Is there a limit to the number of units you can have for each side ? Or can you create huge armies (map size and resources permitting) ?
Missed again....drat! Dang...I would have to find this thread a couple of days too late....sigh. Oh well, here's mine anyway Looking forward to the final product when I can get my sorry hands on it! P.S. Gratz on the baby sir. Z
I've never seen a unit limit other than resources, but I will note that it would take forever to play out a game with too many units on your side, since you move them each individually.
That would be David White... It would be really egocentric to name a game after yourself. That's like me making an RPG and calling it "Kyle's Quest"... Oh, wait... never mind....
I made a social group for beta testers. If you haven't been invited to the group, please leave me a private message! All the beta testers, please follow the instructions in the group...
Late to the Game... I was a huge fan of BfW on the Mac. In fact, I just recently resurrected the game a few days ago - somehow I completely missed this thread until today! Anyway, though I may have missed the Beta competition, I thought I'd throw in my two cents anyway: Fire Dragon As an old Magic:TG player, I have a soft spot in my heart for dragons anyway, but to have both solid mêlée options and ranged fire breathing, that clinches it! It does make me want to see more dragons, though! Catacomb Dragon, anyone?? Also, the Banebow looks pretty sweet, with a pretty cool submerge ability. I'm envisioning stationing these guys all along the shore... -Ryan BTW: Congrats on the baby girl on her way, Kyle! My wife's due in February, too!
Hi, Hopefully I'm not speaking out of turn. But Kyle is putting the finnishing touches to the beta. Obviously Kyle can give a much better update than myself.
i hope so... we've been waiting for this game long enough, and if the price will be 5$, i want a good and playable game.
Well, to be fair, he's not really the dev. He's just doing the port. The game itself is free on the PC, and is constantly updated and maintained by a large community of dedicated fans. Money from the port will support the PC version which in turn will go back to supporting the port, so it's all good for everyone.
a new competitor Song Summoner from Square Enix, check it out http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=26772
Ehh... Song Summoner on the 5G iPod was a pretty big disappointment for me - one that I promptly dropped (and wished I hadn't wasted $5 on). I had high hopes for the song summoning portion, but it turned out to be somewhat of a crap shoot as to what song gave you a good character, and then that song was promptly forgotten (i.e. no use of the actual song during gameplay). Even with the Square pedigree, I don't really think it will stack up at all to Wesnoth. (Then again, there's always Sliding Heroes...that looks like a worthy competitor in the strategy genre...)
If Square want to compete with Wesnoth, then they just need to port Final Fantasy Tactics (an enhanced version of the PSP port, ideally) to the iPhone. It'd work perfectly with a touch interface, too. It's not too graphically intensive (it's an update of a PS1 game, so well within iPhone levels of power), it's deep, it's complex and it's all round a great game. I'd buy that for sure. Song Summoner just looks too lightweight.
Song Summoner is nothing special, I have it on the original iPod and there wasnt any strategy to it, just the song gimmick. But you just reminded me how great Tactics was I'm about to play it again to hold me over until this game releases. Square still hasn't tried to make a real game for the iPod but I hope they do soon. They make amazing looking portable games.
