Source. EDIT: After a bit of Googling, I found this... http://www.ripten.com/2010/10/05/3d-support-for-call-of-duty-black-ops/ And within that article is this: Is this a reliable source?
Glu doesn't develop high-end iphone games. They make casual iphone games, but they really specialize in java-based games for regular cell phones. That COD game Glu will be developing is just that, a java-game for standard cell phones. It's not going to be for smartphones. Activision would oversee development themselves of a iphone-based COD game. They would never pass something like that off to a company like Glu. There has absolutely no official announcements regarding an iDevice COD game.
i tweeted the guy who makes COD Zombies, someone named Josh Olin like 2 months ago and he said that the iphone will not get Black Ops
I just told you guys. The mobile verison of Black Ops is a java-based game, developed by GLU, for regular cell phones. It IS NOT an iphone game.
AHH yay, an expected release of November... My birthday month! Knowing EA though, it's probably November 2013
He didn't say it IS a DS port, he said it LOOKS like a DS port. And I have to agree with him. Those screenshots look even worse than Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes (I think it was the very first 3D shooter on the iPhone) which was released over a year ago.
I would definetly not say it looks worse than BiA 1: Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes: Battlefield: Bad Company 2: still, I am quite disappointed with the graphics like this.
I disagree. Here is a screenshot from BiA: Compare that to the images in the OP. Keep in mind too that BiA runs poorly on all hardware -- it seems to have been locked to 20 FPS. Obviously MC2 looks way better, but if EA can pull off destructible environments and fast, less linear gameplay, it could very well be a worthhwhile title.
I forgot how bad BIA looks, but I just searched for some screenshots and even so I still think it looks better. The main problem I have with the BFBC2 screenshots is that they are as blurry as hell (which will probably look even worse on the retina display if it isn't optimised). The texture quality looks more or less the same to me, but at least BIA has sharp edges. BIA: BFBC2:
I actually don't mind a small drop in graphic detail if it means more content brought over from what made the PC/console versions so addicting. I really hope they spend a good deal on the multiplayer side bringing over the perks, ranking system and customization options. SP was fun but multiplayer is where people will be spending most of their time on.
