Tell you what - assuming Kyle grants his permission (I don't know how private he wants the beta to be, so I'll send him an e-mail now), I'll let you guys know when the Beta gets underway, and keep you appraised with a summary of the progress I see. I appreciate being in your shoes, and it's heartening to find out that things are indeed progressing.
Actually I really want to do a dev blog, since there's so much that I've done over the past few weeks that other iPhone devs would be interested in... But of course lately I've been too busy, maybe starting next week I'll have time
Joint with what? Within its field on the PC, Wesnoth is pretty much without peer, and the iPhone version will be a fully intact port of it. It also gets regular, major updates, so it'll continue to improve until the end of time.
That's something to love about it. Honestly, I think more game companies should examine Wesnoth as a model. What if someone released an MMO that you not only played in, but could add areas on to?
A couple do now, actually - Ryzom and City of Heroes both have built-in editors and you can share your missions and areas with the playerbase.
so when's this bad boy gonna be submitted? A guestimate anyone? I haven't checked in on this thread for quite some time
The beta is starting today, as soon as the 200mb file is uploaded to my server I am hoping to tie up all loose ends and get the performance where I want it in the next two weeks.
I seriously cant believe im playing this on my phone.... between this, inethack, and the quest with all of its expansions, I'm pretty much set for life... I'm excited to dig in and find all the bugs!
