Anybody else having issues with the 3/09/15 update? The game is rotated wrong on my 6 plus (it's drawing it in portrait while I'm holding it landscape ways), and it never seems to flip back to landscape mode. Its totally unplayable, I can't use the interface because half the buttons are off the screen and if I rotate my phone the screen gets even more messed up.

Battle Riders - version 1.0.2 issue

There is an issue with the 1.0.2 version of the game that was released today. It seems that the latest version of iOS is displaying the game in portrait mode instead of landscape, even as the game is working fine on older versions of iOS.

I want to offer my deepest apologies to anyone that has updated the game. As of right now I have suspended the game from the store until I find a way to fix the issue. I was using an older version of Unity for the game engine and this seems to be the problem.

On another note, I have not posted about the game in a while, and I feel so bad that this is what I had to post. :)

Again, I am so sorry about the problems with the latest version, I am working on fixing them and getting the game back on the store.

Hey, don't beat yourself up. These things happen. :)

If anything, you should look at this positively. Battle Riders runs pretty damn well in portrait!!! Imagine a game of this calibur running in either portrait or landscape. Perhaps a little zooming out of the playing field, a little tampering with the controls (maybe have them strictly tilt in portrait) and the GUI and actually implementing it into the game? That would be ****ing mind-blowing! ;) Is that something that could work?

EDIT: Holy shit. I actually spent a couple of minutes playing the game like this. It doesn't need anything. The touch controls work fine, the playing field is perfect. It's just the menus. Dude, do it. Seriously!

Ahh things happen... I hadn't played the game in some time but was excited about the update and indeed the textures look nice and sharp on my iPad Air 2. But I was thinking " did I always play this in portrait mode?" It was still playable this way but seemed... really strange. Thought maybe I was losing my mind.

So compared to early Alzheimer's I'm glad to wait for an update :D

    # sorry you had to pull your game for now. Can't wait to see the new graphics update! I will grab it the second it shows back up on the store. Awesome game, hope the fix isn't too much of a pain #

    Battle Riders

    Thanks everyone for your support!

I have fixed the issue and a new build is waiting for review for a while. I hope that it will get released sooner rather than later. :)

As far as playing the game in portrait mode, it is quite interesting, maybe a good idea if I ever get to work on a sequel.

Speaking of which, I have put a lot of thought recently into trying to improve the outcome of this project (and I don't mean this last update issue), and the only idea that I could come up with, that maybe would make a difference, is making a freemium version of the game.

If anyone has any thought on that I would love to know what you think. I'm really not a fan of the freemium model, quite the contrary, but it seems to be what everyone is expecting.

Just to let you know I just tried playing tonight on my 1st gen iPad Air and had the same Issue with it coming up in portrait mode. But also I use the tilt steering and it kept steering to the right into the wall. I could not control it. So I tried resetting my iPad. That didn't help so I deleted the game meaning to reinstall it to find it was not available anymore and I came here to see what's up. Now I know. And I hope you came across that tilt steering issue and fixed that too in the upcoming update.

Great racer. I usuall don't dig the combat racing games but Battle Riders is done so well that I really like it.

    Battle Riders - version 1.0.3

The 1.0.3 update is now available. It should fix the orientation issues and bring support for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

I would really like to hear from anyone about their experience with this version of the game. Many thanks!

Seems fine in portrait mode now on my iPad Air 2 with 8.x. Nice resolution boost and still runs smooth. Good work!

Believe me, there is little that I would love more to do than to continue working on this project, especially since I had so many plans. Hopefully, the freemium version of the game that will come in a few weeks will allow for me to work on adding more content.

Id forgotten how fun this game is... does it have mifi support? I'm finally getting a controller as they are getting cheaper...

Unfortunately, the game doesn't have mfi controller support at the moment, but as I am porting the game to a newer version of Unity I have it on the list of new features. :)

I just remembered this game that I liked and re-downloaded it and now it runs perfectly on my 1st-gen iPad Air.

Freemium version oh no! What does that mean for us that paid for the full no IAP version. I love this game but hate it when premium games go freemium. Please tell me the original version will be supported and get the same upgrade as the freemium version with no IAP?

Although my focus is now on the free version, the premium will, of course, also get all the improvements. There will be a delay, for which I am sorry, as the games are now effectively two different projects and I am still a one-man team. :)
