Given the skills he eventually unlocks, it appears that the Bard's buff increases both attack and defense.
Oh good and here I thought I was going crazy lol. Now that's an interesting ability to abuse . I'll start placing the witch closer to strong enemies next time .
I'm currently using the witch with a cleric, though I'm not sure if I'd say she's better or worse than the wizard.
One of my favorite parties so far is the knight, witch, rogue, and bard (but I will often switch out the bard with the cleric if in certain boss fights that I need high healing for). None of them are past level 25, by the way. When a group of enemies come on screen I like to use the knight's "War Cry" to gather them to him, then have him use "Cleave" to soften them up a bit. By then my witch has arrived and I use her "Horror" power while being as close to the enemies as possible. This makes all the enemies go running around in terror (and does good damage to them as well) while my rogue and witch get in some damage with no fear of retaliation for a couple of seconds. The bard or cleric can then do some healing on the knight if needed during this short respite. During this time if I can manage it then I'll have my rogue use all of her powers (Expose Weakness then Shadowstep and finally Sneak Attack) on the most healthy and/or painful enemy. The surviving monsters then gather back at the knight who can then tank them as normal while I mop up the survivors with the witch and the rogue. If I need to repeat the process quickly (and I have my bard with me) I'll then use the bard's level 20 power to reset the cooldowns on the all other party members powers so then I get to repeat the process. Quite devastating I must say...
I guess it depends on what you want from them. The Wizard is great for DPS (Damage Per Second) but the witch has group attack abilities, like a poison shroud. Who here thinks they have the "perfect" team? Perfect = the ease of battle and the win ratio. If the team kills the enemy quicker and with less difficulty, then they are the better team.
Im using bard, knight and 2 rogues. Been farming the last boss for the rare weapons, killed him without him summoning his minions.
... why would they be higher level.. they are in town waiting for you doing nothing. why does everyone want the game to play itself. if you want to level a witch shes going to be low level. jesus christ. this is exactly whats wrong with gamers today EVERYTHING is handed to them. it should be level 1 in my opinion not level 3.
my 2 cents. OK here is my Likes and dislikes, 1 i dislike coming here for information about the productivity of the game and seeing battle strategies. maybe some of us dont want to hear about stuff we havent got to, or maybe some of us dont WANT to hear your team combos so we can think about this stuff on our own. this isnt a game guide thread its a release and update thread. number 2, why does everyone want the game to play itself more than it already does. like "oh why arent the guys in the tavern higher level"..really? number 3, i love the game. i love the fact that its pick up and play and i have a lot of fun with it.. number 4, more selection, i know mika was probably in a hurry to get it to its fans so i understand. i agree what someone said on here about the respecting, i woulda had more fun if my choices ment something and i was locked to it and had to re do the game to make other choices,, i do also however understand that its a strategy game and you need to try different specs for different fights. so its 50/50. but i think it takes away from replay-ability.. and in a game like this Replay factor is VASTLY important. number 5 crashes, hes fixing it so im not worried. more heroes, im HOping hes adding more heroes. i think he is. everyone has suggested the Obvious, NInja, gunner, archer, summoner, i've suggested Promotions like mage - Arch mage warrior - Knight etc. etc. i also would love to see some Hidden classes or some "quest" things. not so much Quest but go to area A and get a clue to go to area C, then go to area B and fight the boss and unlock hidden character 1. etc.. HIdden characters such as Vampires, Monster tamer, you know the drill. more monsters with interesting abilities, the obvious STacking problems when they are on each other yadda im not trying to repeat stuff everyone said but i thought i'd consolidate it into 1 post plus my own thoughts.
I think you misunderstood me, it's not that I bought those guys and then forgot to level them, I just noticed there was an option to hire more heroes when I was a bit farther into the game and was a bit bummed by the fact I was missing some of the options, and please stop with the elitist jerk attitude, yeah, you're a hardcore gamer and for you a game that "plays itself" is a disgrace, well, that's what difficulties and options are for, something I forgot to mention in my previous post, I'd love to see more difficulties and if Mika implements control options etc' so we can toggle them at will, also something that sprung to my mind is relocating "floating" UI like in some games, so we can move the skill bar/skill buttons to other places if we want to.
you can get it from last boss too, i already filled my chars with the rare weapons. (e.g., gloves of the long death, pillar of the venom lord, echoes of love lost, frozen doomspike, hammers of the underkings, beacon of the heavens, holy blade of m'ir)
2 things to be the best game that I ever played! First - Multiplayer Arena -> Battle with friends! *.* Second - More classes on updates
I sometimes have the same feeling, but then I just play the game and ignore forums I also thought that this is a thread about the game and all the things related to it, unless I misunderstood the forum rules. I really like the multiple possibilities and combinations you can instantly try with your skill, and really hope it'll stay that way. Making skill choices permanent would cause even more grinding, or going through the same content over and over, and you already will experience this if you want to unlock all skills for the current classes. In my opinion your suggestion doesn't add any FUN in the game, and don't really fit in the pick-up-and-play -style of this excellent game. I'm sure we'll see more levels, classes and monsters at some point of future, but while waiting for those challenges, I'd rather do something else than grind for skills
