There are issues on Ipad2, Iphone 4s and iPad mini (old model). Game doesn't start for some users. Rebooting the device is solving the issue (power off/power on) in 95% of cases. Unfortunately most people don't do this. The game uses a lot of resources as we wanted to offer the best experience possible. We are currently trying to minimise memory footprint (keeping the same level of detail).
To piggy back the question of how this runs, also playing on a 5s and pretty smooth. Some assets are retina, others are not, but it sucks a lot of resources....A LOT. Phone is damn near capable of burning ur hands at the end of a long play session....oh yeah, get ready for the long play session it's pretty good. If you've played sky gamblers: storm raiders, graphics are slightly better (for the most part) but they figured out how not to juice the battery and make ur phone run hot...i'd bet updates will fix the issue
NOOO , plz dont ! i'd rather u raise the bar of the hardware requirement , add some more detail like infinity blade 3 did for the A7 64bit cpu , fully utilise the new generation apple hardware plz ! its not fair to us if the development always hinder by those not willing to buy hardware or update their iOS forever
lol yea ! i love the method u guys did with this game at the moment there is always some less popular game mode end up empty or unbalanced due to lack of players i suggest u guys should stick to this way , force the players to join different random mode
will this game release OSX version soon ? like the sky gambler series ? support OSX game center & iCloud save sync across iOS & osx ! can't wait to buy it also and play on both on it !! EDIT : got the answer i want from their fb page , It's in the works. I have no exact ETA but it will definitely reach Mac soon.
As far as the description says it's already optimised for A7 devices, no? I've playing it on my miniR and i dont think they should rise the bar any higher. The framerate drops if there is rly much going on. It's looking freaking gorgeous right now.
It's a RAM issue. If anything, the A7 devices got less to work with then iPad 3 and 4. That said, On my iPad Air and iPhone 5 all the crashes has been related to the profile page with the game enter, Facebook, twitter etc going on. Usually some "clean up" in regards to GC etc will help here. Anyway, really cool game, and really amazing gfx engine. If you guys get a "version" of the Xbox Live Arcade game Battlefield 1943 (not 1942) going on iOS, I don't see anyone grabbing that crown anytime soon.
I read the same reviews. I'm running it on my iPod 5G (iOS 7) with no issues at all. I just installed the game, reset my iPod, and closed out any other games before I booted it up for the first time and I've never had any problems. Great game! We'll worth the 5 bucks!
Second thoughts after playing longer. AWESOMER and at first!! This is a great game to pick up and play. It feels like Far Cry the way the physics work. Its a pleasure to play this. Worth way more than$5. Was this really only $5.49? I can't believe it. The quality of this game is better than many console and PC. Using an ipad 4 32mb here absolutely no issues so far.
Playing on an iPhone 5, very stable game so far. Yes, the graphics are pretty and the destruction system works very well, but for $5.49AUD it's really not worth it. Campaign is long and tedious, resulting in a repeat this action for almost every mission, apart from ones where you switch vehicles, but even that eventually boils down to 'shoot this guy'. I hated the controls from the beginning. I immediately turned auto-aim off as it obstructed me from turning to check my back, and the only way to accurately hit someone was to zoom in with the binouculaurs, which were really fiddly to move around. You'd have to move your finger across the entire screen and hold it there to make the camera move fast enough. Maps are huge, but in a multiplayer match you eventually bunch up in one single area or someone takes a hill and snipes everyone with ease. Really no initiative to rank up and unlock tanks, just a boring repition over and over again. Would buy for $0.5-$1AUD.
On my 4S it works flawlessly too. The "reboot device before playing" is a good one, not only with this game but with many other resource-heavy ones: XCom, Asphalt 8,...
I don't agree at all. This game has great gameplay too. The controls take lots of getting used to, once you do get used to them it gets fun. The campaign is long but I would not call it tedious it does take a while to traverse but that's part of the fun for me. Multiplayer can become a sniper fest but most maches I've been on are actually move around a lot. There is repetition but the maps and tanks are very different and fun. With no IAP I like this almost more then sky gamblers.
If the IAPs will be kept to being new tank packs, map packs or even modes, then im all for it. Right now, without any IAPs, this game is boss of all tank games on iOS.
Quite depressing posts like this. I mean 5 Australian dollars is nothing. How long do you think it took a team of graphic artists to create all the assets? Then there's the programmers and testers. This game should be one dollar? Ridiculous. This is one example where people are spoilt by tons of 99c games. Granted you may not like the game but to day I should be one dollar is insulting.
I don't like the controls as well.Feels to clunky and imprecise.Yes,it's a tank.I know, but that's not what i mean.It just doesn't feel"natural". And i don't want to start talking about the controls of jeeps/halftracks.That's a bad joke.Very unfortunate that i can't select a tank in those missions.I think the dev should have focused only on tanks and done this right.Riding boats, planes or jeeps doesn't make fun at all.At least to me. Graphics are really great and no crashes so far (iPad4).I have definitely fun with this game but we'll see how long.Unlocking tanks takes forever. Are they all unlockable just by entering a new rank? I think this still needs some polish.Mainly controls but also a kind of feedback if you get destroyed. There's just nothing that tell or show you what happened.Only the immediate"mission lost"screen. Was confusing at first. Price for the game is ok. Didn't play the MP yet,so i can't tell how it is now.
Yea, any big game I download, I do the reboot. Wether it's just a habit or not, it seems to work on a lot of games.
Indeed. Makes me feel a bit sick inside. Like you think you just press a few buttons and the game miraculously emerges onto a hard drive ready to publish! This is a mammoth amount of work and for what it does at its core, it does it really well with some of the richest and most interesting and biggest maps I ever seen on a mobile. Also, I don't know what someone earlier means either about "preferring strategy in this kind of game". What exactly does that even mean?? What do you want? Strategy is killing more than being killed, like any team based game with re-spawning. So your positioning and the way you work with your team IS the strategy. You can certainly make the difference with how patient you are, and some modes like base capture is more reliant on it. I would say that 10 minute games aren't quite long enough for that mode, as it takes 2 mins to get across to another base. Anyway, really enjoying this and the speed at which you can just jump into a quick MP battle is making it my go-to game for a quick blast right now. Great stuff!! EDIT: @GGLV - you can tell me to sod off if you want, but would you mind telling what you do as a job?
The controls need to be tweaked. Hate how imprecise the zoomed aiming is. Rlly kinda p1sses me off sometimes. Wtf?
