I'm not sure the crash bug is totally attributable to too much touching. I haven't had crashes until today and that was only after I added 2 ninja gloves to all 3 of my casters. Maybe too many spells going off causes it to dump to the desktop? I'm using an iPad if that changes things.
I'm just amused that a $3 iPhone game could even be capable of generating the kinds of party strategy and character build discussions that I would normally only expect from an MMO. Not saying this game is as "deep" as WoW or many other games, but its certainly deeper than the vast majority of games I've played on my iPhone and that includes most of the RPGs currently available for iOS.
I found the best way to get rare items is to go to the 2nd arena and get over 120 kills. 4 times in a row I got different rare weapons. It sucks that we don't get experience points for those kills though, haha.
We found (and fixed) another crash bug related to our enemy AI's targeting code. That fix is also in the update we submitted a couple days ago. I'm pretty sure between that one and the input issue, we've solved the ones most people are running into. There's also a couple other rarer issues that we've isolated and fixed as well since then, but we're waiting on the first update to go live before submitting those fixes.
MikaMobile, Could you guys make it harder to delete your save? Perhaps make it so that you have to hit the "x" and then slide your finger across the screen (like when unlocking your phone). I think the way it is set up now it is too easy to accidentally delete your save game. I accidentally just lost my level 37-39 party because I was really excited to play the game so I was tapping the black screen (as the main menu loaded up) in order to select my save slot and get into the game sooner, but then I ended up clicking the "x" and then accepting the delete, all the while the screen itself hadn't visually loaded yet. Really sucks, I wish I could get my characters back (I wish there was a "save backup online" option like in Inotia 2). There goes 9 hours. Also, I've gotten the game to crash a few times by rapid tapping on the black screen while a level loads. Anyway, this game is good enough that I don't mind restarting. Some class suggestions: Archer -- I know that ranger has been suggested. Would be awesome if it was inspired from the Diablo 3 class Demon Hunter (just like the Monk is inspired from Diablo 3). A conventional ranger is kinda lame but a really interesting archer with a crossbow and some special skills like traps or gernades would be really badass. However, I would much prefer a gunner to an archer/ranger. Gunner -- the gunner could dual wield some revolvers. Fire six shots and pause to reload. Have some gernades. Samurai -- this could be the two-handed class that this game is missing. Could even have an attack that occasionally "instant-kills" some minor (non-boss) enemies. Tormentor -- another debuffing, hexing class like the witch. However, this one could focus more on cursing the enemy to make them damage themselves, snare them, make them weaker, or make them take more damage. His attack could even deal no damage, but instead make the enemy receive more damage from other attacks. So let's say every enemy has 0 armor, his attack, lets say it is 11 attack, actually reduces the enemy to -11 armor, so that they take 11 more damage from every source of damage. Kind of like a reverse bard. Also, his weapon could be an orb, or it could even be some class specific gloves that he wears to curse his foes. This class could also have a health sacrificing component to at least one of its skills. Druid/Hermit-- a healing class alternative to the cleric. This one, however, could have more hot spells (healing-over-time) and less instant heal spells. Also, this class could have some interesting buffs.
Druid=Bard. Berserker=Samurai Why would there be guns in a medieval based game? I would love an archer
And now it crashed as soon as I unpaused a game. Everything had been great since release date but it has absolutely tanked in the last day. Constant crashing. I'm not even at the boar yet.
Nice response. I'm still fine with the glowing 5 star review I left. Other people need to experience this.
Any chance of having damage bars for all of characters visible? Often I could have saved a character bur I didn't know he/she was low on health. What do you think? Is it an important part of the game to have to 'check in' with each character to know their health status?
I think this would also be taken care of if there was an on-screen HUD representation of your party members (a la MMO games) that has also been mentioned in this thread. I agree with posters earlier who also said that having little icons of your characters (with corresponding health bars, etc) might make selecting the characters easier (as selecting them now can get hectic when they're all bunched up).
Also for 3, if you have any skills that will disorient the mini slimes when the boss breaks apart, use em! I had a wizard with the time stop ability and paused all the slimes on the map. Once that ran out, I used the knights scare ability to disorient one of the slimes. And so on. I kept stalling them that I actually managed almost kill 2 before they got together.
Not to muddy up the screen with too much, this is something along the lines that I was thinking. Granted, the ability buttons might be too small, and the lower left placement could be way off, it's just for the sake of reference.
That looks nice. I feel like the skill buttons need to be up top as well because you don't want enemies to hide under the UI =P No enemies hang out in the sky =)
I was going to wait till the update to fix the crashes, but I couldn't refrain. This game looks great, even though it crashes on me too. At least now I know even better what I am waiting for. Not that I don't attempt to play it without the fixes anyway. Not sure who said it, but someone made a comment about it being a great week to bring us both Paladog and Battleheart. This game really gives me the same vibe as Paladog, even though they're very different. I am sure I will spend lots of time playing Battleheart also. Fun times! When I bought my iPod Touch I never expected to mostly use it to play games, considering I was never a fan of video games at all. Guess I must not have seen the right ones before.
Nope, I tried it multiple times. Never worked. Edit - Just tried it again for the benefit of the doubt. Intimidate does not work but Fear does.
Merchant / Armory Please add a swap button in the corner like Infinity Blade has, it makes life so much easier when you're buying gear/checking stats.
