After playing MC3, I think EA is going to be hard pressed to match the experience with a freemium title, even if it is a well known name like BF3. Vehicles would make a difference though, as well as improved weapon selection.
i really hope this game actually comes out, it sounds like its taking the route march of heroes is taking with showing off the game at a games convention then not saying another word about the game. From what ive read it seems like they are having alot of problems with this game since they created a new engine from scratch just for this game. i honestly wouldn't mind if its freemium if it was a full game, but the way they are making it, with the wave based system instead of campaign is so they can grind you for your money if you wanna keep going through the waves. just like gameloft did with dungeon hunter 3 and the freemium aspect of multiplayer leaves you with alot to mess up, like gameloft did, by allowing you to buy kill-streaks with coins, the greed gets in the way of making a well balanced game.
I am certain that it would com out late january or early feb As long as ea website for iphone do not show BF3 aftershock on its upcoming release game .... It won't come out.... So we need to wait till that game pop out
Maybe yes or maybe not....depends on ea...on how they develop the game Quite a no. Of ppl is unhappy wif ea including me...
Why does my opinion make no sense?? You don't understand logic. I guess I'll explain it to you then, lol. Freemium is greedy. It's a cash grab and the whole point of it is too make as much money as possible through IAP's. So unfortunately some foolish gamer will spend 40 bucks ( or even more ) on IAP's over a 6 dollar game. To me that's idiotic. I always buy my games at one price. I don't go for IAP's. So if Battlefield 3 is a good game at a set price, sure I would probably buy it, but forget that Freemium crap. Now is that a good enough explanation for you ???? LOL !
Depends if the iap are INSANE. like gems or "bucks" for pets. But if its .99 for a pack of five guns or a good amount of "bucks" to buy guns, I will buy some iap, but the game already wasnt free...FORGET IT!!!!
The problem to me as far as freemium is this: would I rather pay a dollar to get something inside a game or buy a new game? It's generally "a dollar for a gun" type of thing (or higher) and then it's smarter just to buy a new game. To me, this is but one reason freemium is annoying, since I find what you're buying to often be pointless... now if it's a dollar or two to say, activate multiplayer (and have it unlimited) then I'd say it's a great deal. But with freemium, a dollar isn't worth that much, unlike for buying apps on teh app store...
Yeah....remember the time that iOS games were booming a couple of years ago? Well neither do I. Excessive IAP and Freemium crap are driving the iOS games into a downward spiral. If this keep up, PS Vita will be my only choice for portable gaming.
That is the trend now. App games are not as big as they were two years or even a year ago. I think it's that way for a couple reasons. There are so many good games and with regular sales, no one wants to spend more than a few bucks for a triple AAA title. A year ago Infinity blade 2 would have been top sales for months despite being 5.99. Another reason is that gaming companies like Onlive gives gamers more options for their gaming needs. They have their own servers, so they can directly stream games to your PC ( without taking space on your hard drive) or if your lucky enough to have a compatible Android device, Onlive streams games to mobile devices. So you can play Batman Arkham city or Borderlands on a mobile device. I have the Onlive service and yesterday I picked up Borderlands for 3.50 ! So these factors make app games less desirable than before. Getting back to Freemium, who wants to spend a ton of money on an iPhone game, no one.
That's the thing, freemium games don't make u spend a cent unless you're impatient. Most people don't pay but since freemium reaches so many people, some will get hooked and others will spend so much time playing, they may end up feeling obligated to support the team as well as reaping the 'rewards'. You are right abt the one dollar sales, though.
Not to be argumentative but with Freemium games you need to spend some money, otherwise you will be stuck in the introductory stages of the game. If you didn't spend any money in Six Guns you wouldn't advance in the game at all. That's why I didn't even bother with that game. IAP's are a different story though. Ie, Modern combat 3 is a great game, sure you could upgrade on coins buy purchasing them but if you have patience, it isn't necessary.
One problem I've found with freemium games is they're hardly EVER fun. VERY few exceptions. They just aren't enjoyable...
The problem with iOS being a portable gaming console is that it's not marketed as such. Developers and people like us on TA are pushing for it to compete, but Apple isn't really doing their part. The reason why: they can sell their devices like crazy anyways and will receive a cut of anything that hits the AppStore. Honestly, the only thing that Apple markets is an over saturated market and Game Center (which needs big improvements). Most people I know don't even have the slightest clue as to what my device is capable of. I show them something like Shadowgun and I generally get the response, "Wow, I didn't know this could do that! Is it even fun to play on that tiny screen?" As far as OnLive, I don't really see it as anything other than a gimmick. This may be partly due to me owning a console system and not caring to play games built for console on a 3.5" display. Also, looking at the list of games on OnLive, nothing really stands out above top, quality games I own on my iPod. OnLive is good for streaming to a computer and that's about it IMO. I saw the darksider video for Android and I wasn't feeling it at all. Hell, I didn't even like the game for console. TBH, I prefer a ton of games over games like MC3 and similar because of how I perceive the platform itself; not that I'm kocking shooters or anything. I'll say this, the guys over at Chair make some pretty valid arguments in their interviews. Again, don't get me wrong, I still enjoy games like Shadowgun, M.U.S.E. and DZLS. Freemium, doesn't seem to be helping any of this either. The only thing I've seen is lack of quality in some freemium games and ridiculous IAP in multiplayer. This all my opinion, and I'd rather it not be debated. It's just how I view everything after owning just about every game system made since PS1. The handhelds never kept my attention like iOS because I always had a console system. My DS lasted about 6 months before I sold it to Gamestop. My PSP (the original) lasted about a year, but I never really played it. The only portable game system I still have is my Gameboy Advance. Same thing goes with the Wii, the gimmick only lasted about a year before it went right back to Gamestop. As far as my PC, I've only ever used it for MMORPGs and the SIMS. I haven't even played PC games in a long while. There's two things that have lasted me: my 360 (which I rarely play nowadays) and my iDevice (my primary gaming platform). Apple should try and market the iPod 5 as a more hardcore gaming system IMO. The only reason I even own one is to lay games on it and I have a few apps. Other than that, it serves no purpose. Hmm...maybe Gameloft should've been innovating instead of making clones. I wonder if things would be different?!? Maybe Apple should improve its standards!?!
