Even the concrete walls being blown apart by mere bullets? The game looks cool, but no more realistic than BFBC2 & MW2. Speaking of realism, is anyone here looking forward to Operation Flashpoint: Red River? I enjoyed Dragon Rising so I'll probably get Red River.
I'm hoping for a few Bf2 maps to make a come back in BF3... If we could get a Bf3 of ghost town I think I could die happy!!!
Ok control system simple boils down to personal preference...some people play better with a controller, while others with mice, but if you want to go into technicalities, yes keyboard is better. And games like Battlefield may have an Aim Assist...but look at CoD. Aim assist is ALWAYS enabled in that game (besides in World at War...it had an option). And considering that a lot of people keep aim assist on...why would you intentionally leave it off? You're giving yourself a disadvantage. I will admit that the mouse is easier to use than a controller with aim assist disabled, but in a game like CoD, the controller is a lot easier to use.
Alright, we'll leave it at a difference of opinion There are "ifs" and "buts" to practically every argument anyway, that's why not all games are the same and not all control methods are the same... it's a constant learning curve for everyone, developers included. The main thing is BF3 is going to be awesome and we're all gonna love it If you mean the part with the sniper, they say in the video he's using a .50 cal which, as we know is capable of totally f***ing up brickwork
No I'm talking about the part where the player is shooting up at a balcony with his assault rifle at 4:30 and blows a big chunk out. Also blowing up cars by shooting a couple times at them isn't exactly realistic. Fun, but not realistic.
Ah. I don't remember what happened at that bit but you're probably right. The destruction in BFBC2 was a million miles from realistic but it sure was fun. It's more like the kind of "realism" you get in an action movie
Nothing beats hiding in a building and taking shots when you hear the building about to come down on top of you... The best part about frostbite is every matchup is different, I especially like when a match carries on WAY too long and the landscape becomes practically flattened...
Yeah it's awesome, no two battlefields are ever the same and you can more or less create your own vantage points by strategically making holes in walls. Plus it's just plain fun landing an air strike clean on a building populated by camping enemies.
I've been on a rush map where we held one of the control points FOREVER, and we literally had a giant hole in the ground from all the demo/UAV/Arty strikes, so big in fact we had about 5 guys fighting from it!... It's pretty amazing how much the destructible environments add to the game, and I have a feeling Bf3 will be even crazier!...
Anyone thinks it'll be stupid to buy this game even if you're never going to play online? (512kbps ultra-fast broadband coupled with even worse lag issues ) Btw, I bought a PS3 just to play BFBC2 and havent bought any other game to date
I loved the BFBC2 campaign and usually buy games more for their single player than multiplayer. The only online games I've ever really enjoyed were CoD4 and BFBC2. I'm definitely making more of an effort to get online with BF3 but I'm secretly really looking forward to the campaign... I'd still buy it if I had no internet connection.
@IMNS - The single player campaign will most likely warrant a purchase in itself whether you play online or not, but it is designed around the multiplayer aspect. As for BC2 I have yet to get past the second level in the campaign, not because it isn't great but because the multiplayer IS THAT GREAT!
There are a lot of games I know I'd really enjoy but the fact is I never sit down front of the TV and play games on it (anymore). I think I've used the PS3 for about 20 hours in last one year. Maybe I'll rent it one of these days. And Red dead redemption. And LBP. And God of War. And GTA IV. Or maybe I'll just get BF3 only Oh well, I know I'm gonna end up buying it. Was hoping someone will tell me the offline mode in BF3 is crap and I'll save some money
