I have this weird complex where if I don't have acertain piece of dlc I feel left out, Especially if I see other people with it. That and I do like dog tags (the knife isn't my 3rd most used weapon for no reason), I like the designs for some of the pre order tags, and I like knowing that I have stuff that a lot of people don't have, even if I never or rarely will use it myself.
I too have the same DLC complex! That's the reason I had to quit TF2, it was getting WAY out of hand. I found a website, can't say which one here but I paid $5 paypal for the specact kit + the preorder dogtags and received my codes within 2 hours. Just do a search and you should be able to find a similar deal.
