This serves all you whiners right. All the whining about how Gameloft was cloning and copying from other games, now you're seeing an original port and i see people struggling to hide their dissapointment. I hope all the Gameloft bashers put their money where their mouth is and pony up the cash for this one. People who just want really good and full featured FPS will stick with the NOVAs and MCs of this world, clone or not.
I rarely see people bashing Gameloft, so i'm not sure where you're coming from. Besides, EA is known for half assed ports, so this really isn't a big surprise, albeit a bit disappointing. Now, GTA:CTW completely blows away anything Gameloft has made, so you can't generalize all ports as disappointing.
Does this game offer Gyro aiming as MC2? Cause that is simply the best way to way to play when you get used to it!
You guys expect way too much for an iPhone game, at such a small price IMO. Just because a few games are released for a very small price, and have tons of features, you expect every game to be the same. It's EA's first attempt at an FPS for the iPhone, and it's shaping up to be pretty good. Sure, there aren't a few features that haven't been included, but it still looks awesome. Look at FIFA 10. When that hit the App Store, it was a huge disappointment. Their rival? I'd say X2 Football. This year they upgraded their FIFA series by A LOT. FIFA 11 is the best football game on the App Store, IMO, looking as if EA took into account their rivals. If that's what's going to happen with this game, I'm fine with that. I'm not going to judge the game before I play it.
Amen to that wundaii... i have high hopes that this game will be AWESOME I mean where in MC2 can we ride and control a chopper!!! At least EA is bringing something new in the iOS' FPS, Just saying. Btw IGN also had a hands-on preview with this game and stated that some stages in this game requires stealth skills.
What is a 3G unrestrictor, I understand what it does but is it something you need to be jailbroken to use?
Not sure if it's been posted yet, but this has me even more pumped for this game. Hm. Won't embed... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjENyWUCqLI&feature=player_embedded
I'm kinda dissapointed with this. Just 4 players online is just stupid... Even NOVA has more(I think) and it has been almost 2 years since it came out. No destructible buildings also sucks. And man, what does the fire button do on the left?!
1. NOVA also only has 4 players online. and only deathmatch (this also has team deathmatch) 2. NOVA came out just under a year ago. (few days less right now)
that's not a fire button, thats the iron sight button and Nova will just be a year old this month FYI and If you want destructible environments play the console version.
"LISTEN UP EVERYONE" !!!!!!!!!!! My 2 cents on this whole deal, 1. When asked what would separate Battlefield BC2 (iOS) from other FPS games on the iphone, the response from EA was "the brand."----------Clearly EA is relying on the 'name' to sell the game, and has no interest in impressing its customers, nor scaring other development teams with a new 'Frostbite' engine for iOS. This is just a 'piss-poor' effort to jump on the FPS wagon, and from the comments i've seen on this forum, EA is right! They will sell this based strictly on the popularity of the 'brand', as many here have expressed clearly, "They will buy, no matter what!" ---the psych-marketing dept. at EA sure knows its customer's brains pretty well, eh? 2. No one was more psyched about this game than me. And the mystery that surrounded it, fueled the fire of anticipation even more-so. After the vid, I'm really not that impressed, especially for a big player like EA. ----- Gameloft could have added 'kill-streaks' in MP and slapped the 'Call of Duty' name to MCS2, and everyone would have believed it. It really is a great representation/re-creation of that series (be it a rip-off or not). Battlefield BC2 (iOS) does not represent the "idea" or gameplay of the console/pc series. In reality, they should have used the "Medal of Honor" franchise for this instead.------ So for all you defenders of this upcoming monstrosity, be sure to think clearly on why/what you are 'really' defending.
@weehoo For number 1, I thought of that, but it could also mean that they think BFBC2 is on par with other FPS games in the App Store, the only difference is the name. I don't they meant that BFBC2 is crap but is relying on its name to get sales. But yea, I agree that I'm fairly disappointed from what I've seen so far. I mean, it looks kind of good, but the 4-player multiplayer is disappointing.
When I think of this game, I couldnt care less about it's name or brand. To me it's another shooting game, and if it entertains me over the long Christmas period, job done!
