombieville, profit will only be more or less around 1.5x. Profit is profit, so it's not bad, but I feel the profit potential wasn't reached by having a sale right now and not later. Again, as I pointed out earlier, the game was still climbing into the early teens when it was in the mid/late-10s at a $2.99 price point, so keeping the game at the top of the charts as a motive for the sale is highly unlikely. And with the game being GOTW, it would especially be odd to have a .99 sale. With the game's popularity at or nearing its height, they should take advantage of a game succeeding on a relatively high price tag (chart toppers are dominated by .99ers) and not drop the price until the game starts slipping ranks. I'm not really ranting about getting the game for $2.99 instead of $.99, as I felt this game deserved my $2.99, and definitely even more. In fact, I'm actually putting the developer's best interest in this rant because I feel a sale right now simply will not maximize this game's profit potential. However, I'm not professional as I said earlier, so this might all be pointless talk, but with what I know, this sale just screams out "bad decision" by me.
@TiltMyTouch - your concern for my financial well being is appreciated, but you needn't worry. Downloads appear to have at least tripled today, I'll know for sure tomorrow, but the top grossing list would indicate as much.
Finally bought the game. Wish I hadn't waited for the sale. This game is so fun and polished (you know, kinda like the other Mika Mobile games...) and has way more than enough content for 3 bucks! Sorry Mika for not supporting you at the original price, but thanks for such an amazing game!
I am actually eating my own words as we speak. Battleheart seems to be closing in on to the Top 5 now and I'm definitely amazed. It seems like there is finally an indie non-casual game that is breaking into that territory!
well, it is that good. I'll take it out if I change my mind. But I have been playing it all evening and it's just perfect.
So I'm assuming we will see both Ranger and Paladin classes by the looks of the profit you guys are making. Probably new levels too. But the question is.. Will we see game center achievements?
Crashing I have the latest version. My team is a monk, thief, healer, bard. The game keeps crashing. Im not sure why. It wasn't earlier. Now it crashes after every other battle.
Hm, haven't had any reports in a long time, must be something really unusual. Or maybe you just need a fresh restart? Let me know if you can draw a connection to any particular cause.
Just bought it today and already played like 3 hours. This game is great and I'll be looking forward to your future games.
Yea I paid 2.99 and I do believe it is worth paying 2.99...but then again thats AFTER i tried it first. But for many casual gamers... the 0.99 cent price point is THE price point to be at. Many will not even bother taking the risk to try a game unless its free or at .99. More downloads will encourage more content updates and Im all for that. =)
Time to hire a staff and get us more updates! Actually, this forum is like a free r&d guy. Not bad for free. Speaking of which. I think your best bet when you add new classes is to force it to be on new game only. That actually makes is have fun leveling the character. Now, all is not loss for saves out there. Once you have beaten the game, you can merge save files and it will take the highest level character over to your old save. I think that might be the best way to preserve peoples old games and add more content to the actual game.
Or adding a chest for items to be swapped between different saves? For a price that is (200 to put in 200 to take out?).
Wow... This game is fantastic! My favorite game I'm playing as of now! I'm stuck at the boar riding boss though... He's a freakin tank!
Not quite favoring being forced to create a new game. IMO most people would prefer that all their previous accomplishments not be neglected. There really should be some continuity. Merging save files is also quite a strange way of handling this. I think if it will really be a concern for old players, who have finished the game, for new classes that arrive thru an update, my take on this is that mikamobile has to be clever with additional levels. Add class/character-specific side quests or add restrictions on levels on some of the additonal end levels. Of course, obviously this means additional levels would have to come along with the update. And I currently have no idea if mikamobile is deciding on a major update or giving only a few addtional classes first in a sooner update. Oh and congrats to mika mobile for Battleheart's well-deserved success.
