I think my party was Knight/Cleric/Wizard/Wizard at the time. Basically have the Knight grab aggro and tank in the corner with the Cleric constantly healing him. If the other members take damage, use the AoE heal to top them off.
The Bard buff is great (on a single person). He can get two heals (that I know of), single target and a group regeneration that's temporary. Both of these can be quite the lifesaver in a pinch when you're own cleric is somewhat overwhelmed with healing duties. In addition, you can eventually get a power with him that will make all party members' power cooldowns reset. Now THAT is a beauty in action! I upgraded a couple items, but wish I hadn't because then I ended up receiving a reward that was better.
Just a heads up, were investigating the crashes, and it's our top priority to get a fix in asap. Obviously it isn't effecting everyone, nor do our own devices have the issue, and it doesn't seem to be related to any particular generation or OS version, so it's a bit tricky to nail down. I have some theories I'll be testing as soon as I'm back to my computer (currently out of the office for a couple days).
I was able to beat him on my second try (first try crashed). It's definitely a LOT harder, but definitely doable at Level 5. That might just be all the hours of WoW talking though. As long as you pay attention to the bombs, you pretty just have to repeat the same series of steps against the boar. When the adds spawn, have a second melee take care of them on one side and try to have your tank also pick up the ones on his side. If either of my casters get agro, have them run towards the boss, or one of your melee, who can pick them off. I had my beserker pop his damage abilities and go all out whenever the cooldown was up. For the priest, I found the damage shield to be super useful. I'm building my tank to be as good at possible at tanking, and my cleric to be as good as possible at healing -- that means not taking damage boosting abilities, in favor of things that will help heal. I'm also building my wizard to kind of be the 'AoE' guy to take care of large groups, and my Beserker to burn down single targets (like bosses). I'll probably find there's a lot more strategies to try out, but this has been pretty working well for me. The ideal party for me is a tank, an off-tank/melee DPS, some sort of DPS caster (witch/wizard), and a healer. I haven't fought the slime boss yet, but looking forward to it. The mini slimes I've seen hit HARD and so I've been kiting them around with whoever has agro. Seems they don't have the same agro model as the normal monsters, which are kind of cool. Another thing I love about the normal enemy encounters is that different types of enemies have different sorts of 'priority' that you need to kill them in. There is, for instance, a necromancer/mage type enemy that constantly heals others. You have to burn him down quickly, or he'll often heal faster than you can deal damage. Couldn't put this game down since I got it, logged 2.5 hours yesterday
I have gotten through the first set of maps, using a knight, barbarian, wizard, and healer. This includes the first 2 bosses. The barbarian is good for an offtank for 5-7 seconds, as long as you don't use his abilities. I also have some lifesteal on him. Using his abilities while he does not hold aggro is amazing. I have pretty much exclusively leveled up the weapons of my barb/wizard as they easily hit the hardest, while upgrading my knight's armor, and stacking +healing gear on him. I throw the healer upgrades every once in a while, but so far, i haven't needed her upgraded like the rest. My arena total is 61, but that was before I beat the 2nd boss, I am sure I could demolish that now. All in all I love this game, easily one of my top 5 games, and was 2nd on my list of most wanted,(first being fft) As of right now for me. 1 Battleheart 2 Game story dev 3 Secret of Mana 4 DD 5 IB
The level that I am at right now I can get the boss to about 1/4 of his health and all four of my team is at about full health. So I know I won't be defeated by the boss. It just won't stop crashing. So my defeat is by the game and device. I am starting over on a different device to try again. Obviously I won't lose that game but starting over will be fun too! But thanks Mika Mobile for responding and looking into it.
I think its amazing that we have one of the developers in here checking on things! One thing I would like to add, and its definitely not a priority over the crashing, is the way experience is handled. I tried to solo a character expecting to get experience x4 but the that's not how it works. You get the same experience after a battle regardless of how many characters participate. If its at all possible to change this that would be awesome. One of the things that gives this kind of game staying power is the ability to play through in a variety of different ways and difficulties. Being able to play though with just one character would be a lot of fun and bring new challenges. It is currently possible to play through with just one but allowing that character to get more experience for soloing would make it even better. Thanks. Love the game so far!
Ok I need gamecenter support. Also the game crashes on boar level as well for me. And you should be able to see the stats of your characters in the keep so you can compare.
I just wanted to agree with Forsaken Media and Lazy Peon that this game would be easier to control with character portraits as an alternative to tapping the character since it can be hard to select the correct hero when they are grouped together.
Just beat the slime boss, his difficulty level is about 10 times harder than the boar boss. I didn't really think you could make the fights more intersting than what you did with the spider/boar, but this was my favorite fight by far.
Boss battles are a blast! I think portraits would clutter up the screen too much (on iphone). Would be nice if it was an option. I'm not sure what the alternative is though. One suggestion: 25% xp to party members not being used, so when you choose to use another character later on, the grind isn't too long?
anyone having an issue with the sound, i cant seem to get any to come out this game is awesome, quickly becoming my favorite game on the phone
This game is absolutely fantastic. I haven't had a single crash, and I just beat the boar on my second try. My party consists of a cleric, knight, barbarian, and wizard all of which are over level 5. Once you get the wave pattern down, the boar just takes time and patience to kill. Always have the cleric healing the party as they get below half of their health and use the shield ability and protect ability with the knight as your tank. The barbarian attacking from behind with fury and rage, and the wizard can stand aside using fireball and blizzard. When the boar throws bombs move away, and when he summons minions just use the knight and barbarian to split up and take left/right side. Then repeat.
I'm afraid to report I'm having pretty consistent crashes on the boar level. And when I say pretty consistent I mean everytime! I'm loving the game though. Just can't continue, I may try a reinstall as nothing else has worked...
I just beat the Golem boss. He's incredibly difficult if you don't know what to do, but his powers and pattersn are far more predictable then the other bosses, which you can take advantage of.
With all the praise this is getting, this may be my first Mika Mobile purchase. For what the game is, if they truly supported this game and added a lot of extra content to what is currently here (more equipment and classes) I think this would truly be one of the gems of the App Store. Mika Mobile, what kind of plans do you guys have to intergrate into the game in the future, if you don't mind me asking?
i'd go for more maps as iAP's.. (and that may seem like blasphemy to alot of you cheapskates) but first, fix the crashing issues. NOTE: i coulda swore there was an Archer class in here.. geez.. and where is that (omg) ninja?
