Yours is the first report I've seen of such a thing. Not sure how that could happen, the game auto-saves constantly (when you start a battle, return from battle, when the app is suspended or quit entirely) so even if it crashes you should never lose more than a minute or two. And was it just the timer that was off?
The suggestions I'm seeing for classes are actually right in line with what I originally wanted to do anyway. Here's my list of most likely additions, but uh... don't hold your breathe just yet, the game's been out for like 2 days. Ranger - we're definitely gonna do this guy, he was originally the 9th class but we cut him due to time. Not yet sure whether I'd like to have him be a melee/ranged hybrid, or strictly ranged. It might be neat if he can do a little more damage in melee by default, and you can skew his melee/ranged focus based on the passive/active skills you choose. Summoner (or Necromancer) - a class oriented around summoning helpers sounds promising, though it could also just add insult to injury in our already crowded screen. If we can make it work, its something I'd like to do. Shapeshifter - this was something someone proposed back before the game came out and I really liked it. Their active powers would be different forms, that essentially let them fill different roles (damage/tank/support) simultaneously.
All those sound awesome. I don't own the game but I have had a chance to play on a friend's device. Ranger sounds like a great idea, it works well with the dual abilities so you can have melee abilities on the top row and ranged at the bottom so players can mix and match. That's assuming you aren't locked into a tier (My friend was only at level 7 when I got to play) A thought on the Summoner/Necromancer: What if they disappeared when the creature is summoned and when the creature is killed the summoner returns with "summoning sickness". This way they have the benefit of avoiding damage but when they return they are unable to do anything and must be protected.
you guys ROCK. All of these potential additions are exciting. The fact that this game is getting this much enthusiasm after being out for only 2 days should tell you something. I'm an app fiend, and I've played a LOT of games on my ipad. This is one of the few games that i can honestly say (with expansions and possibly online PvP), could keep me hooked for a LONG time. It has all of the qualities of a good RPG (sans crappy jrpg story, although an overarching WoW type story would be awesome): The progression is rewarding, and all it really lacks is customization and/or even greatere depth in character growth/options. Bugs aside (Crashing, U.I. grouping issues, in-battle character status, and Armory/Merchant confusion), when i mentioned earlier that this could be the mobile equivalent of WoW (or at least Borderlands) I wasn't kidding. Adding in-app purchases like levels, classes, rare items, quests, extends this game significantly, and the potential for PvP makes Battlehearts addictive in the way that matters. The ART is both charming and effective, and the carrot appeal of getting more swag and more characters = WIN. More specifically, WIN that people will PAY for. At 2.99 launch, you don't even need a price drop.
Nope unfortunately not. No idea what caused it, let's hope it was a single fluke. Great game. One suggestion though. Let us compare equipped gear to the stuf in the shop by holding down the gear-icon.
I got up to 120 on arena 3. I havent got anything yet that I can't get in the merchant store. Maybe there aren't any unique weapons or items from the arena? I'm not sure, I've done dozens and dozens of arena runs with no luck.
I do think a good idea for a new character class would be a hybrid class - sometimes its a "druid" (like in WoW). Basically a class that can change forms or abilities to match the 4 different main character templates - tank, melee DPS, ranged DPS, and healer. The druid from WoW comes to mind but another alternative might be an "elementalist" who can turn into four forms: stone form = tank fire form = melee DPS air form = ranged DPS water form = healer Of course, each of the forms would not be as good as the main type of character (so the "stone form" would tank better than all other classes but not as good as the knight). In other words, it would be second best at doing each function but the strength is in the classes' diversity. Along the skill tree, perhaps in addition to adding a new form every 5 or 10 levels the opposite skill to each form could be an accompanying buff or other power that the druid uses instead of the form. For example, instead of selecting the stone form skill the druid could instead pick its "opposite" skill on the tree by selecting a power that acts as a defense buff to a target (either the druid himself or another character). The water form's opposite skill would be a healing spell (or a hit point buff?), the opposite skill for the fire form would be maybe a melee damage buff, and the opposite skill for the air form would be a damage spell. But I know as I'm saying the above that there are a few classes which are "hybrid" classes of sorts (barbarian, monk, and witch) but they aren't a hybrid across all of the four standard types. Just my 2 cents...
