Look's like it'll play pretty good , glad this game will releasing on iOS because I am having a blast playing it on my console and would like to see how it'll play out on my iPod.
I thought people had done this for ages? It seems it is possible to make it harder by cross-checking the purchase with an independent server. Gameloft for example do this with their games IAPs.
Freemium or not, im getting it. I have no console or capable computer, so any FPS on iOS is a godsend. I hate that they're doing it tho. Its retarded
It's interesting leaving a thread and coming back after a while to see what's going on. I sure hope this has some intro price that is higher than $0. If not it'll be tough to keep this safe during an app purge.
Well isn't it obvious that it's freemium? There's an energy display in the screenshots and various news sites that got to play the game said it felt like this was going to be a freemium game.
Because, if done properly, this game would probably be worth 19.99, or more, in EA's eyes, yet there's a stubborn base of iOS games who would refuse to pay more then .99c for it. But, if you give it to them for free, there's a chance you might very well hook them into paying 19.99, or more, for a game that they probably weren't going to pay more Then 0.99c for, or a game that they might not have purchased at any up front price. There goes the theory on Freemium. Six-Guns currently has over 11,000 iTunes reviews. Modern Combat 3 has 7,700. MC3 has been out for significantly longer. Six-Guns is probably getting a 50% boost in downloads, if not more; and the amount of money one person can spend on it is unlimited. A "starter" pack costs 4.99. That's only $2 less then the price of the entire game, had it been premium, and that starter pack is just the tip of the ice burg. Check out Brothers in Arms Free+ sometime. There's your model right there. Money for guns, money for ammo, money for health, money for armor, money to unlock stuff early. You can earn enough money through in-game performance for basic play purposes, to restock health and ammo without ever spending any actual cash, but in a competitive multiplayer environment, you will have to spend in order to compete. Six-Guns can be played for quite a while without spending anything too. With Gameloft, at least, their games appear very much free on the surface, but I image that they all lead to a freemium wall eventually. I never play any of them long enough to find out though. The difficulty level probably reaches a point where you must spend to advance any further.
Yeah dumaz is right. Either way. I'm gonna get this freemium or not. I just hope they implent a similar pay system that MC3 has. Buy credits > spend them on guns and attachments!
Well i think this game sucks anyway.... MC3 has beaten battlefield 3 I tink this game would Release in late jan or early feb But might as well dun even release the game!!!many people hoping that it would coming out at the end of this year, well thanks to ea....u just crash our hopes...even they do release the game tomorrow, there will be several bugs on this game In my opinion, they should just concentrate on different things
Well tbh, MC3 is awesome, best FPS by far on iOS. And Battlefield is not out yet so we have rights to brag how awesome it is(sounds stupid I know)! Unless Battlefield happens to be awesome even with the freemium model, I could easily see myself dumping MC3, but for now, MC3 is just an amazing game.
