I'd love to see the same gestures for zooming in and out on the map as you find in safari... That would make my day.

I bought the iPhone version when it was $9.99 and I actually feel pretty good about it. The iPhone/iPad ports have probably generated more money for the developers than they ever expected to see.

A good thing for us all.

Now, let's expand that model and bring FreeOrion and the open source version of M.U.L.E. to these platforms!

Do you mean you want the ability for the graphics to be bigger? Zoom in more? I could probably do that very easily actually, however to make them smaller (zoom out more) it would get slow because it has to draw many more tiles...

Yeah, zooming in would make my life easier for selecting units and which tile I want to move to. My sausage like fingers make life challenging.

While it would be really cool to zoom out to see the whole map, what I care about most is being able to be more precise with my selections (units, where to move, etc.).

I recognize that useful detail would disappear zooming out too far and I under the potential performance hit from drawing so many tiles. So it's no biggie if it's just for zooming in.

I wasn't sure if there's just a default ipad API call that Safari is using. It seems so fast and fluid that I thought it might be a hardware function that they're calling. But I'm really just totally guessing there.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling. I should focus on the problem I'm trying to solve for and that's people with large hands having issues selecting units, tiles, etc. A zoom function seemed like a good solve to me, but it's better to present you with the pain point and not give you my haphazard guess at a solution.

    Thanks again,

    Joe

    Zoom

I would very much like a way to zoom in also. The default view is great to see more of the map but I want to be closer to be able to select units and watch the battles better. I see a lot of people on the iTunes reviews feel similar. I think it would be a good enhancement :)

First off: Love the game. Awesome job!

Now: This may be intended behaviour, but I've noticed a tap on the minimap recenters the camera, but if you start dragging your finger around on the minimap, the camera pans as if you were dragging around the terrain. It's a little confusing because it creates the effect of the minimap "camera box" moving in the opposite direction of your drag. I don't know how hard it would be to make the minimap drag a unique input, or if you'd even want to, but it's one thing I noticed.

The only other is that sometimes I'll do a quick double-tap when I want to move a unit and don't really care about reviewing the associated path, turn count, or terrain defense percentage. Only problem is, that doesn't seem to do anything. You have to more carefully tap, and then pause and tap again to confirm. Again, not a big deal, but if you're looking for more work to do it would be appreciated ;)

Thanks again for the great game! It really works well on the iPad.

Can I make one request. If you do add a zoom in, please add a button somewhere to automatically go back to the normal zoom.

    One other thing:

I haven't actually played the iPad version yet (my iPad is showing up today. Yippee.), but I have a question about the minimap. Does tapping on the minimap center the main display around where the minimap was tapped?

BfW will be one of my first games played tonight.

Double tap to move: this was added in the 1.4.2 hot fix, which is already in review and should be out in a few days. This makes playing a lot easier

Minimap scrolling: you're right, that is a bug. Dragging your finger around on the minimap should move the camera center. I'll fix that for the next episode. Yes mlkaufman, tapping the minimap centers the displayed on the point tapped

Next Episode campaign: not revealed yet, but it is another unique and fun campaign ;)

Started playing this. It's a little crash-happy. Plus some UI elements are tiny. Like the confirmation dialog near the end of the tutorial scenario when the dummies are spawned. It's very difficult hitting the dialog buttons.

    Lots of fun though :)

Just brought this couple of nights ago and it's great, just wondering if anyone else has the problem when playing skimirsh matches that as soon as they finish their first turn the game declares you victorious and the match ends?
still enough campaigns so it's not a big deal.

You have to check the game settings, and make sure the players are not on the same team. Eventually I'll fix the defaults :p

This may have been mentioned already, by why the map choppiness when scrolling around? I would think that the simplified 2D graphics would be handled smoothly by the iPad, is this an issue of optimization?

Yeah, I'm also hoping that the scrolling lag gets fixed in the next update. Everything else seems GREAT!
