I'd definitely drop as much as I could without ruining the look of the game to speed up scrolling, if anything I'd suggest two forms of scrolling. Single finger scroll moving the screen as it presently does, without the GUI elements displayed to speed it up. Two finger scroll either retaining those elements, or simplifiying things even more (think colour coded blocks instead of game art) to provide a "tactical view".
I promised myself I would get this as soon as it was launched and I have Shame the iPad still hasn't come out here, thoughÂ…
Kyle, I played for a couple hours last night and I'm loving it. The art is beautiful and it makes me feel like I'm playing an old school pc RPG/TBS. One minor feedback is that I find it a little frustrating to do movement sometimes. Can you increase the size of the hit area for the second tap so it isn't so easy to miss and lose the path you figured out.
Great job on the port! This is really and excellent, excellent game but I do have one complaint: the map scrolling is horrible slow. (Also, your price is too low!)
I as well have problems with the tapping movement often. also i found that I had to set the gameplay to the easiest setting so I could get instructions as i played. I think tutorials should be on all levels. All new users play on easiest setting for your own good the game is still very challeging as well. Possible to play in portrait mode????
Is the .99$ price point staying that way, or is this a sale? I'm possibly getting an iPad next month, and I'm curious whether I should buy it now or if it will be safe to wait until then.
Thanks a lot Kyle. I've got tonnes of work to do today, and had about 4hours sleep, and my girlfriend is angry because she claims the light from the ipad stopped her sleeping properly.
Yeah, you need to turn the brightness way down, or be like a kid and play under the covers so they don't find out
i bought it, ill ask for a refund i think crashed twice, black screen once, framerater stutter a lot when scrolling has it been tested on ipad? a lot of time u can even read "on your iphone..."
Are you kidding? @Kyle: Great work so far! I really love it after three hours of gaming without any problems! Thank you for your work!
why whould i be kidding? i started the tutorial, when he asked me to go to village to heal, blackscreen twice
Sorry about the black screen problem, it happens if you rotate your device too much when a talking box is displayed. Just turn on the device's screen orientation lock if it happens too much to you. A fix should be out soon! Also I will make sure to do a search and replace for iPhone -> iPad if that bothers you too much haha
If only he'd sold it for more than a buck... he'd be higher than 44th on the Grossing list. Unless it's something to do with it being an open source port, I don't know why anyone thinks that the extra volume from a $0.99 game makes up for the extra revenue for a $1.99 or $2.99 game. Regardless though, great work! I finally finished the tutorial, and loved the ease of play on the larger screen! Fantastic and worth TWICE THE SELLING PRICE!
