Yeah, the graphics already look good enough if there are decently sized maps with tanks. CQ is cool if you're running into a lot of C4 spammers in rush.
In order to truly open this up in a way that closely mirrors the console version, I would imagine that down-sizing the graphics to a certain degree would be a neccessity. Just look at Gangstar Miami Vindication. We all know that Gameloft is more than capable of producing better graphics then what is featured in that game. However, certain sacrifices had to be made in order to create a truely open environment. I don't know how big the maps would be for the mobile version of Bad Company, but the average map on the console version of Battlefield is like 5 to 6 times bigger then a normal map in COD.
Sorry but MW2 can't compete with BC2, the only reason MW2 got so Many sales was because the first MW was amazing. MW2 had a shockingly bad campaign and glitchy, unbalanced multiplayer. BC2 blew it away with a better campaign (Not a perfect one admittedly) and sublime multiplayer which was fair and well paced. Now back on topic I'm hoping the game gets destructible enviroments, vehicles and alot of players online
True, MW2 was kind of a disaster, though the graphics were amazing. Hope this game has controls like Modern Combat, and it has Online leaderboards and big maps.
No BC2 graphics are way better. BC2 graphics can compete with Crysis. MW2 just looks like MW with better lighting.
I dont know which one but i seems to me that they cant have both vechiles and destructable enviroments.
Yeah, yeah i didn't say the graphics on BC2 aren't amazing, they are easily better than Mw2, but mw2 graphics are still amazing.
Bad Company 2's graphics are decent, but they're not the most detailed graphics around, and the lighting is funky. Plus, there are a ton of weird graphical glitches.
I find the overall experience of MW2 to be more polished (controls, sound, graphics and general feel), but I think BFBC2 is still the better game mainly thanks to the gameplay which doesn't suck like MW2.
How did we get into the BC2 and MW2 debate again? I have the same wish as all of you. Big maps, destructible environments, plenty vehicles, LOTS of guns, varied gameplay, 16-32 player multiplayer. However, I also know that the iPhone and iPod wouldn't be able to handle ALL of them. I'm not exactly expecting all these things, but I still am hoping for them, don't get me the wrong way.
frankly I think the devices can handle a maximum of 10 players per team. Modern Combat can handle 5 v 5 very easily, so we will see. I personally am hoping for a great campaign, one that plays directly from the console version. I want a stealthy mission where my job is to pick off baddies with a sniper rifle. Modern Combat I just felt as though I was running and gunning the entire game without any type of tactical approach. Modern Combat's campaign sucks shit. and I absolutley hate it. The multiplayer is the only thing I play the game for now.
5 on 5 is definetely enough if the maps are the size of MC2, though if they're bigger with accessable balconies, roofs, buildings then 10 on 10 would be a dream. I've always wanted big maps and high rooftops (like mc2 embassy mission) where you can snipe off. There was never that in MC1 & MC2, except that jungle map where theres a small sniping spot. I also hope the graphics are getting improved, looking at the screenshots, because i really would like another Modern War game- console like characteristics, with online over 3G. Even if this doesn't happen, the iPhone/iPod touch is the best portable gaming console ever all because off MC2 and FIFA11!!!!!
No promoting by EA ? Strange. I know how you feel. I've been searching everywhere online for any news about this title and haven't found anything new concerning release date, or details on gameplay. BFBC2 is my favorite PS3 shooter and I really want the iphone version to be similar. Modern Combat Sandstorm 2: Black Pegasus was very impressive and it gives me hope that BF will be a console-like experience. However, even with EA's current line-up of great games for iOS, I have doubts that they can produce a FPS that has up-to-date graphics, good controls, and smooth multiplayer. Keep in mind that EA has a lot of experience making console-FPS's but not for the iOS. If Gameloft helped develop this, I would be more inclined to trust the final product. The BIG, BIG developers are playing catch-up with Gameloft's quality. I really hope EA takes their mobile division seriously and realizes the power of the devices they are developing for.
