    Yes! Thank you!

Just lock the screen before you start it, and you are good to go :)

For 99 cents its not like you can go terribly wrong here.

Yeah it's tough to pass up for a buck. I just burrowed through my couch cushions, found enough change to jam into the connection port of my iPad, and bought the game.

Looking forward to check it out.

Tried this on my first iPad. Didn't work so well and damage wasn't covered by apple care :)

Um ok... Yeah. This game is a steal for a buck. I actually feel guilty. I never played it on the iPhone cause the screen was so painfully small. But it's perfect for the iPad.

Also, many thanks to the devs for adding a random map generator for skirmish mode. Un-ending gameplay. Love it.

    Hope you enjoy it!

Getting a black screen? This is a bug if you accidentally rotated the device a bit when a talking dialog is displayed. You can turn on screen orientation lock, or just tap the screen if that happens... Sorry, a fix has been submitted already!

    Kyle,

My iPad doesn't arrive until friday, so I have purchased this but not played it yet.

Is this the same as the current iPhone release, or is it 1 release behind? Which campaigns are included?

    Thanks, Michael

Hi Michael, Wesnoth HD is the same Episode 4 as the iPhone version. The full campaign list is included in the app description on iTunes... In the future, updates will be submitted for both iPad and iPhone simultaneously.

I know how hard it is to wait for your iPad to arrive, hang in there it is totally worth it! :D

The bigger screen definitely makes this much more enjoyable than the iPhone version. Been playing this all last night...awesome job on the iPad version :)

Thanks man, I've been playing it a lot myself too! Actually I'm about to start a new campaign, not sure which one I will try... Obviously I don't have time to play through them all heheheh

But I guess I have steadier hands then some other people, I didn't notice that black screen bug until after it was already submitted

    Hey Kyle,

Nice work, looks and plays awesome on the bigger screen.
Couple of issues/bugs I'd like to mention though.

First off, during the cutscene between scenario 1 and scenario 2, on the first campaign. The screen went black and continued to alternate between a regular / black screen every time a new story message popped up during the prescenario chat on scenario 2. Seems like a drawing issue.

Second, it'd be great if you could work on the speed of scrolling around the terrain.

I've also sent you a PM regarding something completely unrelated to Wesnoth.

    Again, good work

Might want to read the thread to find out how to fix that glitch. Was already discussed.

I downloaded it and only tried the tutorial myself. Seems pretty nice so far

Yes there is a bug that I missed, that causes a black screen sometimes if you tilt the device too much. So in the meantime while waiting for the fix, just use a steady hand, or turn on your device orientation lock.

Personally I've always found the orientation changes on the ipad home screen for example to be a bit too easy to trigger, especially when you put the device down on a table, it changes to some other orientation, then you have to pick it up again to get your desired orientation again, ugh... I guess that's why they added that new lock slider late in the product development...

About slow scrolling speed... yes I agree, it could be sped up. Would you mind if it simplified drawing during scrolling, for example did not display the healthbars and selection circles when it was scrolling?

I picked it up last night and all I have to say is CURSE YOU KYLE. I was having a very productive nice putting together the art assets for my own game when I saw Wesnoth was available. I got the art assets finished, but then I got no coding done.

BAH I say! BAH! (and I'm enjoying the game quite a bit).:D

It is a huge game (254mb), make sure you install it by syncing with your desktop computer, not on the device itself...

idiotcoder... do not feel bad... just call it "competitive research" and you're okay ;)
