Well, so far the beta is pretty fun for me, though I have gotten a rude reminder that my pc is aging. I get lag playing on med/high settings, and the frame rate is at a reasonable amount only when all graphics settings are turned down on a notch.

Damn, I really wish I played a few days earlier, operation metro is fine but I really was looking forward to Caspian border. Oh well.

Still dot know if I'm buying the full game, but I don't think I'll let my hardware limitations choose for me. I mean, it's a great game, whether on low settings or on high.

Yeah, apparently I seem to lag, even if i set it to the lowest settings. I guess BF3 was really meant for very high end computers hahah

Wait, shouldn't I be able to play BF3 on lowest settings? I ran a "Can You Run It" test. But at minimum, the pixel and vertex shader aren't enough. Anyone check this? The required is 4.0, but I meet the requirement, although 4.1 is in parenthesis...

Unfortunately, Intel integrated graphic cards can't run many high end games these days. :(

Dang. I guess that's a no. I can't really replace it easily since I have a laptop... So I guess my only option is to stick with the console in the end.

sorry about that. :( I hear the console version is still pretty good. The main difference in gameplay is smaller battles, but it's still bigger than many other first person shooters.

A question to everyone who has had the chance to play Caspian Border as well as Operation Metro. Is there a significant change in frame rate when you play between the two maps, on the same graphics setting? Could someone who has a fairly decent rig, playing on medium/low settings answer me, because I would assume that good gaming rigs would handle all maps well enough that a change in frame rate is not as noticable.

Operation Metro is a fairly small map compared to others, so even though my pc can handle it with a decent framerate at med/low setting and 1600x900 resolution, I'm afraid that fairly bigger maps like Caspian Border (that also holds double the amount of players) would punish my pc to the point where the framerate is just unaceptable.

Played in the morning when the servers just went up, and there was a ton of server lag. Just played a few rounds in the evening, and the lag seems to have gone away, though sometimes the frames freeze up for several seconds. Caspian Border is definitely a sick map. I experienced little lag playing on low graphical settings, but I kind of find it hard to pick out enemies cause all environments are pixelly, especially the shadows.

Anyone else having massive frame rate drops on Caspian Border? I've seen threads about this on the beta forums. I mean, yesterday I was playing on medium settings with pretty good frames per second, mind the lag. But today even on low i suffer from low fps.

I'm using a pretty beefed up computer but I'm almost 100% positive the lag and frame rate issues you guys are talking about are coming from the server side. I wouldn't worry about it until the retail launches, but I too have had some frame rate issues and lag trouble JUST on Caspian Border but when it's working good my FPS are about the same as Op Metro. So if your getting good FPS on metro I wouldn't worry about Caspian as the issues your getting should all be server related and hopefully fixed by launch.

Does anyone find the Battleblog extremely annoying? You have to launch EVERYTHING from there as if origin was not enough. I don't need my games becoming like facebook, just give a good ol' in game server browser. This also means that you have to be connected to the Internet just to play the campaign. From the beta, you can also only change the game settings from ingame and this is troublesome because the graphics changes only take place once you load a new server or load the next game.

Yup, battlelog is a b*tch. However, I do like the fact that it shows all unlocks you're about to receive if you get a couple more kills with certain weapons or vehicles.
