Don't get me wrong, rush is fantastic and so is the operation metro map, I just was hoping for something new..
I'm not too into the competitive modes in these games. Is BF3 going to have some good coop modes, where you're battling AI together? I know there's the coop campaign, but I mean other modes. Also, how many players in the coop campaign? I'm really enjoying the 4 player coop campaign in Gears of War 3 and really hope that BF3 has something akin to that.
There are at least 4 players on co-op from what I've heard. I'm also hoping for a survival-like mode like the BF3 version that DICE was planning for the iDevices.
Not to invalidate your opinion here, but one of the things I like most about Battlefield's competitive modes is that they essentially feel like co-operative modes. You've got such a big team and provided they work together it almost makes no difference who's controlling the enemy players.
I can appreciate that, but I just didn't find the online in BF:BC2 to be very fun anyway. Perhaps because I can't play hours every day and so I'm at a huge disadvantage and just die over and over. If I put the time into it I'm sure I could have gotten better, but I guess I just didn't feel the motivation to do that. I'd rather just jump into something that's fun right away. For example, playing co-op modes with friends.
Oh, I see what you mean. You may want to play Black Ops or MW2 for your tastes. They have some decent coop modes and are quick-to-play experiences. Or if your a big CoD fan you might buy MW3 to complete the campaign trilogy. But yeah, same game, new year. You should stick to CoD for you personal preferences though, imo.
Apparently for the lulz, there might be a dinosaur mode for Battlefield 3... Btw, today is the last day to pre-order BF3 to receive the free Physical Warfare Pack and early beta.
read this to get in the know... its all a joke on DICE's part http://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/dino.png
lol That toy dinosaur was being held by the player most likely as a memento from childhood or someone he knew/his son. The other picture is... Photoshopped? Woah, just found this: http://www.techspot.com/news/45587-ps3-gamers-get-exclusive-early-access-to-battlefield-3-expansions.html And when's the last day to get the Back to Karkand with a pre-order? I'm not talking about the Physical Warfare pack that ends today.
I think Back to Karkland ends today, if that's part of the Limited Edition set. Don't take my word for it though, I'm just assuming haha http://store.origin.com/store/ea/html/pbPage.battlefield3_US_LE/OMNITURE/sourceid=EASTORE_PaidSearch_DR_limited_edition_battlefield_3_Broad_Match_adgroupid_Battlefield_3_-_Editions_Google_AD1 I think it notes on the video that Dice said was a joke on 4chan lol, but hey, you never know
Well after a day with the open beta I can say I'm very happy with the game. The graphics look amazing at Ultra Settings averaging 70+ FPS. Here's a short video of one of my runs. Wish I had my capture software running for my last round I just played, I killed it and got 1st place with 42K/34D ratio. I just wish FRAPS didn't slow my game down so much when recording or I would just leave it on all the time. Seems the best kills happen when your not recording. I should be uploading some more videos in the next few days (With better music) so make sure you subscribe to my channel! Enjoy!
So if your on the PC Beta, currently you can get a password to play Caspian Border, I just got to play my first 64 player round with jets and tanks and the map is HUGE (Got video of it too)!!! Anyways the password is only working on a few servers and will be changed by tomorrow most likely so get in while you can! Password is: "SexyElevator"
Here's the video of Caspian Border. This map is just freaking HUGE!! By far one of the largest I've played in any Battlefield from 1942 and up! Enjoy!
Brian's making me want a better computer. Because supposedly on test run sites, my graphics card has half the performance needed for the minimum requirement for Bad Company 2.
Just plugged my 360 Controller in to see how much easier jets were to handle... DAMN! Perfect!! In fact the controller works really well just running around. I'd imagine if you tweaked the sensitivity to your liking you'd never have to use Mouse and KB in game if you didn't want too, which is good because a ton of my friends just prefer a controller.
Just had a really annoying time with the graphics on Battlefield 3 for the xbox... There's washed out colors that didn't seem right, and there were darks that seemed too dark; especially after going in the metro station. It also felt like killing a player was very bland at times, unlike Bad Company 2, where it somehow feels more rewarding. Most of the time I ended up dying because of a few bullets and waiting to respond another 10 seconds, and then heading back to the objective. On the PC version however, the graphics are completely different, and it's just like what you would see on the videos, but the gameplay had a similar affect just like the xbox. Hopefully this will all be improved by the time BF3 launch hits