That sounds SWEET!!!!!! I can't wait to see them come to life. If I can add to class thoughts. - Ninja: (even from OMG Pirates) A hybrid class that can throw projectiles(stars, shurikins, etc) and can make use of sword at close range, weak in HP as well as attack but makes up for it with speed. Skills that are elemental magic and ninja(smoke bombs, Teleport attack that leaves an illusion of him/herself, poison darts, sleep needles AOE, Meditate to recover health that leaves ninja inactive for certain period of time while skill is in effect, etc...) - Samurai: Tank class that wields heavy armor/Long Sword. Some skills(blood lust that increases power but decrease HP over the time of skill, Summon pike/spear for a certain amount of time, speed increase, cannon with splash damage, calvary charge, longbow summon for a critical attack, Armor buff, etc). - Alchemist: weak support class that heal members with pots/buffs as well as summon to help in further support(summon small homunculus, summon armor/weapons for self and/or others for a certain period of time, and pots for speed, defense, addidtional HP, etc for a certain amount of time). - Paladin: very slow movement with high defense(pure meatshield) that adds support and fights with either a hammer, spear, or sword with giant tower shield. (skills would be shield bash/stun, shield damage reflect, other shield skills mainly, Warcry that draws aggro, different party auras like bard with healing, defense, damage reflect, etc.) Just my 2 cents. Loving every second of this game.
Shapeshifter omg plx! Druid in WoW was my favorite class, a quick respec and gear swap and you're the fill-in class your group needs to finish an instance. As for BH, a shapeshifter would be a nice stop gap for off-tanking and spot heals, and additional dps on bosses. Naturally, they'd never be stronger than their parent class, but a viable addition to any group that knows how to effectively use their tools.
Battleheart is an absolute blast to play. It utilized the best of touch screen controls, screen space and is just great fun. I, like many others, am experiencing the crashing bugs that MikaMobile has already sent a patch for. Apart from that, I would recommend this title to anyone in a heartbeat.
I love the idea of the OMG Pirates ninja making a cameo. I also hope the shape-shifter gets a bear form. not for functionality or anything. I just wana be a bear. I'd also love to see a Zombieville cameo of some nature. Maybe the zombies as an enemy (or ally) or better yet the survivor from from Zombieville. sure he wouldn't fit in but he's still iconic and would be a good ranged guy.
I ran into smething that might and might not be a bug, the game crashed just as i had killed the slime boss. It froze as the screen was about to turn white. Is that some kind of bug, or is it just lack of memory? (2nd gen ipod touch - 2½ year old, lack of memeory would be likely) EDIT: I really do love this game - Though I have a tight schedule I've managed to squezee in 4 hours of playing so far - Well worth it
can someone give me some tips on beating the third boss, which is the slime guy? also any tips on the arenas? my best is like 36 on the first arena
I just got to 114 on the arena and my reward was an item that gave 10 armour. Its on my knight and gives a nice handy boost to his defence.
Has anybody else noticed that the witches 3rd skill that scares everyone on the map sometimes 1 hit kos the enemy, no matter what its HP?
some of these request are just alittle too crazy.. i.e a COMPLETE UI overhaul? not likely. again, keeping your party from overlapping eachother is part of the strategy. +smaller team, less overlapping but less power +fantastic 4, More overlapping but more power 1+ for the archer. maybe the guy from zombieville USA could be the melee/range fighter.. cost 500 gold lol. OR a new map (iAP) in which takes place IN Zombieville. BUG REPORT: (maybe is just me) when you flip the screen to a different orientation, the touch controls become less accurate. (best result from the menu) maybe its fixed in the update. we'll see
It's true, the effect of the spell is worse the closer the enemy is to her. Point-blank = long term paralysis or occasionally instant death.
