Completely impressed. Love the spell details and character animations. I was hoping new gear would be visible on toons, but I think the only change is their weapon appearance? I also felt having the ability to change character names would personalize it a lot. And the other feature I see lacking is in the merchant store it shows you which character can use certain gear pieces, but if you want to compare stats you have to constantly flip back and forth from the armory to the merchant. A simple green up arrow would've made it easier.
i like the game graphics and all those different spells some of which i find very funny ....this game is really engaging .....good job...
Loving the game. I have gone through a good few levels now. the main party I use is Cleric, Starting warrior and monk. I use one other person too but I havent got someone who I love to use. Two things: 1) What is the bards standard action. Is it a heal or some kind of boost?? 2) Will we see a ranger/archer style character at some point as in every game I play as an archer and miss it here. It would fit the 4th slot on my party nicely.
How many maps are there? I just finished the first one with the spider, and would like to know how much more content I have to look forward to!
I agree with those that have said that something needs to be done to combine the Armory/Merchant. I bought some armor that I couldn't use on my mage (even though it was just light studded -- didn't think that would be too much for mage to handle). So ended up selling back for a loss. There should be an easier way to identify that you can't equip certain things with certain characters. Some things are obvious (like staffs), but others aren't.
I have not seen an archer class. I think at this point the classes are Priest, Bard, Knight, Monk, Rogue, Berserkers, Mage, Sorcerer. I'd love an archer, but I'm wondering how it'd be different from the Mage/Sorcerer class. It was said earlier that Bards add their attack score to the target's attack and defense, meaning a bard supporting a character that can draw aggro could be very useful. Bards seem to get healing as a special ability, so they could work as an alternative to Priests.
Has anyone progressed far enough in the game to know what a decent party of 4 should consist of? I know a cleric is a must and want to spend time leveling up characters that are great for mid-late game battles.
Also wanted to report that I've only played a bit, but so far no crashes on my 2G. Despite some minor tweaks that could be made, I'm having the most fun with this game since Bug Heroes (still my favorite RPG-ish game).
I'm impressed too! I hope the developers will take care of this game in the future, with content update, because it really rocks!!! Oh, on a side dreaming note: If this game could have online competitive online would be like best game ever.
I know what the classes are. I was asking could it be added. And im guessing it would shoot arrows from a bow and not use magic. Just a guess though.
A few suggestions. - Show comparisons between items at the merchant vs the gear your dudes. It's pretty cumbersome switching between the 2 screens. - Allow an easier way to select dudes. Maybe put icons on the top of the screen of each character. It gets hard when the screen gets filled with monsters.
To get the most output from your party I would go with: 1 Heals = Cleric/Bard 2 melee classes = Knight, Rogue, Barbarian, Monk 1 ranged class = Wizard/Witch I found the witch to be a little more useful as you can do single target range damage, lower def. of enemies, aoe dot damage, and drain life and convert that to healing an ally which makes her pretty diverse. I'll eventually go back and level a wizard as mages are my favorite class. I also agree that an archer or steampunk gun class would add a lot more to how people would favor having a ranger in their party.
An archer class was on our list, but got cut early on. I'd still like to do one though, it's a very likely addition. Thanks for everyones help and understanding as we blunder through this release. . As I've posted numerous times were all over the random crash issues and will hopefully have a patch submitted in the next day or two. I'm ten times as annoyed as any of you that we let even the slightest glitch through, so rest assured it will be resolved asap. I'm also liking some of the UI improvements I'm hearing proposed, I'm sure we'll work some of them into our first update too (specifically the keep needs levels displayed, and the merchant could use some arrows to indicate upgrades/downgrades).
Regarding people's devices crashing during the Boar Boss battle - my son has an iPod 2G (iOS 4.1) and crashed probably 5 times trying to get through that part. He used different parties, restarted his device, etc and never once found that he was using a certain skill or doing anything particular during the fight to cause it to crash. He just told me that he was able to get through the fight without a crash by hitting the pause button in the upper left of the screen during the fight and then hitting the power off button. He then hit the power button and got back into the game and resumed the boss fight where he had left off. When I'm meaning he hit the power off button I'm not meaning that he held it down and did a hard power cycle - I think everyone reading this knows what I'm meaning... he would also crash a couple of other times but he crashed every time he would fight the boar boss until he came up with that power off trick. Have no idea if what he did helped or not but everytime he would crash before the boss was at 1/4 or less health and his powering off/on trick helped him get through it. Might help provide an idea to MikeMobile as to why the game seems so crashy at that point for many people and it might even help others having that same issue.
I'm not focusing this towards everyone but could some of the crashes be related to cracked versions? Im not jailbroken and haven't had one issue. I'm assuming crashes from that can't be accounted for in testing.
A somewhat random request: What is everything that you want to add/where going to add? I always like to know this stuff, and sometimes I'm amazed at what devs were going to add (an archer class, for instance).
