After playing a few matches I am very disappointed. The game seems half finished. It looks bland. Shooting isn't as satisfying. The overall layout is confusing. Team-specific weapons is an awful idea. Defenders get 100 spawns instead of 75. The list goes on. I know I'm being cynical but I thought DICE would be able to pull off something that is at least ON PAR with the amazing Bad Company 2. Instead I got a sloppy port of a PC game that takes steps backwards as opposed to moving forward. Oh, and this: YOU STILL CAN'T QUIT IN BETWEEN MATCHES. UGH. I hope DICE gets their s&*% together fast. I was already considering canceling my preorder and the beta is just solidifying my decision.
Team specific weapons is a carry over from the first battlefield. Never seen a Russian military member using an M-16, it just doesn't happen and keeps true to the original franchise. As for the bugs remember this is a Beta and definitely not the final product, but yea there's a lot and I hope they can fix them all in time for launch. I'm sure a lot of people will have a hard time enjoying this title if you're expecting a revamped bad company or never played the original battlefield games but... BAD COMPANY IS NOT A TRUE BATTLEFIELD GAME!!! Bad company was Dice's answer to MWarfare franchise and was made to be a direct competitor to it. In fact nothing about bad company ever felt like a battlefield game other then it had vehicles and a conquest mode. But if your only expierence with a battlefield game is bad company then you have no idea what battlefield is or should play like. BF3 is a perfect mixture of Bf2 and 2142 and plays exactly as I would have expected it. Battlefield is more of a real combat simulator in the fact that you CANNOT Rambo your ass around and expect to stay alive like you could in Bc2. It takes tactics, teamwork, and stealth. If your not prone at least 30% of the time then you're doing it wrong. Teamwork is absolutely more essential in this game unlike BC2 where you could almost support an entire team by yourself. While I can't speak for the console versions, I can say the PC version is easily going to be the best one in the franchise. [EDIT] - I wanted to add I have nothing against bad company 2 and love it to bits! It's a great game and I've had countless hours on it, I was just stating that it was never a "real" battlefield game and those hoping BF3 would be BC2.5 will be in for a rude surprise.
I've always had this trouble with bf games, yet I could never find an answer. Whenever I start a game, it finds me a game then the instant i join the screen turns black, the mouse cursor freezes, and I can't do anything except pull the plug on my computer. People online have said to update drivers. I've tried updating all of the drivers, installing AMD hotfix, allowing the program on windows firewall and McAfee, and my PC meets the recommended requirements for the game. Any help?
I never heard them say that before but you could be right. Keep in mind I was called a camper last night because I was defending and prone in the subway just wasting guys coming down the tunnel with the support class. It's funny because in my world that's call defending a choke point or an area of opportunity (4 years as Marine infantry so I know a little tactics). But yea there are some true campers that hide in the bushs and never move, but there's a huge difference when defending, this isn't modern warfare or BC2 this is battlefield and hiding is a fair tactic. One guy with a machine gun properly positioned can defend an entire line while the rest of the team can take the opposite side for a flanking attack. People are still getting used to the play style and I think will get used to the tactics in fair time, but the badcompany tactics of rushing in and spraying and praying isn't working and I've seen a lot of people resort to calling people campers when really all they're doing is taking up a good defensive position and holding it.
I had to disable UpnP on my router to fix my disconnect issues and since then haven't had one. Also if your running any adblock plugins on your browser disable them I've heard that fixes it for some people. What's your computers specs and we'll start from there.
Ok, I just tried disabling my UpnP, and no such luck. I don't have any adblock plugins or programs. Hmmm you should definitely be able to run it at least at medium settings... Have you done a clean uninstall on your Catalysts Control Center and then reinstalled? That fixed a lot of my issues, other than that maybe sit tight until the official drivers hit sometime this week? Sucks man sorry I can't help more then that, it would drive me crazy!

I'm getting it for the Xbox 360 mainly because the majority of my gaming friends are there, otherwise I would've gotten it for PS3 (which I'm currently playing the beta on). Oh yeah, and also, I have a 2.13 KDR in the beta but less than 1 in BC2. Is this telling me something? Oh yes.
I've been playing the PC demo for a couple of matches and I gotta say the graphics on Ultra are amazing, rivaling Crysis 2. The only Battlefield game I've played was Bad Company 2 so this feel quite different. Some of the bugs in the beta can be really frustrating, especially the glitching through the ground in the park. I'm not completely sold on the game yet, I'd just like a taste of that 32 vs 32 action, only experienced 16 vs 16 so far.
I only got the floor bug once when I was attacking and was stuck underneath the Mcom station, I'm not proud to say it but I took advantage of the situation and killed everyone from underneath while they tried to deactivate it. As for 32vs32, I got about 6-7 rounds in on caspian before they pulled the servers and it's an entirely different game. The level is just MASSIVE and definitely justified my preorder for me.
Yea go I to your uninstall programs through the control panel in windows, uninstall Catylyst control center and then reinstall with the new 11.10 preview drivers and see if that does anything. When I installed over without uninstalling first my FPS dropped to like 20 after I re did it with the uninstall my FPS kicked up to about 75-85 FPS
