Downloading now. Does anyone out there remember Crash N Burn for the 3DO? I loved that game and this really reminds me of it. I think it came bundled with the system.
Thanks everyone! And many thanks to TouchArcade for the great review! It feels amazing to see your work being appreciated!
hello. i purchased the game but im unable to finish downloading the game due to its large file size. It said it was around 200mb but i researched on the web and the finished size was almost around 500mb. can you please minimize the file size so i can play?
The problem with iPod Touch 4 is that it has the resolution of iPhone 4 but the RAM of iPod Touch 3. I am working on a solution as we speak. I'm sorry, but this is how all apps sizes are reported on the App Store (by Apple) - the size of the installer, which in my case is 262 MB. As the installer is an archive the final footprint of the app will be much larger (570 MB for Battle Riders). Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can do about the file size; the only solution is to free enough space on the device.
Its like that for every game in the app store. The app store tells you the small 'installer' size not the installed size.
Really enjoying it but I'm struggling with the position of the arrows - it feels like they should be lower down the screen and I just keep missing them when I'm trying to steer.
Battle Riders was nominated for the Touch Arcade forums’ Game of the Week poll. Voting will occur over the next three days. Agreed, on the iPad anyway the arrow controls are positioned a bit awkwardly. I worked around that by resting the iPad on my knee so my thumbs could come in from the sides, and then it worked fine. Just making the hit boxes for the buttons larger would fix it. I actually switched to tilt steering now though, and I find that the best. I found the button steering a bit too crude compared to the amount of accuracy required to play well. The tilt steering on the other hand works quite well and allows very analog steering control. Also, I discovered if you have two machine guns equipped, you can hold down both weapon buttons with both thumbs to fire them simultaneously, which feels way cool. This is easy to do when using tilt steering, but very awkward when using buttons or joystick.
I want to post a list of the most important changes that I am working to implement in the first update the game gets: - improvements to all control schemes, but especially arrows and joystick on the iPad - reduced difficulty for clean races - support for iPod Touch 4 and iPad 1 - support for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Hopefully, the update will roll out just as the new iPhones start to become available.
Fantastic. Just being able to move the controls closer to the edge on the iPad would be great. They're probably ideal for the iPhone but are a bit of a stretch on the larger iPad. My hands are already excited (well that just sounds wrong) Congrats on the review btw... If this does well at all maybe you can spring for some help on your next project ;-)
Battle Riders - Price drop I have to apologize for not posting in a while about the status of the game. I have actually waited for Apple to approve and release the first update of the game (better controls, iPod 4 and iPad 1 support, minor adjustments). But since this seems to take a lot longer than usual, I decided on another change for the time being. That is to change the price of the game to $0.99. All my thanks to everyone that bought the game until now! I really appreciate all your support!
I just bought it. 99 c and it feels like a game worth of 1.99$. I wish I could bought this game earlier. Keep up the good work
Multiplayer is a possibility, as I am looking for ways to implement it into the game. New cars and other goodies are also in plan, but at the moment I am working on making the game run native on the new iphones.
Battle Riders - Promo Codes While I wait for the first update to get approved and released, I wanted to post some Promo Codes for anyone who is interested: K6M3F4F6HFHX WHTLTKMMPM3R L6ML4LN4XT9P 6R4JF69NYLWE KYMJER7NPAEX 64XF9RTXAYY3
Very unexpected, much appreciated...used L6ML4LN4XT9P. I wish you all the luck and continued success the AppStore has to offer. Richard
K6M3F4F6HFHX now belongs to me and my shiny new iOS 8 install, and WHTLTKMMPM3R to Siniom. Download a-loadin', and impressions forthcoming...
C'mon Apple... we know you are busy bricking the new iPhones with your updates but quit sitting on your hands with Battle Riders. How long can a game update approval take?
