I dont have the game (yet) but I have a question about it? What are the incentives of replaying the game with different classes?
I wish the auto attack range was bigger and that you had your parties icons down the side of the screen to select and use attacks as they often stack behind each other and make it harder to individually choose each one. Red slimes (and later level green ones) do my bonce in, as does reaching 140 kills in level 2 arena only to get a duplicate set of strings for the annoying lute player
Nice game overall but it's very annoying for me when chars stand one over another and you never know which one you'll move and in most cases this results with dead tank. I really wanted this game take over me but it's just not the case. I mean.. it's to fast.. quick drag char here, hurry to take aggro with tank, run with priest hurry hurry bat attacking where is my rogue???-- ahhh he is right under mage AGAIN (btw why this mage just standing and not attacking???nvm)--come rogue, go take aggro of that dieing priest---agrrrrrr NOT YOU MAGE I said ROGUE.. to late, priest is death etc... Those who played this game know what I'm talking about. BUT.. so much people enjoy in this game so they can't be wrong. Maybe it's just me, maybe my expectations was to high with this one. Sorry Mika
Huzzah! Downloading now. Between this and Bug Heroes I am getting very little done I should be getting done, good thing the kids are off from school this week so I have some excuse
So, if the monk is your main tank and you have a knight engaged, wind walk will take aggro? Does war cry still steal aggro back?
Good questions. Also: is Wind Walk strictly better than War Cry? That is: does it do just as good a job of getting agro, and do damage on top of that?
By the way: last night, I got to 122 arena kills on Doomvale...when my game crashed. I wasn't that upset about it, but man....I was twenty five kills over my previous high score. Arg! Was using Cleric / Witch / Bard / Knight
Excellent! So I'm assuming then that if I'm going tankless (Wizard 2x/Witch/Bard), then all enemies (other than random targeters like archers) will focus on just my one char with the highest armor, effectively making him the tank? This'll be awesome if one of my wizards have the highest armor. If it's the bard... then this'll be very very bad. I guess I'll find out soon enough when I play tonight.
This change is great. It will finally allow me to try out some other weird party comps that I wanted to mess around with, such one with a drain-tanking witch.
Windwalk takes aggro from non fixated enemies such as slimes and bats. Battlecry is the only thing that takes aggro from those two fixated enemies.
I have about 15000 coins with nothing to spend it on, got a level 50 cleric, one rogue at 34, one at 44 and a knight at 47 and I still can't get past the level with lots of red slimes. I'm going to have to grind like no tomorrow
Got another question for Mika: I never really thought about it, but: does attack power affect the damage of spells? I assume so, but thought there's a chance it's just based on level or something. Also, I still think Vigor got overnerfed.
Really? I got past all levels except for final boss and my characters are now Bard - 21, Wizard - 27, Witch - 25, and Monk - 23. I usually keep the Wizard at the top middle and the Witch bottom middle with the Bard in the center buffing the monk. If the screen fills with opponents that are attracted to melee allies that hit them, I use the Monks attack that attacks all enemies on the screen. Then I just run around with the monk evading attacks while the Wizard and Witch kill them off. The red slimes, while dealing a lot of damage, are easy to avoid since they are slow, but can't be distracted from their target. So, just do the same thing, run around and avoid getting attacked while other party members attack it. With this setup, I've been able to get to the final boss and get his health half way down. Need to level up some more to take him out, I think.
Well, I beat the game once with one party (play time: 12 hours), then (for god knows what reason) I started an entirely new save file, and have sunk 17 hours into it so far. I really enjoy trying out different party compositions for boss farming and loot hunting and arena butt-kicking. So YMMV, but for me? Tons of replay value. Plus, keep in mind that every class Mika adds (two on deck so far) exponentially increases the party combinations and thus, if you're into that sort of thing, replay value.
Thank you Im having a great time with it so far. If I enjoy it enough I'll probably do what you did and run through the game with different classes as well!
The game is a lot more free form than I think you're imagining. The whole hook IS just playing around with different class and power combos. If you've ever spent any time in something like Baldur's Gate, WoW, Guild Wars, or similar party based games tweaking out skill sets and equipment and thinking of new ways to own the enemies, you'll be giddy with replay value of the game. If you're just looking to "beat" the game then, no, not much replay value as that's not the point of the game, at all.
