If this is freemium I'll probably pass on it tbh.

It's going to be 100% freemium. Look at the energy bar on the last picture.

i hope this delay means EA sees that freemium is not the way to go and that they are remaking the game into a premium game

If it's freemium just leave it the hell alone. MC3 already pushed the iOS platform to the limits for FPS, meaning there is no way to compete without dumping loads of cash into a full experience for Battlefield which would undoubtably leave very little room for profit selling it at $6.99. Not to mention the tons of crackers. I honestly hate to see this too but at least I see the sense in it.

Let them make the game they see fit from a business perspective and if u don't like it, don't play it.

Urgghh first it was Dungeon Hunter 3, and now this? To hell with freemium. EA cancelled NFS The Run to focus on this piece of sh*t? At least now we all know why EA cancelled NFS The Run, it is because they can't nickel and dime us to death with a racing game. Big developers such as Gameloft and EA are going downhill on the iOS, and from now on I will only look forward to indie games.

As for the poster above me, do you really think freemium can stop piracy? Really? I give you a hint, Dungeon Hunter 3's IAPs such as unlimited gold are already cracked and distributed on many iOS pirate sites. So to say that freemium can fix piracy is just plain ignorance.

    /rant.

Freemium is retarded. If I buy and app, you can't keep charging me to continue.

I create awesome paper airplanes that I will sell
    Here
No, it was actually to focus on a new Need for Speed game for iOS, not this.... (who knows if that would be freemium, but I'd hope not).

Ditto. I doubt it will happen, but that would be sweet... i don't think it CAN be much better then MC3, but it can be better in different ways. I was pumped about 50 guns but considering you will probably have to PAY FOR THEM, I don't know how much better it will actually be...

I think the graphics will be very nice, in a battlefield kind of way. Something I've loved about Battlefield, big duh, is the realism... that's everything from recoil to reload time. That's something they CAN do.

I did some snooping around today, and I started to see that many sites(including IGN) are saying that this game will be released on december 30th. Bf:Aftershock videos on youtube are filled with comments of people also saying that Dec.30th is the release date. Could this be true? Keep in mind that a few months ago IGN posted that Modern Combat 3 would come out on Oct.27th, and sure enough it did. Lets hope this isnt troll shenanigans :p

IGN uses arbitrary dates to indicate release windows. Dec 30 is/was an estimated release window. It was never an actual release date. March 31 is the next release window. Any game listed by IGN with a release date of March 31 is not coming out on that day.

Freemium is the future. The future is now. There's nothing you can do to stop it. Boycott it all you want. resistance is futile. It would be like staying "I'm not going to watch any more TV because there's barely anything on anymore outside of reality television, and reality TV is garbage." This may be true, but reality TV is here to stay, whether you watch it or not. I find no redeeming value in it, but that is beside the point. Freemium is the reality television of the AppStore. It ain't going away.

So pretty much IGN uses the date at the end of every quarter.

Yes, I believe this may have an energy consumption freemium feature. That has been pointed out since the very first batch of screens we saw of this game. And for those who want to complain, let me restate this with my previous post.

Ps. I don't think I said anywhere that freemium stops piracy in that post.

People DO find ways to crack the IAP system but apparently it's not as easy as downloading a cracked app.
