black knight is also the last toon i got as well and i am on the second area mid way through, shame as i would have liked more as well. love the bard tho
i'm over 1k in trophies on my ps3. so my question AGAIN is, WHAT would the leaderboards consist of? This isnt a game like Canabalt, Pac Man, or traffic rush.. you want a LEADERBOARD for the arena? how does that alter the gameplay vs. a new map of levels? MikaMobile hasnt had GC or oFeint in any of their games, and that doesnt bring down the quality at all.
Wow! Absolutely incredible game!! Great art, awesome game-play! A little hard a first, but it's easily adaptable to! I've been following this for a very long time, and it was definitely worth the wait! A couple crashes here and there, but those will be ironed out in no time!! 5 star game! Thanks Mika Mobile!
I read Mika's post about why he thought it was crashing and was very careful in my healing. I would pull the characters away from the enemies and cast before bringing them back into the battle. It WORKED! I beat the boar finally no crashing. Ok so it was a bit of a pain to pull the guys around but it worked. So while I look forward to a fix I really am glad to be able to get passed it. So since that point I only have done one more battle and some different branches of the map opened up. This fix came quicker than I figured it would so haven't leveled up all the characters I wanted to. I agree about the Black Knight - he seems like your first guy too much. Now I feel kind of bad I spent money on upgrading his equipment. Oh well, so it goes. Anyway I would guess the Arena is at the end of one of the branches that opened up on the map.
You know what is funny... is that the modern gamer is tricked into playing games that they normally wouldn't because of them. Who cares if you "run around a castle 50 times while not getting hit"? Its developers adding longevity to titles that really don't have much. Its a good thing becuase it does add some refreshing gameplay. Its bad because its allowed a lot games to go from 10 - 20 hour being a standard, 6 - 8 being a standard with achievements adding to longevity.
Why are we talking about new features already? The game's been out for a day. Bug fixes, sure. But new features? Give it some time, people. Mika Mobile's worked hard on this game. Enjoy it first, then talk about new stuff.
I'm training my second team at the moment with the help of the Bard, who is still gaining the least experience of the four, poor thing ;( Witch is turning to be my second favorite character - the first being th Bard - with her first spell being a healing kind, and her being able to shoot enemies and do AoE. At the moment it does feel like that the healing portion of her spell goes always to my Sorcerer, even though my Black Knight is more heavily injured. Is that because of hp difference or am I just seeing thing? Didn't realize until now that the order your characters are in the Keep is also their marching order. So the first character leads the party, the second character at the bottom, the third character on the top, and the fourth at the back. Earlier I could have my casters on the top and at the bottom of the screen and melee fighter on sides, but now with one melee, two ranged and the Bard I still haven't find the ideal fighting formation.
Consistent crashing on the hog boss thing (iPhone 4 iOS 4.2, Also did a restart). What are your guys favorite setups?
Knight Rogue Cleric Witch Also for those of you on the fence, this is completely worth 2.99 - there was a lot of love put into the minute details of Battleheart and it all shows, in the icon, opening sequence, the intro tutorials, menu/ui, character/gear/weapon models, graphical actions of allies and enemies, and all the spells and special abilities are so flashy and pop on retina, its quite a beautiful thing to see.
Personally liking this setup. Knight Cleric Witch Monk Got through the boar boss in my first try with this setup. Might switch the Cleric to bard eventually.
Thanks a lot for this awesome game! I've played it for little over 40 minutes now, tried some different setups and adored the superb design and graphics of this game. In my opinion, this should be up on the list (together with Infinity Blade and Dead Space) over the best looking iPhone games available! The gameplay is very fun and addictive, and it's really hard to stop. I do have a few improvements I'd like to see before I can rate this a 5 star (and I'm sure many have suggested this before me). - During the combat, there are 2 main things that disturb: 1, whenever there is a lot of enemies (screen gets a bit cluttered) and your heroes stand on-top of each other it becomes extremely hard to target them. I'd suggest adding 4 icons (much like the abilities icons) on the button of the screen for each individual hero. It would be convenient if you could "drag to move" from this icon as well as the hero itself, making micro-managing a bit easier. - I also find it annoying that when an enemy dies, any melee heroes will start to auto-attack a close target while ranged heroes would not. I'd rather see them being idle, and then all attack an enemy when it's tapped; sort-of like a quick way to re-direct your heroes to a new target would be to tap that enemy. However, I find that the clean UI and the rather simplistic controls is what really makes this game unique so that's something I really don't want to see changed. Those character icons are very needed though. - In the menu, I find it a bit annoying to change and upgrade gear. If I'm at the merchant, looking at what's available, I need to exit the store to be able to check if that specific item is an upgrade or not. If there is 3-4 items you would like to check, you end up doing this "back and forth" switching a lot between battles and it really annoys and drags the game down. I'd suggest that there is a small > or < showing the current equipped item versus the vendor one on your current selected hero, or similar. Thanks a lot for a superb game! Keep the support up and I'm sure you will keep having the community's support for future releases! /Ajx
Game Center means two things: Most obviously, achievements, which if you're addicted to them is an important part of any game. Whether or not they scratch your itch, a significant amount of people like them. Attracting a bigger audience is a good thing, no matter the reason. Maybe less obviously, some people have a ton of games. One very simple, attractive, and convenient way to organize your library without adding pages and pages to your phone is to simply throw all the games into generic folders on the back page and use Game Center to launch your games. All your games are listed neatly and with large icons, and the games you've been playing recently are automatically moved to the top, along with some basic indication of how much progress you've made (via achievements). With so many games available, it's easy to be more than satisfied with the selection of games that support the OS' Game features, and that means games that for some reason still don't are less likely to be downloaded. Whether that's a barrier to sales that's worth removing is of course up to the dev.
the screen DOES get cluttered.. it doesnt bother me because i understand the clean Ui.. But a way to keep it clean is to.. maybe.. tapping the screen (not on the heros) brings up portraits of your team in the same place where the abilities are shown. tapping the portrait bring up their ability menu. but considering how movement and character selection is implemented, getting out of a cluttered situation wouldnt be any easier that way. i just try and keep my team from overlapping.
..how many people actually launch games from GC? i need a vote on that. to each his own on the topic of the 'Itch' and there is no 'barrier' when it comes to certain developers. (Gameloft, Gameloft, Mika, Even Rovio to name a few.) Even though GC MAYbe a welcome addition, its not a reason a game is purchased. millions didnt buy angry birds for GC. they bought it because it was fun. EDIT:sorry for the double.
That does sound like a simple solution, especially to clear your ally selection in order for you to choose another person.
